If you are looking for a place to get away, this is it! A wonderful private beach with white sand & blue water. The staff is THE BEST they are SO nice and the food there is just amazing. They helped us with all of our questions and it was just the most relaxing stay in Koh Phi Phi.
For those with different priorities- a pristine beach and coral reef”
You have to be honest about Tohko. It is simple. Let's start with the positive. It is the most wonderful quiet, private, beautiful beach with pristine corals and amazing fish right at your door step. The food is best we had in all our travels - Tong's mother does them all proud there. I also had a fabulous massage. And the people we met there, and playing pool with Tong, are all fabulous. We chose this accommodation bc we wanted to get away from crowds and frankly it is what we could afford. It isn't very clean - and if working on boats means that there is a work area that you have to walk through. It aint fancy. If I could do it over, I would pick one of his nicer bungalows with AC. No hot water we could live with, but the swelter of the room (have to keep it shut to keep out the mosquitoes) was too much. In spite of our complaints, this place was where we all had our best moments of our 5 week trip, snorkeling together and our night swim. It is absolutely worth a few nights stay.
Wonderful intimate tropical experience ”
The staff are regular people that will do anything for you without an ounce of pretense. There's no roads, no random vexations just a chosen few among the coconut trees. It's s the way phi phi should be experienced. The reef complex right there within yards of the beach is healthy as can be and we'll populated. Angel fish!
If you want fancy, this isn't the place for you. If you want a beautiful little spot with a a cottage treehouse feel to your stay that is close to nature, then book here! The owners and staff were fantastic and often went out of their way to help me out. Beach was lovely with a private feel as there are were not many people at the facility. I felt so relaxed during my stay. For the right person/people it is an amazing spot to stay. I would absolutely book there again.
Thoroughly enjoyed this getaway. Recommend booking the bamboo huts on tge beach as they're rustic, authentic & in good condition compared to the other buildings. It's a great hideaway and you can walk to Rutdee beach next door if you get bored with the mellow vibe. Definitely check your bill though. We were overcharged in the end because we didn't ask to see the itemized receipt.
Best Place. A Paradise!”
I just stayed for a night. Regretted my decision as it was not enough. Should book for atleast 2 days not more than 4 or you could get bored as this place is just a small get away from all the crowd to really sit back n relax. You can head out to Phi Phi main land for 100 baht twice daily. Food was awesome. Very traditional cooking. The two dogs, a golden retriever n a Pomeranian, will welcome u upon arrival. Book an aircon room if u need hot shower in the morning as it can get very cold. Otherwise u can stick with the normal huts which I would have preferred. Overall my stay was enjoyable and will return again.
Peace and quiet in paradise”
Great place. More reasonable in price than other places on the island. Friendly staff and great views of the ocean. Food is very good and reasonably priced (by Western standard prices) in the lobby. Would definitely visit again! Nice job!
Relaxing, beachy hotel!”
this hotel is the perfect getaway! located on a lovely private beach! i definitely recommend the bamboo huts with seaview and fan! it's so serene and relaxing to wake up to the sound of the waves crashing right below you! the staff are also so lovely and friendly. it's a delightful family run business and they go out of their way to help you! the food is also really great! they will arrange a half day trip to phi phi lei where you can see the beach where the movie the beach was filmed and go snorkeling in crystal clear waters. highly recommend!!!
Absolute paradise with world class service”
tohko beach resort is one of complete remote paradise. a resort nestled within its own forest,it is free from all the annoying tourists on the island. right out the front 50m off the beach you can snorked and see coral reefs which are not the absolute best in the world but not bad at all! we stayed in a bamboo beach front building which is equipped with only the very basics, but is clean, well built and has a very natural foresty feel to it. the staff are absolutely wonderful. the owners of the resort work there most hours of the day and give you the feeling of being family. they speak very good english and are willing to organise whatever you'd like be it a tour for snorkelling or even a taxi boat to the main pier. the resort is isolated and therefore pretty much the only place to eat is the restaurant which is very cheap! but if you like thai food and noodles etc you won't be disappointed, the food is delicious and is always very fast to be cooked. if you are someone who expects all the anemnities and want to stay in a 5 star hotel don't come here. but if you want to enjoy a piece of thai wonderland and love simplicity and prefer amazing views and the ocean coupled with the best service in the world, definitely recommend a visit!
