"The interconnecting rooms were great for our children and the pool, terrace and roof bar were lovely, particularly as a setting for breakfast."

Very good hotel in perfect location”
I really enjoyed my time in Tirant Hotel. I have spent 5 nights with several check ins and check outs because I was travelling to other places too but Hanoi and Tirant hotel were my base. The hotel is perfectly located in the old quarter of Hanoi. The staff was great, very helpful, they did not miss anything and helped me to organize tours for halong bay and other locations and several pick ups from the airport and drop off. One day I had a very early check out because I had a flight at 7am so I left from the hotel at 5am and they gave me a breakfast box, I really appreciated it, considering the normal breakfast service starts at 6.30 am. The room are spacious and clean, very comfortable bed and good shower. Maybe the only cons is that not every room has a window, but that is due to the construction habits in Hanoi (especially in the old quarter) but was not a problem considering that I was not there to spend my time in my room but just to have a clean and comfortable room where to sleep and get a shower and relax between one tour and the next. I have nothing to complain
great location and helpful and pleasant staff”
this was our first stay in hanoi and was very pleased with the tirant hotel. the location is near the lake adjacent to old quarter, and within walking distance of all shopping and dining. It offered a comfortable room at a very affordable price. While there are other hotels in the area of comparable quality, i dont think they are any better than tirant, and the staff here really went out of their way to be helpful in all aspects, and the reception staffs english skills are excellent. There was construction going on in the upper floors and was quite noisy, but hanoi in general is not a quiet place to relax. it is a busy, noisy city. we enjoyed it!
Opulence from a bygone era”
From the moment you walk in to this hotel it exudes style and class. The staff go out of their way to ensure an amazing and memorable experience. Thanks to Ken for allowing us to check in at 12h00 - it meant a great deal. Also Nancy for arranging our Halong Bay Cruise. Nancy has been a real gem. Rooms are large and spacious and ornately decorated with attention to the finest detail. Breakfast is certainly one of the best I've experienced in Vietnam. Be careful though, you get charged a pretty penny for the specialty coffees (cappuccino etc) So that's the good, and as you can see from all my reviews I always find the positive and would rather steer away from reviewing a place of it is bad... In the spirit of giving constructive feedback, there are a few recommendations I would like to make... Firstly we booked this hotel and paid the premium for the convenience of a swimming pool. They closed the pool for an entire day to clean it, citing that so many people have been using it in this heat that it was warranted. Now I believe that a cleaning routine should be carried out in the evenings after closing time. When I enquired why the hotel doesn't arrange for us to use neighbouring hotel's swimming pool, I was told that other hotels do not offer this service to outsiders... Funny that because right across the road is the May De Ville hotel and they advertise that their swimming pool is available for a fee. Point to note after the above was written - the staff were super at handling our dissatisfaction and gave us a drinks voucher as a gesture for the inconvenience. Don, Ken and the Tirant team are real assets to the Tirant Hotel. That brings me to the second point about the Tirant's swimming pool... It closes ridiculously early, while across the road the May De Ville pool closes at 22h00. Would this have made me stay at the May De Ville instead... sadly definitely. Other than the above, there is construction going on next door, so you will he
This was easily the best hotel I stayed in during my four week trip throughout Asia. This was also the cheapest hotel I stayed in during my trip throughout Asia, so value for money was incredible! Upon arrival we realised we had only booked a room for one person but that was no problem they upgraded us free of charge to a bigger room. The staff here are incredible and speak at least two or three languages. They organised our trip to Ha Long bay for us (Greyline cruises is highly recommended) - we booked at 5pm on a tuesday and were picked up at 7am the next morning. When we returned to the hotel we were told that our room wasn't available as the hotel was fully booked and the family who were meant to be leaving had food poisoning and needed to stay another night, they were extremely apologetic and organised for us to stay at a hotel two doors down for the night which was no problem for us! When we came back to Tirant for our final three days they had upgraded us to the top floor suite! The last day in Hanoi was my birthday and the staff all came down at breakfast with a cake - made especially by their chef - and sung me happy birthday! In terms of location you can not beat this hotel. Nestled in the back streets of the Old Quarter the famous night market is located right at the end of the road and the main square and lake is a 2 minute walk down the street. The hotel also has a rooftop pool and restaurant which are both recommended. A truly memorable stay! Make sure you drink the 'welcome' tea :)
Great find in Old Quarter!”
Our stay at the Tirant hotel was exceptional. I can not say enough good things about this hotel. Great rooms, great location, fair price and very very clean. The staff was excellent... especially Bella! She was very attentive to all the hotels guests... and she made sure every day that EVERYBODY got out to their tours on time. I thought she was the hotel manager she was so great! On our second visit to the Tirant Hotel we were once again greeted by Bella. She was kind enough to upgrade our room which we thought was so amazing! She also arranged a taxi to the airport in the morning for us... and to our surprise...she arranged for their private car to take us instead. How amazing is that! Thank you to Bella and the Tirant Hotel for making our trip to Hanoi so much more amazing!!!
