Perfect for families with young kids. Feeding animals, whole day complimentary hot dessert ”
Pros: it’s great for a 2D1N stay for families with young children. Small enough for young kids to walk around freely. There’s a night bbq and buffet breakfast as well. You could also sign up for different DIY activities. There’s a complimentary whole day hot dessert station provided (green bean soup, tang yuan and bubble tea pearls). Cons: I wished there were more animals and more fruit trees and vegetables for a more complete farm experience.

Exceptional”
We live at the block facing the pond. A very nice environment. The kids love the place as they can feed the fish, goats and buffalo. The staff are very friendly. The booking with agoda only include dinner, bf and farm tour. You will need to TOP up for extra activities.

Too Commercial”
I can imagine that this was a good leisure farm way back 20 years ago. However over the years, it became too commercialize when it caters to mass base low cost group tours. They can not even have nice flooring for their dining area. its plain cement finish. They have a big farm property but are off limits to their guest.

Awesome experience. Great service and friendly staff. Delicious Halal food. ”
The farm tour is the highlight of our stay at Toucheng Leisure Farm. For Muslim travellers on free & easy tour, you will need to email them in advance of your request for halal food. Beautiful landscape and my children enjoyed the DIY Lantern experience. Tina, the owner spoke good English and she's very friendly. Her dog, named Golden, is very smart and guided us around the area where we stayed. Go for the creek where you can dip your feet into the clean river water that cones from the mountain. Despite its humbled 2-star rating, I would give it a 5-star rating for its cleanliness, service, food and friendly staff. My children enjoyed feeding the fish and ducks in the pond. Fish food is readily sold at $10TWD. There are traditional games such as chapteh and walking sticks and toy equipment to make bubbles that are readily available for anyone to play. My 8-year old is always kept occupied with all the games and toys. Will definitely come back for more experience at the farm.

Superb staff service”
We were supposed to travel to Taipei after leaving Toucheng Leisure Farm hotel & had bought train tickets @ Yilan before arriving @ the hotel. The staff @ the hotel suggested to us that we should had bought the train tickets @ Toucheng instead of Yilan. Mr Huang had initiated to help us to buy the train tickets @ Toucheng train station so that we need not to travel to Yilan train station which was further away from the hotel. Hence, Mr Huang & his colleagues had helped us to save the cost of cab fare.

Invigorating farm stay great for families”
It was a refreshing change for the city-bred kids (and the adults!) to spend 3 days and 2 nights at this lovely leisure farm. The farm offered plenty of activities - fishing, baking sweet potatoes in a kiln, leaf-printing on tee shirts, nature walks, bamboo craft, sky lantern making, rice cultivation, animal feeding, etc which were fun and educational. The food was simple but plentiful, and there was a snack counter where you could help yourself to sweet desserts like mung bean soup and wanton noodles all day. Vegetarians were well catered for. The rooms were small and simple but reasonably clean and well maintained. there was even wifi in the common areas (bit not in the rooms)! All in all, I would highly recommend Toucheng farm for families with children. We saw many school groups too during our stay.

Clean and nice facilities, friendly and warm staff”
Toucheng farm is not far away from Taipei. We went there for 2 days 1 night with our 3-years-old to see the animals. Though there is a limited number of animals to see, I was quite impressed by the good maintenance of all facilities, the well-rounded but not pushy organization and all the little touches to welcome the guests. Toilets were clean and well supplied even in more remote areas of the farm. It was rainy when we were there and umbrellas were provided for guests to use between the buildings. Rooms were recently refurbished and beds were comfortable. Even if the bathroom looked older in comparison, the water pressure in the shower head was powerful enough. Dinner and breakfast are home-cooked dishes and products grown from the farm. Mostly, the owner and her staff are very friendly and make you feel welcome.

Great environment and freindly staff”
This hotel is a distance away from TouCheng station. Staffs are very friendly and environment is very comfortable. You can do fishing, try the wonton noodle you make yourself and rest enjoying fresh air. They have the morning tour from 8:30 and staff will introduce you about the natural environment, including explanation about the insects and giving kids opportunity to feed the goats.

