Perfect place to relax”
It's been my second stay at Thongtapan Resort and I can't imagine a more beautiful and relaxed place to spend a holiday on a budget. The bungalows are spacious, the garden is beyond stunning, Nai Pan Noi is my favourite beach on Koh Phangan and the people are super-friendly. If you are into a more low-key vibe, then you get a lot of holiday for very little money. Recommended!

Perfect stay. Great Food, great beach, great sea. ”
We had a wonderful stay here. It tooks 35mn from pier to come here by pick up (300 baht/person) but it worth as there is no other beach is better than the beach in frond of Thongtapan at Koh Phangan. White sand, clear water and can see a lot of fish. My kids love it. Resort has nice out look. Very good price compare to all 5 stars hotel surrounding. During our stay, we saw a lot of guests who are staying at 5 stars hotel come to swim in the beach in frond of our resort. However, in side room is very standard. No fridze, not so clean. Bed is soft but cover bed is not beautiful. Air conditioner is working well same as hot water system. The restaurant is the best one in this area. Try larp fish! It is so delicious. If you need pick up, call Mr Suraponth at 087,278,6704 when you arrive at pier. He is a very nice guy. Price is 300 baht/ person/ way but he charged us 700 baht only for 2 adults and 3 kids. Then we book him to bring us from hotel to pier. He came on time and charge the same price. If you ask pick up from hotel, they will charge you 300baht/ person but need to collect 3 person up or you have to hire a car at 1000 baht/way. Conclusion, our trip in Koh Phangan is wonderful. We will come back to stay in this hotel for sure. Recommend to family with kids and to person who like to stay at place where they can relax, quiet, no party.

Great bungalows, lovely staff, beautiful location”
I stayed here for a week and could not fault Thong Tapan Resort - the reception staff, the owners, Coco the barman .....were all lovely and welcoming - this was great especially as I was travelling on my own. The beach is beautiful, the bungalows are wooden and rustic on the outside and clean and very comfortable inside. My only down side was that as I went in July (European school holidays) the place was full of couples and families. Apparently more backpackers come during spring and September time! I loved the village of Noi as it has a more authentic feel - I didn't like the uopmarket resorts sharing the beach. I went to Yai and really liked the vibe there - more laid back and old school Koh Phangan I think. If I could transport Noi beach and Thong Tapan to Yai then it would have been 110%!! Yai isn't for everyone though as I met a couple who moved to noi for more peace and quiet and a better beach. Anyway on Thong Tapan - I loved it! And miss it!!

Quiet and relaxing”
We had a lovely 1 week in Thongtapan resort. They have lovely bungalows on the hill overlooking the ocean, and we really enjoyed our stay surrounded by nature. The beach was a bit rough when we stayed, so we always went to Thong Nai Pan Yai for swim. However, the resort is located right in front of the beach, and absolutely qiuet and relaxing. there are a few good places to eat and hang out in Town, so we never get bored with finding new places to eat. The owners are extremely helpful and friendly, Thong Nai Pan Noi and Yai are the place to go if you want getaway holidays in ko Phangan.

Peaceful and beautiful beachside retreat”
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Thongtapan! The beach is beautiful and has a nice secluded feel. The restaurant was great with unbeatable toes-in-the-sand ambience, a nice breakfast, and a great nightly fresh seafood grill--not incredibly cheap but great quality. The bungalows are all very nice from what I can tell (we stayed in 2 different ones), and almost all have a very pleasant walk through gardens and nature to your bungalow. The resort is quiet and private feeling. You're an easy walk on the beach away from many other beachfront restaurants too, some with live entertainment every night. It definitely seems to be an "upscale" beach, but Thongtapan manages to maintain the simple, almost Gilligan's-Island feel despite being surround by luxury resorts. But that's part of what makes Thongtapan feel so special--you feel like you're getting access to a luxury secluded/private beach but at a fraction of the cost. I highly recommend Thongtapan.

Great bungalows in a lovely setting.”