An oasis in the chaos!”
I totally enjoyed my stay at the Tirant Hotel. Just outside you have the constant hustle-bustle of the Old Quarter, but once you get inside your room (especially the suite room and upper floors)you find much peace and comfort. The Skyline (roof-top)Restaurant / Bar has amazing views of this area of Hanoi and good (a bit pricey by comparison)food. Overall, the Tirant is one of the best choices for a hotel, in the Old Quarter.
Comfortable hotel in busy Hanoi”
The Tirant Hotel was a great place to stay in the heart of the Old Quarter. We walked everywhere we needed to go. Hanoi is chaotic and it was great to have a hotel within walking distance to the Lake, the Markets, Bars etc. The buffet breakfast was nice and had a variety of food available. The rooftop bar offered great views of the surrounding areas and it was relaxing to sit and enjoy the street life below. The pool could be best described as a large jacuzzi without the jets! The Tirant offers aiport pick up and drop off which is a great advantage. I would recommend staying here.
Exceptional Service, Polite Staff”
When we're looking for hotels in Hanoi, it's hard for us to believe that most hotels have exceptional ratings until we experience it ourselves. The location and facilities of Tirant hotel are very good, most specially their service. All staff we met are polite, always smiling and ready to serve. We have also been upgraded to a larger room for free and Ms Hanna is very accommodating. The bell boys are always ready to lend a hand. The managers in Ciel Spa are very nice, they even gave me a free head, shoulder and back massage even if my choice of service is just Foot Reflexology. It was a very relaxing massage. On the day we left, the manager in charge gave us $10 discount on car service to the airport because of the repair they made in the AC in our room. For us, it's not really a hassle as it only took them 10 mins but we're so glad with their gestures. They really made sure that we have a very nice stay. There are many great hotels in Hanoi because of its location but I definitely recommend Tirant because of their service.
We stayed 4 nights at Tirant hotel and we truely enjoyed ourselves. The service counter staff with a specialist greeted us wit a welcome drink n introduced us around places to visit in Hanoi. Located within old quarters, Tirant hotel id within walking distance to all eateries, lake and night market. Except for the breakfast menus which is the same almost everyday, i have no other feedback of this fabulous hotel stay. Thumbsup to the service and hotel quality.
Good value hotel in the old quarter or Hanoi - with a great spa.”
Firstly If you pick this hotel, don't forget to try the Ciel Spa on the ground floor - Siamese massages from Rose and Anna were the best we have ever had, and the spa receptionist Teresa Dang is the most delightful and helpful young lady you could ever wish to meet. This really made our holiday. Didn't know what to expect in the old quarter so picked this hotel from the Agoda reviews. Location is a fascinating, chaotic noisy rabbit warren of side streets jamb packed with little shops, street vendors and countless scooters. All the buildings are extremely narrow, so not much flexibility to create spacious hotels. We looked at a few, including their rooms, and decided Tirant was probably one of the better choices. We were upgraded to an executive room on the 7th floor with rather a large balcony, a very comfortable and clean bed and good ensuite with shower. The breakfast buffet has an excellent high location with good views and an adequate but not extensive range of food. There is a small pool on the 11th floor, it did not seem to be used much during our visit. A meal or drink on the rooftop restaurant/bar is a must - great views of the city. Location is very close to a large lake with an island temple and the water puppet theatre which was very entertaining. Some minor issues with air-conditioner and leaking shower which were swiftly attended to. Staff are all very friendly and helpful. Some of the rooms could do with a make-over but overall we would recommend this hotel to those looking for value in the old quarter of Hanoi.
Perfection in Hanoi”
The Tirant is located in the Old Quarter near the Hoam Kiem Lake. Within walking distance there are great restaurants and places for shopping. The hotel has a very good breakfast buffet, a great pool on the roof and views of the entire city from the restaurant/bar. Hanna at the front desk was extremely helpful and provided us excellent advice when needed. Directy next door is an excellent travel agency that helped with our trip to HaoLong Bay. Vickie is the owner and operator and is very accommodating and willing to help. This is the second time I've stayed at the Tirant and would definitely stay there again when I'm in Hanoi.
Fabulous hotel, best location, great staff”
We chose the Tirant based on the only 3 reviews on Agoda as it was brand new and we were not disappointed. Tirant is in a fantastic location in the heart of the Old Quarter, walking distance to everywhere. We were upgraded from a standard room to Deluxe and it was fabulous. The only downside was that the window faced directly into another building, so there was no natural light. Otherwise it was extremely comfortable with very good fittings including a desktop PC. The buffet breakfast was one of the best we have had anywhere. The staff were also the most friendly we encountered in Vietnam and could not do enough to help you. We thank them for their efforts in making our stay there simply fabulous. We thoroughly recommend the Tirant.