Back to nature”
Room and breakfast are average but the nice part of Toucheng leisure farm are the activities like fireflies watching, DIY sky lantern and fireworks! However do expect lots of walking in the farm as there are no lift to service you to your room(we had to climbed up and down to our 3rd floor room) and if you want to see the farm animals eg. Water buffalo, wild boar, pigs, goose, goat... Be prepared for 10mins of trekking up the slope. Same route for fireflies watching too...

Great experience, too pricey”
Wanted to stay in Toucheng for its activities, mainly for the sky lantern workshop and releasing it, and to watch fireflies. It was priced very steeply for a private room for 2 persons. I was very interested in the night activities so I went ahead with it, the activities were very enjoyable but I will not return again due to its price. It would be better to call the farm directly to arrange. Also, weekends are crowded with student groups.

laid back life in a farm filled with activities”
accommodation is spacious and consist of 2 queen bed but premise is a bit dated and bed very hard. day 1 begins with diy activities from 3pm onwards includes making bamboo toys and flute. followed by bbq buffet with a good spread of meat and vegetables from the farm. after dinner, we were taught to make lantern. after breakfast at 9am in the morning, we had a 2.5 hrs walk around the farm and the guide introduced the different plant and animals. the guide encouraged us to pluck some of the fruit to try them and feed the goats with leaves. we had a chance to build a clay urn to cook sweet potato and eat them. after the walk. we had lunch and continued our last diy activity of designing our own tee shirt using leaves found in the farm and paint provided! what a fun filled 2 days we had. city dwellers like us would not have a chance to experience the laid back life of a farmer if not for the farmstay at toucheng.

Nice Farm Stay with Great Activity”
This is our first trip and first stop in Taiwan. Definitely no regrets. We have a good BBQ dinner and the fun of making and releasing the sky lantern on our first night. On the second day,we got a tour around the farm for free and pay a small amount for some of the activities we choose to participate. This farm serve wonderful local breakfast and has a huge large compound for us to relax and even do some fishing. Anyone coming to Taiwan should not miss this farmstay.

Good Hotel with very friebdly and helpful staff.”
it is the first time i stay in this hotel. it is in a forested area which is accessible by cars, taxies. the hotel is situated on the slope of a mountain and the air is very fresh as it is not in the city or near factories. the vegetables and poultry for the meals in the hotel are grown or raised by the hotel staff without any chemicals so they are safe and full of nutritious besideds being tasty and fresh. the hotel is very suitable for people who likes to have a relaxing break from the stressful city life. the view from the hotel room is good - mmountains, forests, ponds, flowers. a walk around the pond in the hotel is very relaxing. there are activities organised by the hotel such as making heavenly lanterns to let fly to the sky and lessons on how to make simple musical instruments from wood and bamboo.

Go here for your kid’s fun education and not anyth”
Toucheng Leisure Farm in Toucheng, Yilan County, northeastern Taiwan, is geared towards educational holidays. It allows visitors a glimpse of how people used to live in the olden days. I really like the idea of this place and the angle that they are bringing. The experience is relaxing (bordering on boring). I’m kind of torn. The reason I am torn is because the concept is fun and I had an ok time with activities…making and setting off sky lanterns, learning to mud bake sweet potatoes, fishing, traditional food and light snacks and meals throughout the day…kind of like a Club med, but the food and service aren’t the best. I think that if they step their service up (and at least try to look interested) and try new recipes then they may really have something going here. The other downside is the old, blah and basic bedroom….somewhat akin to the Low Cost carrier version of a hotel room. The bed was a rock hard place. Now I know what Fred Flinstone’s bedrock was all about. There was no wifi in the room, no power plug-points either – only two. One for the TV and the other in the bathroom. Go here for your kid’s fun education and not anything else. This is the true truthas I say it as it is…

Above average”
Bad experience with the taxi driver when the Farm tried to book a taxi for us from the Farm to Shangrila Leisure Farm which is in Luodong for NT700. The receptionist had given the full address of the Farm but the taxi driver sent us to Shangrila Hotel which is 10 km apart. He refused to admit his fault and demanded another NT300 to reach there or we alight at the Hotel. We had no choice but to pay him to reach our destination.
