We booked Tong Da International as a 4 star as we were arriving late and we're looking for comfort and they had a free airport shuttle. We arrived to find we weren't being picked up, we called and were told to get a taxi. Arrived to find we weren't booked in. The bed was rock hard, the restaurant was shut at 8 (we arrived at 8:15). The window was broken and the room was very noisy. We asked to change rooms and we got moved to a room very similar with 4 broken shower/bath taps. We stayed the night but left the next morning with sore backs and forewent our 2nd night (with no refund or offers to make our stay better from reception staff). Our worst night in China, yet our most expensive (by a long way). Hotel was also miles from any other food and was the only area in China we didn't feel safe outside of the hotel.

hotel condition=new and comfortable,reasonable price,helpful manager
condition of room is new,well-maintained and's quite near to the city centre (by bus) and there's a bus stop nearby.there's also an english-speaking manager from beijing that assisted us throughout our journey. Her name is Linda Lee.She helped us find an affordable tour around zhangjiajie (chinese language).not only that, she also made sure that we were alright til we left zhangjiajie.overall everything is splendid.

Ok hotel. Clean and no frills.”
Close to airport
Arrived from fenghuang and was really eager to have a nice room for shower and rest. The Opel doesn't disappoint s long as you don't have high expectations. Rooms are clean but beds are hard and pillows are thin.

Standard hotel which meets basic requirements”
Spacious room
the room was relatively clean, tidy and spacious. the king size bed provided was a combination of 2 smaller beds and as usual, china beds are made of hard planks with little cushioning. all amenities are being charged for, eg. toothbrush, comb, showercap. despite the fact that it's a international hotel, they only serve chinese food for breakfast.

Quiet hotel with nice mountain views”
Location was peaceful and relaxing
Lack of variety of restaurants - only Chinese food
Location was great - away from the city and in the forest with nice mountain views. Quiet and relaxing.

Hotel Tong Da”
Large room (Deluxe Kingsize).
Staff doesn't speak English, far from citycentre.
It's called an International hotel, but there's nothing international about it. Staff doesn't speak English at all, breakfast is only Chinese. Far from citycentre, you'll have to take the bus/taxi (bus stops in front of hotel). About 1 hour drive to Zhangjiajie/Wulingyuan National Park. Room is oke, but nothing special for a Deluxe Kingsize.

Tong Da Hotel Stay”
A decent Hotel
Dated rooms. Bathroom need to be properly cleaned.
The hotel was around 10 minutes from city centre. It is however a better managed hotel than those we stayed in afterwards in the area. The hotel lobby looks good, but the room where we stayed for 2 nights is dated and needs updating, from carpet to ceiling. The bathroom needed more cleaning, especially the mould buildup around the sink and the bathtub edges.. The hotel is away from all shops and restaurants (city centre). you will need to take a taxi to get there (8 yuans). Having said the above, the hotel staff were courteous and service was good.
