Needs attention ”
Beautiful location , property needs attention . Had to move to hotel next door after being deserted by staff. Door didn't lock, bathroom had infestation .Mattress needs replacing along with all the bedding . No mosquito net. Place was dirty . Really glad they took us in next door . Would not have slept a wink in this place.

Quirky/unique homage' to a rajah villa ”
Marble villa suite- 2 storey octagonal timber Full bathroom downstairs incl marble inground bath plus toilet/basin upstairs Set in the restored Tirtagangga water palace gardens ( much of which was destroyed on 1963 eruptions) You feel like the rajah may have left only the day before. Villa sited on rainforest hill slope at rear of gardens with glorious overview of gardens and the Lombok strait Butterflies swallows, frogs and ponds with fish and coelacanth which ring the villa. Fish food provided to feed the fish. Glorious ( freezing cold spring fed :)) plunge pool immediately in front Separate octagonal dining pavilion seats 6 plus cushioned reclining rajah style roofed day pavilion 3mx3m Extremely helpful concierge Breakfast plentiful, tasty, eggs pancakes, fruit etc Close by <30mtrs is the Tirtta Ayu restaurant 7am to 9pm where you can really blow the diet in style. There is no aircon - not that we needed it and fitted mosquito nets are provided on huge comfy bed upstairs- accommodation seems to be tuned to 2 pax but a 3rd can be comfortably accommodated downstairs on a couch/day bed. The water fountain statue feeding the plunge pool may be better turned off at night - can sound like a filling bath after lights out. Note there are only 2 villas available the Lion villa and the Marble villa We stayed in the Marble villa - and i loved it.

Love it!”
Uniqueness, charm, location
I love the villas and have stayed there before. They are a wonderful way to introduce friends to one of Bali's many faces. There is nothing quite like them anywhere else that I know of. The water palace itself is beautiful, of course, and to be able to enjoy it in the peace of the evening when all the other visitors have gone is a privilege. Of course, they cannot control external factors and this is Bali where someone outside the park can decide to rev their motorcycles in the middle of the night so guests must be tolerant if something like this occurs! It is such a delightful place to stay that even having just had such a night, I cannot wait to return!

Big dissappointment”
location and view only
very disappointed.rooms not that clean or well prepared. My brother and his wife had an ant nest in the bed.Had booked two rooms mine wasn,t a room ,they pushed to chairs together with a coffee table and placed apiece of foam covered by a sarong over it,in the lounge area, mosquitos were a huge problem as doors and windows didn,t seal properly.Do your self a big favour and book in next door as I had to as couldn,t stand to stay there. Will be speaking to Agoda and trying to get my money back.

To have the water palace to ourselves earlyIn the morning and the evening was a delight, listening to the sounds of nature as the light changed. The beds were extremely comfortable.

Unique accomdation with beautiful surroundings”
Beautiful surroundings and great resturant near by
There are only two villas, the Lion and Marble. We booked the Lion but were upgraded to the Marble Villa which is more suitable for children. The Marble Villa is also bigger with sofa bed and king-size bed upstairs with a beautiful view of the Water Palace. It also had an expansive garden/outdoor space than the Lion Villa. This is a very beautiful and special place and one of the best places we found in Bali- great for relaxing with little fish ponds, waterfalls, and daybed sala in the garden. Our children spend hours watching and feeding the fish in the ponds around the villa. In the evening, all is quiet except for the sounds of nature. Love it! Note: These villas are inside the Water Palace. There are no signs to direct you to the villa, so ask the restaurant inside the palace. Be sure to tell them that you are looking for either the Lion or the Marble Villa.

Charming beyond belief!”
Unique and charming design, location within the Tirta Gangga Water Gardens, friendly staff
The design of these two villas is completely unique: one hardly wants to venture out! All the garden-facing walls open completely so that when you sit in the comfort of the ikat-covered couches you are surrounded by greenery. I cannot imagine a lovelier place to spend a rainy afternoon reading or chatting with friends. Makes me want more rainy days! The loft bed is reached by spiral stairs and one weakens to the view across the water gardens. This IS the tropics so guests should be aware that one is rarely immune from the elements - a drip through the tiled roof, a snail or three in the bath - but the trade offs are more than worth these tiny reminders of where one is. There seemed to always be a breeze even during the heat of the day and I was happy to have cozy coverings at night. Windra, the manger, is friendly and warm, and willing to accommodate. I can hardly wait to return.
