For what you pay you get friendly staff, amazing service, and a good room. I accidentally dropped food all over the floor at 1am at the lobby but the staff was very kind and insisted on cleaning it for me. I didn’t even need to say much besides showing my ID and my phone number and my room key was given to me within a minute—the fastest check in process ever. There are no outlets for American products I had to ask for an adapter, and they were quick to assist. They also know me by my room number and were quick to read my mind when I had trouble explaining what I need.
I am a foreigner and was looking for easy hotel for a few nights in Hsinchu. Hotel has a free laundry, free breakfast. 5 mins walk to train station. 15mins walk to the zoo. very central. would definately stay here again. Take a cab 25mins to the seafood wharf area. from here hire a bike - they have these battery electric buggy bikes for groups of x2 or x4 and travel 17ks down the coast on dedicated bike path. plenty of stops along the way. be sure to take snacks and water.
It is close to the train station and the bus station which has a bus to the airport. The staff is pleasant and helpful. It's an older place, but it could be a lot better if they would clean it. Bad smells in the hallway and in the room. The hallway carpet needs to be replaced. The sheets were clean but the blanket on the bed and extra blankets in a cupboard probably need to be washed. The hotel also welcomes short-term stays by couples. That contributes to an inconvenient 5:00 p.m. check in time. Breakfast was limited and not very appetizing for westerners. The only reason to stay here is that every place else near Taipei on the weekend is extremely expensive.
It's understandable that it's old. There was a water server in the room. Since there is no room cleaning or garbage collection even after a few days of stay, it might be necessary to inform the front desk. Anyway, it's helpful that it's right by Hsinchu train station. If I'm traveling solo, I would definitely want to use this place again because of the pricing and location.

Superb Location The hotel is just a 1–2 minute walk from Hsinchu Train Station, making it extremely convenient for travelers. It is surrounded by major convenience stores, eateries, and shopping options, including nearby malls — perfect for anyone wanting easy access to essentials and local attractions. Areas for Improvement Unfortunately, my experience with the hotel staff was not as welcoming as I had hoped. Having traveled to Taiwan many times, I’ve always admired the warmth and friendliness of the Taiwanese people, who are typically helpful and approachable. However, the reception staff here seemed less engaging. There was some confusion regarding price differences between the days of my stay. Despite my efforts to clarify, the staff appeared unwilling or unable to provide clear explanations. Perhaps I asked too many questions or it was simply an off moment, but the lack of helpfulness was disappointing and left a negative impression. Ultimately, I chose to accept the listed amount without further discussion. On my final day, which coincided with the eve of the Duan Wu Festival, I decided not to extend my stay due to the price. I found another hotel about 500 metres away offering nearly two-thirds of the rate. The alternative hotel had larger, newer rooms and, importantly, a warm and friendly reception that restored my faith in the hospitality Taiwan is known for. Facilities and Cleanliness The facilities here are quite basic and feel somewhat run-down. Additionally, upon entering my room, there was a noticeable cigarette smoke odor, which was unpleasant. Summary While the location is excellent, the combination of unfriendly staff, unclear pricing, basic facilities, and unpleasant smell means I will likely choose a different hotel the next time I visit Hsinchu.
