The bungalows are very basic but the views and the surroundings are amazing, it is like living on a beach waking up with the waves and blue sea, an amazing stay and well worth the money, staff nice with some lovely dogs and the menu is good as well very cheap with wonderful views. Excellent will stay again and again.

Most beautiful part of the beach”

If you don't mind not having hot water in the room this place is amazing. It is right on the beach, super clean, and especially super quite. sometimes we woke up to coconuts dropping to the roof from trees. and even that was very cozy. Loved the place Food from the restaurant was ok. but for vegetarian food they lack creativity. They can offer more thai style breakfast for cultural originality. We stayed there for 10 days, we couldn't figure out what thai people eat for breakfast

Very basic huts, but you have all you need, roof above your head, wide bed to sleep, private bathroom, palms, white sand and clear water just few steps away from your hut. Stuff is very nice and food in the restaurant is delicious.

      We love the Tiger hut”

      location, food, and staff

It's hard to say that Tiger Hut is a 1-star hotel. The rooms are very basic, but the location the staff and the food are AMAZING! All of those things together make up for the basic/simplicity of the rooms. This was our second time staying here, and it was just as great as the first. We highly recommend Tiger Hut. The pictures are true to what Tiger Hut is.

      Another exciting trip here”

      Beach, Dog and experience

This was my second trip here in a matter of week and I enjoyed it once again, it is a hut with with a bed and a shower so dont expect nothing else, its a cheap room and a very good experience. The views are amazing and the sea and beach just 10 metres from your room is amazing. This is a great place to stay if you like the beach, enjoy it instead of moaning about it. There is a lovely little dog on the resort whos leg got broken and hasnt been cured properly, so please take care of her. Enjoy the place, like I did.

I really enjoyed the whole experience.”

      dogs, beach views, location

I am not going to come on here and slate the place, it was a cheap room and thats what you pay for. I paid 4 pounds a night for the room and stayed 6 nights so I am not complaining at all. It is a great experience and the view outside your hut is amazing. It is a beach hut, with a bed and a shower, do not expect nothing more. There is a lovely dog on this resort whos leg got run over by the owner by accident. They never took it to the vets or nothing. So please look after her, she is beautiful. I would come again to this resort as I enjoyed the whole experience. I will miss the place very much. Thunder, lightening, bugs, creatures, on a beach, amazing experience you dont often see. I was 10 metres from the sea. Great to wake up to every day.

      Simple bungalows for beach-lovers”

      On the beach, food, price

We stayed to Tiger Hut for 4 nights, when we arrived we were unsure if we'd stay longer than one night but we realised it was amazing to be directly on the beach so despite the basic bungalow we stayed. In the morning we enjoy the large beachfront restaurant and bar, they cook a good and cheap breakfast.

The best beach hotel I've ever been to.”

The food, the view, the location!!

This was the perfect end to our year long adventure. We needed somewhere to relax and just be us. No wifi, no connection to the outside world, and it was just THAT! The food was the best on the island, the staff was friendly and the view was just impecable. The huts are definitely small, but so worth it. Its paradise. Its the best place to relax and just be.

If you looking for stay just on beach in unclean rooms here you go. You may finds aunts, or some insects here n there and bathroom. But One need to do scarifies if you are low on budget and wants to stay on beach. Ocean is amazingly beautiful which compensate other shortcums. Yes, they could do little bit renovation and keep clean then it will be best place to stay.

worst tourist reception in all my entire life!!”

The receptionist/owner of this place is one of the rudest person I've ever met! We had a booking of 5 days in Tiger Hut and when we arrived there the receptionist seemed annoyed, as if we had disturbed while watching tv.He wanted me to sign a receipt of a booking with a wrong date of check out (I don't know why!!!) when we refused he became nervous and he starts to speak in Thai so we could not understand. During our stay we went to him asking for some information and every time it became really upset and nervous. One day it was sleeping at the reception at 11 am and we needed to ask him for a motorbike, he woke up, he saw us and he just left without say anything I think because it was upset that we woke up him. It was the last time we saw him because fortunately we found the bungalow Kp Hut and we went there for breakfast all the morning, lunch, we did the laundry and we rented the motorbike! The only positive thing was the view from the bungalow and the beach but is not the only one

      The simplicity best”

Obviously one can find cleaner and better hostel on Koh Chang island. But... we really enjoyed our 4 nights in Tiger Hut. Bungalows are absolutely basic but still have fan indoor shower and toilet. Yes rooms are delapidated. The only socket was almost broken and there were no single hook for staff. But bedclothes were clean. No hot water (do you really need it when +33 degrees outside?). The best thing is location right on the centre of Klong Prao and I dare to state it's the best piece of beach. Village with shops market and street food are in 1 km but we rented motobike and experienced no troubles to get to. We guess the hotel simplicity helped us to feel the nature without comfort spoiler.

