Location and room”
Location is ok which is only 100m walk from bus stop (Kami Tonosawa) which is 3 stops away from Hakone Yumoto St. The river view from my room is superb and very relaxing especially at night. The room was newly refurbished and it’s so comfortable and clean. They served tradional Japanese breakfast which is something interesting to me. Highly recommended.
location is ok. breakfast and dinner are fantastic and dinner have free flow of drinks ”
location ok. 2 station from hakone yumoto station. suggest take bus to the hotel. 3rd bus stop alight. once alight carry on walking on the same direction the bus moving. then less than 1 min u see your hotel on the right side. can have onsen together with your family or love one after 10. as after 10pm the boys and gals onsen will be only open to hotel guest. so the keys will be hang near the lobby. so when u see the key meaning one of the room is available for u to use. breakfast and dinner is very good. thumb up
Great food and services”
The hotel is about 10 minutes walk from hakone yumoto, however, most part has no pedestrian path and the road is narrow hence made it slightly dangerous to talk especially with luggages. The room is good size, a bit old but with great river view. Their services were excellant. Dinner was fanstastic, really enjoyed it.
Love the view & breakfast is very nice.”
We love the view from room to forest and stream. Breakfast is nice. Not far from Yumoto Hakone station. Only take 5mn taxi about 7-8$ to get to the hotel. Love hot spring at the hotel & their sister hotel nearby. Best part is we can have our private hot spring for 45mn.
Located beside the river. Good Japanese breakfast.”
Traditional Japanese style breakfast is very nice but you have one hour, 8:00-9:00am. The hotel staffs are nice. About 5 minutes by bus from Hakone-yumoto train station. It's not easy to find the hotel. You can 1 minutes walk from the bus stop, about 30 meters that you have to walk on the road (no foot path), it's quite dangerous because of the downhill road.
Good value and great view”
This hotel has postcard views and is a good value for the money. There is an in-town shuttle directly to and from the hotel for 100 Yen (about $1). The service is excellent and friendly. The room was spacious and comfortable.
lovely hotel by the river with good view”
provides good service and has its own bathhouse. guests can also have the choice of going to the nearby bigger bathhouse complimentary. easy access to the railway station or can also walk to the Yumoto town. hotel lobby also provides basic services such as vending machines, snacks & instant noodles. good & quiet choice for those who wish to stay awat from the more busy town area.
Big room with view over a small stream and trees”
there isn't any signboard leading to this hotel from the tonosawa station. tonosawa station is near but it's located uphill and be prepare to drag your luggage down a few steps before reaching the road level. after descending down the path from the station, turn right and walk about 300m. the hotel's signboard is not strategically located and can be easily missed. the room is pretty big and the beds are clean and comfy. value for money but don't expect super luxurious facilities.
With the price that we booked, that was pretty good as included both breakfast and dinner. The meals are good and with big potion. During the dinner, the drink are all you can drink. Room is pretty old, the location is not that convenient but it's a nice and quiet area which is good to relax and have a retreat there
it's good but...”
have private onsen, big clean room nice view but if you didn't book dinner for advanced , the hotel don't have food for you even you have money. the hotel front will act like it's yr business and if you don't have car, it's harder to go out at night
Good view, nice people but bad cleanliness ”
People there are very helpful and the screen of the room is super good. But the sound of waterfall outsides is very loud and it disturb my rest. The building is too close to the road and the cars and you can hear the cars passing by. Very disturbing my rest. I feel itchy when sleeping probably the bed is not clean enough. There is smell from the bathroom. Building is hold be very old. Sorry to say that I had bad experience on this stay.
everything is good, behind has nice view waterfall..opposite have shirne [ require your strength muscle to climb up]. Only vending machine for drink, no convenience store like 711 or family mart/ Lawson around that area..
Would stay again. Unfortunately a little out of the way of city so its about 15 min walk to closest restaurant. If eating late would recommend just reserving with dinner option. If you buy hakone free pass you can take bus from hakone-yumoto station and the hotel is maybe 50m away. Or you can use hotel shuttle which stops right in front of hotel and is 100 yen.
Quite a drive to the hotel ”
Quite a price to the hotel by the bus which you have to pay for it if you stop at the last JR station. The price of the bus drive is not cheap either. The hotel scenery in the morning is quite nice if you have the window river room. The staff is helpful. One plus thing is you can have a private on-sen experience after 10 p.m. You just have to keep looking for the keys.
big room. very attentive staff”
provide yukata. our room has an amazing view of the stream flowing through the river. big room. big toilet. recommend for couple. however hotel name was hard for the tourists or bus captain at the shuttle to pronouce or understand so some guests had prob communicating with the captain when he asked which hotel they r staying.
Relaxing Stay - Would Recommend”
Tonosawa is one stop away from the main hub, Hakone-Yumoto Station. There are options on getting to this hotel either via Hakone Tozan Railway (free with Freepass, but you have to walk to the hotel) or a shuttle that stops on hotels around town (100¥ to ride one way and it stops in front of the hotel). We enjoyed our stay at Tonosawa QS. It was peaceful and very relaxing. We had the Superior River View room and we loved watching the scenery. The room is the biggest we've stayed at in Japan and was very clean. Our dinner and breakfast for 2 nights' stay were really good! We were also able to use private onsen (first come, first serve after 10PM). Staff was also friendly. We would book this hotel again if we go back and I also recommend it!
Good Hakone hotel with onsen”
The hotel has stunning river and mountain views. The bathroom and beds are very clean. When we were there it's not busy so I have the entire lady's onsen by myself without reservation (free). The hotel staff are the most kind and welcoming ones I met in this trip (stayed in four hotels). Japanese style breakfast is fantastic! The only downside is the hotel looks old and definitely need a renovation.
Very serene & cosy hotel”
A little far from railway station. You can take a stroll from the train station. its about a 15 to 20mins walk. A very cosy small scale hotel. Old school but very nice. Room is quite big. Facilities is sufficient. Staff are very friendly. Fantastic view as we took the river view room. Will come back again.
2 nights stay”
1. Good Onsen in the hotel. Guests are also allowed to use another sister hotel private onsen about 100m down the street. 2. We enjoyed the breakfast and dinner very much. Free flow of drinks including beers and sake. 3, Walking is possible from Hakone Yumoto station. 4. Rooms facing the river have good view.
Better than I was expecting!”
The dinner was amazing with all you can drink The standard rooms were big and cozy and clean!!! The staff was VERY friendly and helpful The outside may look a bit spooky but once inside it was nice. The Onsen were bigger than I was expecting and perfect temperature Overall was very pleased with the hotel!