Amazing Location/Good Service”
excellent location, neat rooms (we stayed in the beach front fan bunglow), beautiful and absolutely clean beach - only 20 mins away from pier. the staff at tohko was friendliest of all the hotels that we stayed at during our 6 day trip. absolutely value for money! travellers should just carry a mosquito repellent.
Amazing hideaway on Koh Phi Phi”
As previous reviewers have stated, this is not the place to go for crazy parties and lots of loud music. This is the place to go to get total relaxation and recharge your batteries with peace and quiet. The staff is great and do what they can do give you the best possible stay.
Nicest people on the island!”
Private beach, nicest staff ever, best food 10/10
Location location location”
A great spot to get away from it all. Only electricity from 6,pm to 6am but who cares. There is no hot water but a cold shower is great in the hot and humid conditions. Food at the resort is fine and reasonably priced considering everything has to be brought in by sea. It is great to visit the viewpoint once preferably at sunset but that means coming down the steep path off the top in semi darkness. But if you are fit enough it is well worth it. The boat transfer back was reliable and good value but expect a wet landing at both ends. The beach was a little stony at low tide but was clear for snorkeling. Would thoroughly recommend if you want to chill out and escape from the rat race for a few days with a reliable boat available to take you to the main town in the day. But if you want to boogie all night then this is not the location for you.
Rustic Beach Hut right on beach”
Beautiful sunrise in one room bamboo beach hut. Beautiful sunrise. Very. Private. Has a a front porch looking right over beach/ocean. Fall asleep to waves crashing . Bathroom with toilet, sink and cool shower... no hot water. Raised bed with mosquito net. Beach is beautiful,, swimming good. Sandy bottom. Food is good, not huge menu. Pool table outside. Bring bug spray. Don’t leave any food in room... animal came in at 2:30 am to eat chips/ door open. We loved this location.. a favourite. Very rustic untouched..
don't go there ”
don't go there , its very far from Phi Phi , so many mosquito , if u stay in bamboo room and if it rains , your room will be wet . no hot shower , no facilities , and this is first hotel in stay in thailand which don't provide complimentary water . don't go there , have so many better options .
Glamping in a great location ”
Pros: service, food, budget friendly, right on the beach, snorkeling is easy, adorable bungalow, hammock on front porch Cons: lots of mosquitos so bring bug spray, dirty mosquito nets, lots of trash We were there 3 nights and that’s just perfect amount of time. They will schedule island tours for you. Lovely staff
Beautifully rustic ”
Tohko was our own little bit of paradise and we had the most wonderful 4 nights stay with memories we shall treasure forever. The friendly staff, delicious food, amazing snorkelling and beautiful, quiet location made for a perfect stay. Our 8 and 10 year olds didn't want to leave. Yes be prepared for mosquitoes but if you want a tropical getaway without the frills then this place totally delivers.
This is paradise. The hosts are amazing, so kind and helpful. Other guests I made friends with were all very like minded, and we have great times day and night. Its very isolated which is exactly what I wanted - surrounded by perfect beach and sea, and jungle. There is another resort with a shop about 10 minutes walk along the sand - and also by boat can be taken back to the town and it only takes 15 minutes so if you crave some civilisation and noise its easily achieved. One day I walked to the town via trails in the jungle. Took around an hour and was a great experience (I wouldnt do it in the rainy season however!) . The whole island in general is a fantastic get away. But I am so glad I spent a week at Tohko. Will go back for sure. --Simon
My wife and I spent an idyllic 3 days here . The resort is quiet and has a stunning setting .”
The resort has a stunning setting and is on the quiet side of the island away from the town Centre . Staff are very friendly and helpful. The bungalows are sited on the waters edge - they have no frills and this what really appealed to us .
Great location for getting away from the tourist mayhem and enjoying a nice private beach, only accessible by boat. My room was a bamboo hut right on the water which was rustic and cute and had a great view, but had some minor maintenance deficiencies. The restaurant served decent food. The main drawback to staying here was the rather loud engine noise from the Thai Long tail boats taxiing tourists to other resorts up the coast, which was quite frequent, but which I eventually got used to. Other resorts along the east coast are also subject to this noise to be fair. Definitely not a lush resort with all the amenities if that is what you are used to, but great value for the money.
