Room and Services are not as expected”

1- We book 2 rooms with 1 twin beds room (written in our booking doc), they answer they never have room with twin bed even we show the option in our booking document: finally no twin beds. 2- We brought with us a small chihuahua, they asked extra for 250 THB. We must show this option is 200 for small dog and 300 for big dog in Agoda. Finally they accepted 200 as shown in Agoda. Also they tell dog cannot jump to their bed, it is not noticed anywhere. It is a little things but the atmosphere were not pleasant, we didn't stay to take our free breakfast.

Would not be my first choice in Chiang Khan”

chiang khan has become a popular thai tourist destination over the last few years and what was once a choice of two or three guest houses has grown into a huge choice from resorts to hotels to guesthouses to home-stays. while tonkong may be one of the best in it's price range, next time i would pay a little more for a little more comfort. the rooms are so small you bump your shins trying to walk around the bed and they seem unfinished with raw cement floors covered by straw mats. the bed was hard as cement and i could not sleep as it hurt my back, shoulders, and hips. the location is quiet and right on the river, but at the far end of the tourist street a long walk away from the other attractions.

Unlike most wooden Chiangkhan guesthouses, here is a concrete building where you can walk without worriness to disturb other guests.

A Great Place to Leave the World Behind”

From the Tongkong one can watch the Mekong flow lazily past. Beyond the river is the green expanse of Laos. A walk along the promenade gives one a view of river life. Our stay at this guesthouse was just what we wanted: scenic surroundings; peace and quiet;and a chance to leave the city behind. It scored highly on all three counts. An added bonus was the super friendly and helpful owners.

Nice accommodation, friendly, and good food ”

Nice accommodation for this rural area and traditional Thai setting/small village. Really nice traditional Thai village and a must see. One needs a car to see things in the area which I had but if I had not met a Thai family at this guesthouse I would not have seen anything as no assistance or information was provided regarding local sightseeing and things to do in the area. This needs to be available to visitors, particularly those that do not read or speak Thai.

Clean with nice landscape guesthouse”

Not far from walking street. Located close to Mekong river. Hospitable owner. The room is compact size, suit for 2 persons, quiet small for 3 persons. Delicious boiled rice are served for breakfast. Price is reasonable for quality.

Nice and new”

At first they seemed confused over my booking, offering a small room with shared bath. I refused and said I had paid for room with bath. It helped that I speak Thai. The room I did get was really nice and super clean, all new. Highlight was the little 3 year old grandson who befriended me immediately, named Tem. Breakfast was very small. People very friendly.

Lovely hotel good view”

The hotel is close to the Khong river. Although it has only 1 room that see the river view, but the other guest can enjoy the view from its back-side balcony (2 tables). The breakfast is not bad considering what is the room price we paid for.

Very good location and cheaper stay”

Spend one night stay in a tent which is good enough, just love guesthouse location, it along to the river. You can walk distance to nice walking street or take a walk to sightseeing the view

Good view ”

Overall good. However, we were disappointed for not having the attached bathroom. We have to share the common bathroom. We should have been informed upon booking.

ik had een standaard kamer met fan geboekt, maar toen bleek tevens dat ik de badkamer en toilet op de gang moest gebruiken, na bijbetaling had ik een kamert met douche en toilet. de kamers zijn klein, maar schoon en nieuw. het hotel is nieuw op zich, een paar jaar oud, maar grijs en niet mooi, maar het ligt er aan wat de reden van je bezoek is. het ontbijt is erg simpel, maar te doen,
