The only problem was the noise from renovation next door or the other side of our wall, which started before 7am, while we checked in about 1am (due to late flight), so we really wanted to sleep a bit more.
Great cheap spot,”
Cheap and tidy for what you pay. Great location if you want to be in the thick of it.
will stay here again if I visit Hanoi”
meets my expectation & good price I love this hotel and I will stay here again & again very nice room, good location for nightlife, close to big road so it's easy to take a taxi or go outside the Old Town.
Friendly Staff in a great location”
This was our second hotel in Old Quarter. The first was in a location that was intensely busy which made it uncomfortable and really made us appreciate Time Hotel's location when we got there. Excellent location still in the heart of Old Quarter but not hectic like some others. 5 minute walk to Hoan Kiem and very close to many other sites. Staff was excellent the entire 9 nights we stayed (in total). We stayed in 3 rooms and each had a little something wrong with it (1st bad shower, second bad WiFi, 3rd bad coffee pot). WiFi was nice and strong on the 3rd floor. My only real complaint was the renovations in the hotel which got noisy at times. We worked in the hotel room during the day but were able to use headphones to cover up the noise. It was bearable if you are not easily bothered but it would have been nice to have been warned beforehand.
The best value for money in the old town without comprising on quality and comfort”
Small but tasteful polished and clean. Delightful staff. Good breakfast by normal budget hotel standards in a pleasant dining envronment. Even though its only around 2.5 stars, it is possible to feel a little bit special on a budget. Superbly located close (but not too close) to a good variety of food, drink and hospitality.
Superb Value for money”
Good location. Pleasant staff. Modest but good breakfast with pleasant dining facilities. Hotel was renovated approximately 5 years ago and a few cosmetic shortcuts are becoming evident but remains one of the best value hotels without compromising on comfort and cleanliness. Only a minutes walk to bustling Ma May st with its abundance of good food and drink, but being distance enough for some comparative peace and quiet. Less than 5 minutes walk to Đong Xuan market. For lovers of good quaity snout-to-tail dining, it's about 5 doors south of the best chaó lòng (peppery rice porridge with chitterlings) in town, if not the entire country.
Cheap and convenient place to stay.”
Location is the main reason to stay there. My room tv was not working and the water heater was repaired on the 2nd day. Would recommended for it location and price. Very convenient to walk to lake, the railway bridge, night market and other attractions. Plenty of happen at night around the hotel.
I changed three rooms. Rooms are damp. Some rooms do not have toiletries in the bathroom. After checking in, the room was not ready. I went down to the reception on the 3rd floor. He gave me another room. There was no bathroom wc in the room. When I went down again, I gave another room. You must have a WC in the room. No moisture. No windows in the rooms. Toothbrush is soap in bathroom. The rooms are narrow and small in general. Not suitable for family with children.
Decent hotel in a decent place for a decent price”
The hotel was very strategically located in heart of old quarter Hanoi so it made walking to explore the place a breeze. Although do double check the address of the hotel before you get in a cab as google maps gives two different addresses. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel itself was small and simple but if all you're looking for is a place to shower and rest, then it's worth the cost.
Hotel With Very Helpful Staff”
It's been a wonderful time here. The staff are very kind, friendly and helpful. When we had problem with a bus company that did not pick us up on time (2 hours late), the staff helped us to contact them many times till we got a good news. Yet it is a small hotel, the staff are great and the service is good. I pray that the staff who helped us get long life success.
Clean room, great breakfast, friendly staff”
The hotel is located in the city center so you can reach everything easily. The beach is only 5-10 mins walk away (depends on which beach you're going). The room was very bright, quiet and clean. Staff is very helpful. We did not use the swimming pool as it's a bit small and facing the busy road. All in all, we loved this hotel and we'd be happy to stay here next time too.
Good Value and Services”
I enjoyed the stay at this cosy place. I had to return to Hanoi late at night from Sapa mountain valley and they were able to accommodate my arrival, even giving me a free upgrade to a larger deluxe room with a window view. The faciilities were satisfactory though a bit worn. But with towels, hot water, toiletries and a clean bed, it was definitely welcome after a long trip from a super cold Sapa. The front desk managers Daisy and Dat were so friendly and helpful with tour recommendations and eating options around the hotel area-- even late at night. Hotel also offers tour agency services. Area around Dao Duy Tu street where hotel is located, is central to all that Old Quarter has to offer--food, drinks, cafes, pubs, Circle K convenience stores, tour agencies, etc. But not so noisy at night because its a little bit off the noisiest parts of the area. Price point is good value too. Highly recommended!
