“Room upgrade needed ”
This is my first time visiting Thistle, I went with my husband and toddler for my company's team building event. The lobby is spacious and clean and has the resort feel, with horse toy ride to get the kids occupied. Security and staff are friendly and attentive. However only two small check-in counters. Let's talk about the security personnel - my husband's car broke down after Seremban R&R and it got towed to Thistle. The security at the guard post came to check on us at the car park to ensure our car and us were ok, he even helped us to carry our luggages to the lobby. They are doing upgrading works for the lifts, so we have to use the two side lifts that are shared with the staff as well. Not a big issue for me as we can use the staircases, even though a bit tiring to go up and down 6 floors since our room is located at the highest floor. I just feel sorry for the staff with luggage trolley/cart having to wait for the lifts to move the cart. Common facilities - Pools are great with two slides at different areas for the kids. My girl enjoyed it very much. I see there are a few pools with different depth and even a jacuzzi-like pool as well. Too bad I didn't have time to use the pools. Big field with outdoor floor chess and activities. Food at Fresh - taste wise ok, buffet selection not like super duper many but quite decent. Down side is quite some flies at the buffet area and even flew into the cover esp for the fruits and dessert section. They have scented candles to fight the flies but still cannot get ride 100%. I am a vegetarian and with my company, the lunch and dinner vegetarian that was prepared were quite good, just that they were more Indian style with a lot of spices / spicy, was looking at more varieties like Chinese or western style. We ordered ala carte for my husband and my girl, fried noodles was a bit too salty, vegetarian pasta and vegetarian pizza were quite good, my girl loved them. Room - old and dated. Enter with smoke/musky smell and it lingered for quite some time. Door bell not working. Some clothes hangers are quite old / dirty. Bedsheets are considered clean but not big enough to cover the double twin beds that were merged to become a king bed, therefore the sheet came off at the corner towards the pillow side and my husband saw some hairs on the mattress below the protector. Floor is non-carpeted with matte tiles, feel sandy/dusty to our feet. TV screen has some patches or lines to it when it's on. Toilet - toilet bowl water pressure is low hence really need to follow the instruction to hold long flush to have full flush. Shower door rubber came off so making loud noise when we open and close the door. Shower valve for cold water not working well. Sink hole is rusty. Still provide sample size shower amenities, suggest to change to wall mounted shower gel and shampoo. Service - I forgot my pajamas in the toilet and the hotel staff called us to inform about it. I chose Easy Parcel to send back my pajamas to KL and I thank the staff for accommodating my request and they even wrapped the pajamas with bubble wrap before putting it into a box. It's extra that they do it but I really appreciate it. Overall I have good experience with Thistle from big picture and with the staff and I look forward to visit again after the upgrading of the rooms are done.
