We enjoyed our stay at The Thistle Holborn. The location was convenient to the tube and the bus. The staff was great and the daily breakfast was pretty good, as well. There are so many restaurants nearby, as well. We would definitely stay again.

Great value ”
My husband and I stayed here for a long weekend in London. It is a 5 minute walk from the Holborn Underground stop and a 2 minute walk to the British museum. It's 10 minuets from Chinatown and from Covent Garden. If you're doing things in any of those areas it's really a fabulous location. It's also a quick Underground jaunt to East London (think Spitalfields/Shoreditch). The absolute best parts of staying at this hotel are these: 1) it's a 2 minute walk from the Le Cordon Bleu cafe which provides amazing coffee and pastries (and eggs and other things). 2) We were able to check-in to our room before noon. When taking a red-eye from the US East Coast this is amazing.

Great location, good value for money”
The hotel is located in a great area: close to the British Museum, Holborn Underground, Supermarkets, great food and walking distance to St. Pancras, Convert and Soho. We got a high floor room with great open view. The room was pretty large and great bathroom. However, few things that I found important for improvement: 1. No refrigerator. 2. The floor was a little squeaky 3. The hotel and room felt a bit outdated Having said that, I assume that this won't be an issue for everyone.

Noise in abundance ”
Rooms on the main road are so noisy it’s difficult to have a decent sleep after a long day in the capital. Breakfast is limited poor quality produce cold and tasteless The bar does not have a working tv and the cooler in the room did not work. Very poor for a 4 star thistle.

Old dusty carpets and dated property ”
Cleanliness is not this hotel moto The dust flying from the carpets directly in your lungs The split aircon is old and too noisy Staff entertaining in room without knocking and telling how to lock the door. Is the door not automatically locked and opens only with card? I requested for a printed invoice at the checkout and the staff said all is paid and you have it in my email. I needed a printed invoice but my request was denied

Missing items from room, no accountability from staff”
Our limited edition mugs were specifically removed from our room. It was left together with other personal items. It has been 3 weeks and the hotel is not replying to our emails. They promised to look into it when we checked out.

Great location with helpful staff”
It's my first stay at this hotel. I booked it after looking at the reviews. I must say I was not disappointed. The hotel is located near Holborn station, and it's a nice 10 minutes to center of London, so great great great location. The rooms are super nice, although small, but it's London. Last but not least, the staff were super helpful and accomodating. Great breakfast, although a little expensive even for London. To sum it up, I would recommend this hotel to my friends and family.

Fabulous hotel in central London”
We enjoyed a Friday night stay at the Kingsley Hotel, which we booked because of it's great location. It was very near to Holborn and Tottenham Court Road tube stations, which made it the ideal base for our time in London. The hotel itself was very nice with charming decor in the communal areas. The rooms were also cleanly and simply furnished but very comfortable. The hotel was more than I had planned to pay but having read excellent reviews I decided to splash out and wasn't disappointed. It was a fantastic hotel but certainly wasn't snooty as the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, which really made the stay.

Good hotel with glitches”
the hotel is just around the corner from the british museum and about 10 min walk from tottenham court road tube. (holborn is closer). i arrived at about 1.15, and was welcome to check-in despite the official earliest being 2.00. a mid-sized room, comfy big bed (firm with a softer topper)and a good choice of pillows, including duck feather (on demand). temperature control seemed good, and the fan wasn't noisy, at least for heating. room and bathroom were very clean, and there was a drench shower over the bath and hand shower. basic toiletries-- no hand lotion. so far so good. but some glitches emerged. the shower fitting was coming loose in the shower head, so water poured out round the edges. tried to push it back with no success. then i noticed that the seal round the bottom of the screen was leaking and big puddle had formed on the floor. when i told the desk, these problems were fixed speedily and cheerfully. i couldn't get the tv to switch on. looked in the room info folder, to find the relevant section was missing. that got sorted too -- it was me not getting it right, but i was getting no help! i thought the room was a bit noisy for a 5th floor room. (bloomsbury way is a busy road.)next morning i found that the secondary glazing units were open -- hidden behind the net curtains -- i hadn't thought to check as i assumed they were double glazed units... staff were helpful and keen to please, so it was generally an ok experience, but a bit more attention to room-checking would be good...

Fantastic location ”
The hotel is is located a 2min walk from Covent Garden and also close to oxford street. It was so convenient for shopping. Easy to pop back to the hotel if we needed. Parking at Bloomsbury square just round the corner, half price if the hotel validates the ticket. Bed and pillows were lovely and comfortable - we had a king size. Will definitely stay here again

Lovely staff, excellent service and location”
We booked in for two nights and were met by very pleasant and competent front-of-house staff. Our room was nicely appointed, the decor unobtrusive. The hotel is located very near to Shaftesbury Ave and only a few minutes walk to Coventry Garden and Soho. As we ate a late breakfast, we put the overdone sausages down to them having been under the buffet heat too long. Next day was the same and we concluded sausages are cooked in the oven for too long, which was disappointing but we would still recommend The Thistle.

the hotel is very conveniently located near holborn station. the walk from the station to the hotel is a pleasant one. the rooms are very clean and the environment is quiet. the beds and furniture are reasonably comfortable. we were able to sleep very well every night. the staff are very friendly and very helpful. generally, my stay was very pleasant!

This hotel provided an excellent base from which to explore London in the short time we were there. The check in process was painless and they offered me the option to add breakfast for us for 10GBP each at that time. The option was also available to pay in our home currency which was nice. The concierge was attentive and assisted us with an umbrella, storing our luggage after check out, arranging a transfer to Heathrow (49GBP quoted however the driver said it was 50GBP), arranging tickets for a hop on hop off bus and tickets to the Tower of London and also letting us know that the London Eye was closed for annual maintenance (but we still walked there to catch an evening river cruise anyway). The hotel was close to a variety of restaurants, transport options (buses, tube), gardens, pubs, shows, sights/museums, and shows. The bed was comfortable and we enjoyed the internet and reverse cycle capable air conditioner in the room.

Good location and good room”
Room was classy, nice, clean, and spacious. Toilet is big and clean too. There's a huge or long dressing table to put stuff. Hotel is between two Tube stations, Holborn and Tottenham Court, about a 5 min walk from each. Hotel staff was friendly and the overall experience was great!
