        GREAT MUDSPA WITHIN THE HOTEL”

MUDSPA, Essential Cold Spa and Normal Spa

Researched online that it is one of the three famous venues that provide MUDSPA in the world! Had a night stay at Toong Mao Resort (Tainan), being a hotel guest, we have unlimited access to the outdoor spa at our own convenience. There are many different spa pools to try on and explanations were well-displayed in a board. It's a must to try the MUDSPA, there's bucket of mud at the side for spa-goers to apply onto themselves. After the MUDSPA, cleanse yourself well and dip into the cold essential oil spa. The combination is heaven! Will go again for more.

Greatest Hot Spring have ever been”

It may be hard to backpackers to go there. (I had been at the Tainan before got there. So I had to take train from Tainan to Xinying, and there was no more direct bus from xinying to guanzling. I took the bus to Baihe and got off there and wait another bus to guanzling. Therefore I recommend you to take bus at the Chiayi to guanzling, the direct one.) However it`s very precious explanation for me to tough to get there. I can see many taiwanese students and rural scenery of Taiwan. Anyway, This resort has very reasonable price and excellent facilities. And its hot spring has mud, the very rare one of the world. It`s a really hidden jewel!!

        Hot spring

Hotel is quite handy to the Guanzilin bus terminal and there are many restaurants nearby. Hotel has a large outside swinmming pool as well as segregated (nude) indoor hot spring pool, sauna and steam room. My room was quite large with a great view over the pool and the town looking towards the mountains.

Lovely hotel with public hotspring pools”

Our visit was an ultrashort one but we manage to stay and enjoy the hotel facilities. The room was considered to be in good size, though the toilet facility is slight small and dark. The public hotspring pools were big, with both indoor and outdoor pools and a swimming pool. The overall experience is above average and highly recommend to others who want to spend their time in Guanzilin.

        Decent hot spring hotel”

We had a good time visitin Guanzilin. The hotel is conveniently located in the middle of a small town. We took a bus from Chiayi train station and it was a short 2 minutes walk to the hotel after the last bus stop. There is a nice park next to the hotel. Hotel is a bit outdated and could use some modernization. We enjoyed the outdoors hot springs. We also tried the private bath house which required reservation and pay but was worth it as our family had a private tub all to ourselves. The hotel room was clean but didn't have much of s view. Breakfast had a good variety selection of Chinese breakfast and less western style breakfast. Overall, it was a good experience although we probably would not pay as much next time if the hotel is not updated in the future.

Better priced than other hotels, huge clean room and with mud spa”

Large clean room, many different spas. Price is good compared to other nearby resorts. Good breakfast spread, near some restaurants but you will need to drive down to the park or other eateries for the famous wood cooked chicken

        Great hot spring experience”

Hot spring, mud, cleanliness, noise insulation in the room, spacious

We have a spacious family room, modern yet Japanese style. We have unlimited use of the hot springs and mud bath. As it was a weekday morning, the pools were quiet and great for relaxing. Many local eateries just outside the resort.

Outdated but I came for the pool”

I thoroughly enjoyed the pool, though other aspects were needing attention. The pool is closed on Tuesdays and during lunch hours. During these times and in the evenings, you cannot even lounge in the lounge chairs by the pool, as it’s gated and locked. There’s absolutely no other place for you to go outside and lay around. There are places to sit, but not relax in a lounger. As it was, the loungers were not at all comfortable to lay on. Black mould is on the sides of the building and balconies and desperately need cleaning to remove it. 3 of the spa pools were closed/broken....1 was the fish one where you have them eat the dead skin off your toes. Another was one where the water splashes down on you. The restaurant only allows for 2 or more people as the menu is a fixed set...you have no choices. The menu wasn’t available in English. There were no bedside lamps to read by, nor were there any bedside outlets to plug your cellphone in for charging. There were no bathrobes for guests. Repairs had been done shoddily and it was obvious they paid cheaply for someone’s repair services. Sometimes there were young children screaming and no one asked them to keep their voices down. I came for peace and quiet, so the noisy children were not what I wanted to be around. There was an old, yellowed spare duvet in the closet to use if you got cold. It needed replacing!!! The staff were friendly and helpful, though very limited in their ability to speak English. For a hotel to call itself a resort, I definitely expected better. Breakfast buffet ended at 9, which is always a problem for me as I always sleep in on my vacation so I only went there 2 times. It had lots of choices for Taiwanese, but was lacking for foreigners. The hotel looked better than most places in Guanziling. I did enjoy relaxing by the pool, swimming and using the hot tubs.

        Price, cleanness, big rooms

Best hotel I've stayed. Excellent price, big and comfortable rooms, excellent spa conditions. Loved the mud hotspring experience. The only problem is that is too far from Taipei but the trip is worth it!

Hot springs resort in the mountains”

comfortable hot spings, tranquil mountain environment, good breakfast

Great place to stay for relaxation purpose, but the food outside of the hotel are fairly high priced and not worthy. Famous local dishes were not especially delicious, suggest eating in the hotel or buy microwave food from the convenient store outside of the hotel.

        Mud hotspring- checked ”

Tried this hotel because it offer public hotspring and indoor one. The hot spring facilities is generally good but not exceptional. Location wise, it is excellent. Convenient store just across the street and few restaurants just few minutes walk away. Breakfast is included in the room rate and is Taiwanese breakfast. I like the 担担面 and like the side dish for porridge. And nuggets and fries is definitely a highlight for my kids. It will be good if they serve fried egg. Overall good stay.

Need to read the room booked carefully”

Everything is acceptable. Only issue - perhaps I didn't read carefully, the room that I booked does NOT comes with hot-spring facilities, but can use the common hot-spring facilities. Paid another NT 800 per room with a hot-spring tub in the balcony. With a 13month old, so the hotel actually asked if I needed baby bath tub and sent on to the room. =)

        Spacious Room”

Very large room, spa pools within hotel, nice staff

We enjoyed the large room and the spa pools. There were eateries nearby and it was easy to find food. Staff were helpful and did not mind us bringing our own food which we had bought on the way to Guanziling to eat in their cafeteria. Service at Cafeteria was slow as there was only one staff member there. The hotel was quiet and restful.

        friendly,good language skil,clean & comfortable

Staff is very friendly and speaks fluent japanese, room is clean, big & comfortable. But when I reserved a double-dedded room of this hotel, there was no opption of taking breakfast, generaly speaking hotels should show two options including breakfast or not. And when I took the bath at the public bathspace for men,the footgear-box is about 5meters away from the entrance of the bathroom, and so after took the bath I unwillingly went my room with my dirty feet.

good location: there are many restaurants nearby and the chicken in the restaurants are great, very close to bus terminal to jiayi. close to mountain walk to some major sights like the bridge n the 'good men slope', shops around to let u buy souvenirs such as mud masks and snacks, clean n comfortable rooms and bed! You can definitely relax there. nice hot spring: there're different types of hot springs there for u to enjoy, different temperature, different purposes.
