This hotel has good value for money due to the location to the vicinity of the back beach, with the street leading to it littered with lots of street food. However as my title shows, there are maybe 3 (or more?) Hotels with the name Thuy Van hotel in Vung Tau. This one is smack in the middle of lots of rows of stalls and shops selling everything from trinkets to fruits to seafood. It is joined by the Sunrise hotel under the same management. A clean and well located budget hotel.

I stayed here for a number of months whilst working in Vung Tau. The family who own the hotel are really friendly and helpful, they let me borrow a bicycle to get around. The rooms are clean and the location is great.

When I arrived the receptionist was showering so I couldn't check in for 10 minutes. The room had one towel and zero toilet paper. My room was on the street side of the building so the large "HOTEL" sign was flashing red light into my room (even over the black out curtains) all night. It was a godsend since I had spend all day traveling and just wanted to sleep, but the hotel certainly isn't nice.