      Mixed feelings”

I enjoyed my stay at Tiger Huts mostly because of the location, right on the nice Khlong Phrao beach which is peaceful and offers nice beach restaurants, and for the cuteness of the very photogenic beach bungallows. But on the other hand the staff is not nice, nor smiley nor helpful, there is no wifi and you should expect some ants in your bungallow bathroom - keep in mind that you're in the nature so stay away if you're afraid of bugs. The bungallows have private bathroom with cold water (but you don't need hot water anyway). It takes between 10 and 15 mins to join the main road from where you can take a taxi to go to other parts of the island. I stayed for my last 2 nights in Koh Chang at KP Huts right besides Tiger Hut and the bungallows are more comfortable and there is wifi!

      Basic on the beach”

Beach location, sound of sea, view of sea.

A perfect place, to just sit on the porch, drink, read and occasionally wet yourself in the sea. OK food, and a cold beer just a few steps away. Really uncomfortable mattresses, and really crappy and loud fan, only one elec. outlet, so bring a splitter so you dont have to unplug fan while charging your phone. 10 min walk to main road, for 7-11, and plethora of food. Staff uninterested and dull, but who cares, when the view is fantastic!

Great Location but Poor Service and Accomodation”

Right on a beautiful and peaceful beach, private bath, private bungalow

The hut is very dingy and cold. They give you some tiny, paper-thin shawls instead of a blanket and are nasty to you if you ask for more. I slept in my cold weather gear and woke up sick the next day. Plus instead of a mattress you get a box spring. Good luck sleeping. Even the sound of the waves don't make up for it. The hotel staff are very rude overall.

      Beautiful spot. Good relation quality/price”

      location

It is one of the most beautiful resorts for people who like nature. My bungalow is ideally located, just 15 feets from the sea, nothing in between. Not all huts are equal. Some hut is well built, but to close to the restaurant (noise). Some hut has a nice ground floor, is calmer but has no window. Some hut stays on the front line, has no window, but here it doesn't matter, and is the most distant from the restaurant. It is a beautiful spot, the most beautiful I've ever been in Thailand and I come here since 26 years! The only disturbance is that many nights, to many for my gusto, it is noisy along all the beach at night time cause there is very often a resort or another having music that loud that you hear it whereever you are, though it is calmer than White Sand Beach. I booked only 3 nights in advance and made my mind up to spend my whole stay, that means 51 nights, here. It is at the same time the most convenient resort along this beauch (Klong Prao Beach). There is a resort called "The Hut" between the beach and the road where the surroundings aren't by far that nice, but the standard is much higher and the price is even lower if you stay one month. There are other cheap(er) resorts across the road but far from the beach, as well at the very end of the beach when you almost left it and still across the road. So this resort is ideally located and has a very good relation price/quality.

Amazing place, just needing a few basic upgrades.”

The view, cost and location on beach.

We read so many mixed reports of the Tiger Huts before we left for Koh Chang, and were laughed at upon departure from the previous hotel(Sea View resort)when we told them where we were going! We had booked two beach front sheds and this was definitely the most amazing position to wake up to on Koh Chang. Fantastic beach when the tide is out and great walks along it allowing you to discover some of the amazing little gems of bars and restaurants there. Facilities were basic, very basic. Take something to make the old mattresses more comfortable, or ask for more blankets when you arrive. No hot water, and unsure why when all that is needed is to run the water through some black piping on the roof and hey presto! Lots of bugs. Had to hose down the toilet every time with the shower as lots of ants. Mosquito nets are provided and we had coils to burn which seemed to work a treat. Food was cheap enough and tasty, but head out and find the stall across from 'Nid's' out on the main road, as this was some of the best and cheapest food we had in Thailand. Clean too! Location is amazing, but you will really need to hire a moped to get out and about, as the resort is a mile or so down a single track road and taxis are not willing to come down and only take you a short distance. Staff could be friendlier as they were unwilling to help on a few occasions, but hey we all have bad days right? Cheer up little guy! Overall I would recommend Tiger Huts for peace and tranquillity, views and beach, but just remember that it takes a while to get used to having a cold shower each morning!! Also a tin of expanding foam or some Gaffa tape to plug the gaps and stop the bugs getting in would help!! Have fun and look forward to reading more reviews.

      Perfect location, shabby huts!!!”

      location

After we first saw the inside of the hut, we wanted to leave immediately (stained bedsheet, huge holes in the mosquito net and about two dozen mosquitoes in the very basic bathroom). Since we had already payed at agoda.com, we decided to give it a try and ended up staying the remaining time: the view of palm trees & beach out of the window, while still in bed is great + it is just a few meters for a morning/midday/afternoon/evening/ night swim. We had our own mosquito net + pillow cases for the bed and scared the bathroom mosquitos away with an anti-mosquito incense. If you don't need any comfort, this place is great!

The room is very basic. No Internet. There are bugs (surprisingly no mosquitoes though). Need a scooter to get to and from....but this place is perfect! and you are on a tranquil beach, the ocean lapping quietly at your door, palm trees and fishing boats, and sunsets from your own balcony. best place close to BKK for beaches and waterfalls”

it was close the ocean, they served some delicious food, and it wasn't too expensive

We kept an eye open for other bungalows while driving around in the same price range but we finally realized as far as beachfront accommodations go this was as cheap as it gets. All in all you get what you pay for but my GF did get quite a few nasty bed bug bites. Aside from that a pretty pleasant stay. The food was great and not too expensive. I would only recommend this place to budget/backpacker traveler's. Hope the feedback was useful!
