I stayed at Hotel Time in Malacca during the recent CNY holiday. Overall, it’s a mixed bag—great location and decent comfort, but a few maintenance issues hold it back. Location: 10/10 The location is absolutely ideal. It is just a few hundred meters' walk to Pahlawan Megamall and the Hatten Hotel bus station, making it perfect for shoppers and travelers. Right on the corner of the road, about 20 meters from the hotel, there is a local coffee shop/restaurant. There is also a 7-Eleven right next to the restaurant. For location and price, this hotel is a great choice. The Room: · Size: The room is small but decent. It has everything you need without feeling too cramped. · Comfort: The bed is comfortable to sleep in. The sheets, blanket, and pillow covers were clean and fresh. · Amenities: My room had a window for natural light, plus a table and chair where I could enjoy my morning coffee. · Electronics: · There is an electric water kettle with complimentary 2-in-1 coffee and bottled water—a nice touch. · The Smart TV comes with local Malaysian channels. · Note on Streaming: The YouTube app crashes after a few minutes of use, which was frustrating. However, Netflix works perfectly fine as long as you have an active account to log in with. The Bathroom: · The toilet and bathroom were clean, which is the most important thing. · Major Issue: There is no water heater for the shower. Be prepared to shiver through cold showers, which is not pleasant in the morning or after a long day out. Maintenance & Noise: · Doors: The closet door cannot be fully closed. The folding doors for the bathroom are also somewhat misaligned and don't close properly. These small details need fixing. · Soundproofing: This was a significant issue. Voices of people walking and talking outside the room can be clearly heard. If you are a light sleeper, bring earplugs or ask for a quieter room. Final Verdict: You are paying for the location. If you just need a clean, cheap place to crash and are out exploring Malacca all day, it serves its purpose. However, be aware that you will be taking cold showers and you might hear your neighbors.
