I really enjoyed my time at Tonagi mostly because of the staff. Everyone who I encountered was super friendly and helpful. I would sit and talk for hours with Haruka. She's the sweetest! The place itself has a nice design. The beds in the dorm are built to give a little privacy and are pretty comfortable. It's outside of Fukuoka city center, but less than 5 walking minutes away from the subway. Even if you like to walk or bike, it's really easy to get to the city center from the hostel.

A very modern guesthouse in Fukuoka”
A very stylish hostel located slightly outside the Fukuoka city centre. It’s about 5 min walk to the nearest subway station and from there, you can have easy access to the city centre and airport. It has the basic amenities that you would expect, and cleanliness was well-maintained. The common area is located on the second floor, where there is also the kitchen. There is also a very stylish book cafe on the first floor. One thing to note is that the rooms are located on the second and third floor, and there is no elevator, so be prepared to bring your luggage up the stairs!

I went back here after my one week trvelling all over japan. The staff are nice and friendly, the living room and bedroom are also nice. Recommended and probably will stay here again when im in fukuoka. Plus it is also near hakata station via nakatsu kawabata then hakata.

Good amenities for a budgeted traveller”
I stayed Tonagi guest house for 3days and everything's fine. There are nice staff with great hospitality and good guests to hang out with. So I feel very comfortable with it. It'd be better to stay if there's curtain to cover each bed to keep the privacy. I would like to stay more when I go to Fukuoka again! Arigato🙏🏻

It was an okay hostel, not so exceptional. The location is reachable from Hakata station via subway (with a transfer at Nakasu-Kawabata station) but I'd rather have started somewhere near Hakata station. It's easy to get to tenjin station from here, so if you're coming from tenjin, this may be convenient. The rooms were clean, but sound from outside can be heard, and it's not a quiet area at night. I could hear people's conversations from my bunk. The bunks in my opinion could be improved with a slightly thicker futon and some curtains or shades to block out light. The people in my room would not turn off the lights until very late so it became a problem for me when trying to sleep.

Recommended for Muslim Traveler”
If you are Muslim traveler, this place is strategy even Fukuoka Mosque is just 3 stops away. If buy the 2 days pass, u don't have to worry about praying in the street as u can just go back to the hostel anytime because it's near with the main attraction places. If you are cooking, u can buy your groceries at nearest supermarket, but u have to bring your cooking utensils. Check-in time, i have to wait for 3pm, so if u are lucky u can check-in early if the bed is ready. Staff seems unfriendly but u need to initiate conversation first, and they will become just like your friend if u get to know them.

I felt I was home, thanks Tonagi”
Thanks to the wonderful staff for the warm welcome and for the friendly goodbye. Hakata was friendly and I felt home right immediately upon arrival. She was smiling all the time. Her gestures weren't because she has to but becauae she was genuinely happy to connect. The guy who helped me checking out was as friendly as Hakata, he even went out just to say "Arigatou Gozaimas", Thanks guys for making me feel home. They speak english and it my stay easier. The location is so close to the Chiyo subway. The bed is okay. The room is neat and tody. Water supply is plenty. Overall, it's a 10 for Satisfaction! I will surely recommend this to family and friends.

The hostel was quite clean except that the bed compartment was dusty, which made my sinus act up. The facilities were new and the staff were very friendly. Will definitely book this place again if I am back in Fukuoka.

It has anything you need as a hostel, the rooms are clean and the only downside it doesn’t have any elevator, and the stairs are quite steep. They have a cool lobby serve as a cafe.

Fits the bill if you are looking for a place that's accessible as a homebase but at the same time a good distance away from the crowds. I kinda like the local neighborhood feel to it. In terms of facilities, expect just basic stuff. It's comfy enough and clean, so for me, staying here is a good deal considering the price.

Considering the price we paid for 5 night i wouldn't complaint much although i've been to better hostels before in Japan . The one thing i really like here is the staff were really really friendly that we took like 20 minutes to became friends eventhough they couldn't really understand english they triend their best to communicate using google translate . Common room was small so it always get cramped at night . Facilities were okay , close to subway station and lawson

The staff can speak English very well so it is very convenient for us the non japanese speakers. She also gave us Fukuoka Map that is very helpful. The location is very near to the subway. Facilities are fine.

A cozy, quiet, comfortable hostel”
The hostel is very close to subway station. Staffs are friendly and speak good English. I was allowed to left my luggage at 10am of the check-in day, and till 10pm on the day after check out. The hostel and neighbor is quiet too. Facility is clean.

Just what we needed for this trip”
We needed somewhere just to rest for the night then hit the road early. Its about 20 minutes walk from Hakata station but there is a bus stop not too far from the hotel that can get you there is less than half the time. A good overnight spot.

A close walk from Chiyo-Kenchoguchi subway station. Spacious and cosy cafe area for reading, internet use & study. Friendly staff, kitchen access but it was a tad grimy and uncleared. Easy place to meet other travellers

Excellent service and cleaniness of the place. Reception is a cafe and has hot food and coffee. Also close to a Lawson 24hr convenient store and very close to station exit5. Enjoyed the 4 night stay ^^