Beautiful place, wonderful people”
Where to begin, this place is really fantastic. It's located on the beach, with bungalows set into the hillside behind in lovely gardens with large natural rock features. The staff are really kind, fun and super friendly. They made our stay really special. The Thongtapan restaurant has beautiful views, and is literally on the beach. Food really good! It is only a short walk to the local village/shopping area. There aren't a lot of shops, but there are many restaurants, with great food, and excellent massage therapists. Thongtapan is quite far from everything else on the island (half an hour on a bumpy road), but tours pick you up from the hotel. You can do everything from snorkeling to ziplining. It is also far from the party scene, which is big in other parts of the island. I highly recommend Thongtapan Resort!!

Very nice hotel in great location”
Hotel is located on the beautiful beach! It has its own restaurant with BBQ every evening - superb! Rooms are clean and spacious. We stayed in Superior Garden Bungalow - be aware that you have to climb a little steps to get to your room. Second - our view was on some kind of shed, not the best "garden view" however beautiful beach and location will definetely recompense. Since October till December there are no ferries running to Thong Nai Pan so you have to take a taxi from Thongsala to get here. Staff is very friendly! I totally recommend this place - beach is georgeous and no crowds.

Nice and quiet”
We enjoyed a relaxing end to our very active trip through Thailand at Thongtapan resort. It's quiet and relatively secluded, which was just what we were looking for. Do bear in mind that exploring thw island from here gets expensive, since transportation to and from Thong Na Pan Noi is either by private taxi or twice a day with the resort's 4 x 4. However, there is plenty of fun to be had on the small, quiet beach itself. We rented paddle boatds and explored the rocks surrounding the bay (fun and easy!), booked a snorkelling trip from the dive center (highly recommended!), and visited the Saturday Walkig Street in Thongsala (meh). Reception staff were exceedingly helpful (even when we made a planning error and had the poor receptionist book, then cancel, then rebook transportation to Bangkok for us). Restaurant staff seemed a bit scatterbrained. If we were to return we'd book the package deal including breakfast, as the breakfast served at the restaurant is excellent.

Comfy bungalows right by the beach”
This was our second stay at the resort as we love the location on a quieter part of the island. Recommend renting a scooter and riding to bottle beach or thong nai pan Yai beach for calmer water at this time of year(Feb). The beds are comfortable and the bungalows are a good size with a terrace. Only obvious improvement would be fridges one the room

Beautiful Secluded Beach Resort”
Thongtapan is a lovely collection of huts/bungalows on a perfect beach. I stayed in a superior beachfront bungalow for 2 nights with my two children. The bungalow was only a few steps from the beach and was basic but very clean with enough space and a lovely porch with chairs and a clothes line for our towels, etc. Fresh water is provided but there is no fridge or any other amenities included in the room. There is a fantastic restaurant at the resort where you can get breakfast, lunch and dinner. The menu is extensive, the prices are cheap and the service is really good. Added to this you can sit inside undercover or outside on the many tables on the beach. There are beautiful lanterns in the trees at night and there is also a huge bamboo swing to lie on or for the kids to play. The resort also has deck chairs, kayaks and plenty of buckets and spades and sand castle building tools for residents to use for free. There are other restaurants and bars a bit further up the beach as well as the small village which is only 5 mins walk from the resort where you can find convenience stores, pharmacies and more restaurants/cafes. I would definitely stay here again, it was so relaxing and peaceful and there were plenty of activities if you wanted to do them - ie. snorkelling, diving, kayaking, tours around the island. Great for families and couples. Can't wait to go back!

Bliss on a stick!”
We have been coming back to Thongtapan 3 years now and what a surprising find. Crystal clear sea, fine white sand, romantic lantern restaurant with outstanding food and service(sand underfoot and shade trees above). Staff are lovely and Joey is amazing in reception...nothing is ever too much trouble. Location is incredible with 3 bays all connected. Very calm sea in September and just enough wind to keep you cool. 5* resorts all along this stunning beach and being family run, Thongtapan, will hopefully be running for many more years. For the price this is a gem!