Great Value for Money”
Extremely comfortable rooms. Compact yet sufficiently spacious. Staff were delightful from the receptionists to the housekeeping and breakfast staff. Hotel was currently undergoing maintenance which unfortunately started earlier in the morning than we'd have preferred. Rates were heavily discounted and we made no hesitation in re-booking for our last 3 days in Ha Noi before departing. Plenty of good food nearby - some with Western menus.
Ask Anna for advice”
The quality of the hotel is excellent for what the hotel charges. And if they cannot accommodate you, they have a hotel next door that they are doing business with. Breakfast and bottled water is included in the hotel rate. Good value for money. The staff, particularly Anna, who also takes care of city tours, and Halong Bay tours is very friendly and very knowledgeable about her city. She knows how best to do things, like where to get a meal, when to go to the museums or the mausoleum of Uncle Ho. She'll even call you a cab that has a lower flagdown rate and estimate that you will pay only so much to get to your destination. I am very thankful that I stayed here. I arrived from an early morning flight into Hanoi (HAN/VVNB). I arrived at about 0930H. A hotel's standard check in time is between 1200 to 1400H. Anna and her colleagues let me have my room at 1000H and without stretching the truth too much, I must have been asleep at 1005H. That is how exhausted I was that day. Thank you very much for the courtesy extended Anna :)
This hotel has the nicest staff ever!”
it was amazing! it's you're typical budget hotel but the staff makes the difference. they are super nice and were very helpful! they even planned the whole trip! and we definitely saved a lot because of them! we ended up staying for 10 days! :)
Great little hotel in amazing location”
For £10 a night this hotel is the best value for money I've ever had, the hotel staff were extremely friendly, professional, spoke excellent English and could not do enough to help. When I was taken ill with a stomach bug (I didn't eat in the hotel) the staff kept bringing me water and even went to the pharmacy to get me some drugs. The room was small but easily big enough for one person, sand had a desk with high speed internet. The trips arranged by the hotel were very good and inexpensive. The location though is the best thing about this hotel, you're right in the middle of the old quarter and close to all the major sites, there are plenty of bars and places to eat within a few minutes walk - both local and western and best of all the famous Bia Hoi corner is a mere 5min stumbling away. I stayed for 6 weeks and couldn't find fault, though the breakfast options were limited but with so much cheap food on your doorstep I never found that an issue. If I ever come back to Hanoi I'll be staying here.
very comfortable, satisfactory with my stay”
This hotel is something special- a lovely atmosphere where the staff make you feel amazing, without being pushy. The room great with all facilities that you would require. Laundry service is quick and very cheap. You can choose to book trips with the staff if you wish- we did Ha Long Bay which was very good All the staff, too many to mention, were simply fantastic. The breakfast was delicious, and the guy who served breakfast was very cheery and friendly. A must stay here when travel to hanoi
Too good for the price paid”
Beyond perfect, especially after a terrible night with bell and rooster singing whole night through adn early morning at a hotel near the Church area. And after series of nuisances/bad feelings checking nearly 10 other hotels/guesthouses in the same price range. Just PURELY heaven staying at The Time. Also highly recommended is Half Man Half Noodle at 62 Dao Duy Tu (same street). Food and others are cute as their name card which says "Drink here or we shoot the puppy:)"
Awesome place! awesome staff!”
Staff is great helpful, caring and with really good english. the hotel is clean, and comfortable, breakfast is good! anything we needed the staff helped us our in a spontaneous and genuin way. If I go back to Hanoi I will stay there again!
Old room with molds”
The room is old, moldy and has an odor. For the same price, you can book a better hotel in the same area. Location is good though, it's at the center of Old Quarter, near shops and restaurants. Staff was friendly. We didn't have a chance to try the breakfast.
Free Wi-Fi in all rooms!