For its price, a very elegant hotel”
I'd normally book a 4 or 5-star hotel for our travels. There are however very few of that category in Hanoi and found them to be very expensive. Since we are doing tours most of the time, I checked the 3-star hotels. I was surprised to see hundreds in that category, exhausted after looking at probably 20 hotels, I checked with my Halong Bay tour operator what he'd recommend. Am glad I asked as he directed me to Tirant. Never mind how outside of the hotel is (as it's Old Quarter so there's many people, vendors, dirty) but as soon as you step into the hotel, it's like you're transported to a different place. The interiors at the lobby, the rooms, the dining -- are all just lovely, and the service is great.
If you don't want a cheap and basic place, but also don't want an over priced high end establishment where a beer cost 20 times the street price, then Tirant I think is the perfect middle ground. Staff are excellent, in fact if there was another word to say better than that I'd use it - they really do have customer service. Hana, Chester, Joy, Jake are just some of the staff who made our stay most memorable. Chester's ice coffee was a work of art! The location is great, just a few minutes walk to the lake or into the Old Quarter. The pool is relaxing, but I didn't get to the gym. The restaurant on the 12th floor has a great view as does the roof top bar. Over the past 14 years we have stayed at 5 hotels in Ha Noi from budget to high end, but as you can guess I highly recommend Tirant and will be staying there for any future visits
Great location in Old quarter”
Tirant Hotel is centrally located for both seeing the main sites in old quarter and for shopping. Lake is close by for rest and watching Hanoi life-in-action. The room i stayed in was small (sufficient for 1 person), clean and quiet. Breakfast was plentiful. Staff were knowledgeable about sites around Hanoi - and spoke English well. Will stay again when next in Hanoi
Great hotel, better than we expected”
we hit jackpot when we booked tirant hotel through agoda. the hotel was extremely well appointed, very reasonably priced and the staff were fantastic, nothing was too much trouble. we especially recommend mandy le, she was such a friendly, helpful person during our stay there. she organised tours, our overnight train trip, even ongoing flights to other areas of vietnam. our vietnam holiday would not have gone so smoothly if it wasn't for mandy's help and it was all done with a big smile! a thorough professional person indeed. we highly recommend tirant hotel to any traveller to hanoi, vietnam. colleen and greg, from australia
Best service and location ”
Reception was very warm and friendly on our arrival on the 29th Dec around 11.45am. A gentleman in suite even escort us to our room and explain the room facilities to us. Always a bell hop at the entrance to open the door and greet us throughout our stays. Clean room thanks to housekeeping. Restaurant food and service was good. The Gala dinner on the 31st Dec was a little disappointed with the food but with free flow of beverage and best is the service staff, making sure everyone is well serve, that alone make up for the food and there was live singers and music. Overall very everyone enjoy the party. Thank you to all the staffs of Tirant Hotel. Highly recommended Tirant to anyone visiting Hanoi. (Best location in Old Quater).
Friendly staff and good location. ”
Overall, we stayed at the Tirant Hotel for two nights. It was a nice hotel in a good location. Despite being in the middle of the old quarter, it was very quiet once you entered the hotel. Breakfast was ok, although nothing amazing. This wasn't surprising though given we didn't exactly pay a fortune to stay here. Best thing about the hotel was the staff very friendly and helpful. Their friendly attitudes gave the place a nice feel about it. Overall, couldn't fault the place for the price. Would happily stay there again.
Friendly, comfortable and convenient”
We enjoyed our stay at the Tirant Hotel and would definitely recommend it to friends. As a family of four (two adults & two children, ages 3 & 4.5), we found the suite a comfortable size. We had requested an extra bed, which there was sufficient space for. The extra bed was a small double, but large enough for our two children to share. The suite also had a good sized balcony, which overlooked the street. It was nice to sit there in the evening whilst the children were sleeping. The hotel also has an upstairs bar and a rooftop swimming pool. The pool is not large but was great for the children to use. It is a deep pool, so swimming aids would be advisable for unconfident swimmers. From the bar there is a good view of the lake across the rooftops of local houses. Hoan Kiem lake is within easy walking distance of the hotel (5 - 10 minutes), as is the Water Puppet Theatre. The hotel is also in a good location to access the French Quarter and the other major sites towards the West Lake. The hotel staff were great. They helped arrange airport collections and pickups, as well as called local taxis for us. They were always friendly and ensured we felt very welcome. The buffet breakfast was the same each day, so not very varied, but the quality of the food was good & included Western as well as Asian dishes. There was also a chef who would cook fresh omelettes. We had a very early check-out so left before breakfast started but the hotel thoughtfully packed us each a takeaway breakfast, without us requesting it in advance.
This was our fourth trip to Hanoi and our first stay at The Tirant Hotel. It was smooth, comfortable and overall terrific. The hotel's customer care specialist , Hanna was fantastic and made sure any questions were answered and any needs were met. She is devoted to making sure your stay is excellent. The entire staff deserves a round of applause for their gracious service. Our room, The Classic, wonderful, comfortable, cleaner than clean. Our welcome bottle of wine made for a very personal and surprising touch. The breakfast buffet was also a very good experience. The food was fresh, plentiful and the cooks were ready to prepare your food to your liking.Thank you to The Tirant and their staff. You will be seeing us again on our next trip to Hanoi.