Great location on a great beach ”
Thongtapan is a very nice place we found to be good value for money. The bungalows are small but very clean and have A/C and fans. The beach is very quiet and great for swimming. The restaraunt is run by a family of Burmese people that are very kind and eager to assist with any questions you might have. Our 3 kids were treated royaly by all of the staff there. One of the ladies even took our daughters to her place to play while it was her day off. All in all we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend Thongtapan Resort to anyone looking for a quiet comfortable place to stay.

Value for money”
thongtapan hotel is by far the cheapest hotel in the area and although quite basic the room was large with a very comfortable bed. the bathroom wasn't great but for the price you pay you can't complain especially as this resort had by far the best restaurant right by the sea and great beach bar where we spent many a night. the owner is very friendly and overall the atmosphere was really good. i am pleased we didn't go for one of the other overpriced hotels as this way we ended up with more money in our pockets. the one thing that would have made it better was if they had supplied shampoo and soap but apart from that i would highly recommend it.

Charming and great value for money”
This resort is really good value for money. We stayed in the bungalows on the hill and the environment around it was really nice, with lots of green trees and animals to look at in the afternoons (beautiful birds, butterflies, bats, geckos..).The bungalow itself is very nice and cosy and we really enjoyed staying here. The location is great on a very nice beach. Many of the other hotels in the area are expensive ones and the beach is clean and very nice. Thongtapan is located at the end of the beach and have their own lovely stretch of sand. It was easy to get here now when the road from Thong sala has been concreted. I would very much recommend to stay here, I would certainly like to go back.

Beautiful beach and very nice bungalows ”
We were looking for some peace and quiet after the full moon party and this hotel were marvelous for our purpose. Comfortable beds, very nice and quiet beach (low season), nice with the free sunchairs and beach equipment. The restaurant was okey. But not more than that. The wifi didn't reach the bungalows but you could use it on the beach. We would definitely stay here again. The beach, nai pan nai, is a lot nicer than the nai pan yai so you don't need to feel that you have to move from this perfect beach. Extra tip: For a true thai experience walk towards the main road to a small thai restaurant, with plastic chairs and some wooden chairs and with a lot of lights around it. Order [mogatar] (don't know how it's spelled) and enjoy a perfect dinner where you cook your own meat and vegetables over a pot of charcoal. The couple owning the restaurant are very nice and we ended up eating there every night.

A gem of a hotel - clean & close to the beach”
i loved this resort. i came to koh phangan not expecting much and i really fell in love with this place. it is the kind of place that just allows you to relax and breathe. and the beach is pretty. and there are massages on the beach. it is heavenly to listen to the waves on the sea as you get your massage. at night i looked up to the sky and saw thousands of stars. so this is the kind of place that i would come to if i want to unwind, or to have some "me-time", to meditate or read or write. i would like to stay a lot longer. the food at the restaurant by the beach is good. there are also other restaurants of other resorts to try to and i tried some of those too and they too were good. so this is one place that i would really love to come back to stay a lot longer

A little gem right on the beach! ”
I absolutely LOVED this place. I was traveling as part of a group for a friend's birthday, but I wanted to book my own place (so I could have some personal space). Thongtapan was a 5 minute walk from my friends' Airbnb, it was right on the beach, the rooms were well decorated, comfortable, and clean, the restrurant was delicious, and the staff were wonderful! I actually decided to stay an extra night, and the staff were so accommodating and helpful. I will definitely be back to visit again, and I plan on staying at Thongtapan! Thank you so much for the lovely stay.

Great place, great location, great value”
We stayed in the 2 bed family villa. Large double in one room and 2 singles in the other. Both have ensuite shower room. There is a veranda with table snd chair for 4 and a hammock. Villa is just 20m from beach down about 10 steps. Room is vlean and aircin eorked well. Room with double bed had large fridge for general use. The beach is amazing possibly the best i have ever visited. Breakfast was included and served in beach restaurant. A 250m walk slong beach bring you to village main street with around 15 bars and restsurants all basic but grwat food and value eg massaman curry around 150 baht. Pizza around 300 baht. There are a couple of 5* hotels st each end of beach that serve posh food but at posh prices. Would def recomend Thongtapan probably best place on beach for value and relaxed chilled out time
