I booked in advance so I got an amazing deal. The location is awesome! It is located in the central east end, just at the edge of zone one. 5 minute walk to Aldgate East station, 10 minutes to Brick Lane markets, 10 mins to Tower Bridge/Tower of London. Friendly and helpful staff. Awesome patio, lovely basement/bar/breakfast area. The brick walls, dim lighting, beds, etc. give a kind of cozy and cottage type of feel. Very lively establishment. I was amazed at the level of cleanliness of the room and bathroom, I was not expecting it. Definitely recommend this hostel!!!!

We were offered to choose between 2 hotels of thge chain, so we stayed at the one closer to the tube station. The room was clean, nice and warm on a cold, snowy weekend. Furniture simple, bit shabby, bed comfortable, abundant English breakfast. Value for money. Snow was not cleaned from the steps and passage in fromt of our building, and receptionist didn't have any plug adaptor for continental European plugs.

Reading previous reviews, I was quite worried about my stay at this hotel, it was the cheapest one I could find and in all honesty I didn't research reviews before I booked it. This is a basic example of getting what you pay for. a double room in the center of london with breakfast include, I didn't expect much. The staff were friendly, check in was really quick, me and my partner were going to aa gig that night and were delighted to know that we could go back to the hotel at any time of the night because the reception desk is open 24 hours. As for the location, it's right by bethnall green tube station, which is excellent for getting around! I prevviously read in reviews that you can hear the tube going by but we had no such problem, infact the tube is so low underground that I doubt you could hear it anyway! The room was clean, the bed was clean and well made, there was a little dust here and there but it was in no way filthy. The only bad thing was that the shower seemed to fill up and if you spend too long in there, overflow onto the floor, although there was a plug on the ground so that wasn't too much of a problem. Excellent hotel, really reasonable for the money, I'd stay there again!

I stayed here for four days and had an overall good experience however I faced few problems and it is better to point them out . The Check In time is after 2 PM and doesn't work for a person who check out from another hotel or reaches London in the morning .In my case ,I was checking out of another hotel and wasn't able to check in here as no one was available .I had to drag my luggage with me till the evening . Room was good and clean however the bed sheet needs to be changed as it has some very obvious stains on it . Towels were good . Bathroom was good and was cleaned regularly . Kitchen was good too and I made good use of it . Wifi only worked for my first day and it was not showing on my last two days of stay and I couldn't use it at all . My overall experience is good as it is near Whitechapel tube station , darling row bus stop and Nando's as well . Halal food is easily available. I Strongly suggest the management to be flexible about their Check in Policy .

This is an odd little hotel situated in a run down part of East London. Walikng up to the hotel we wondered where we were going, but the hotel itself is very modern and spotlessly clean. We arrived early and were able to check in immediately. It was only when we were there however, that we learned of the hotel's strict 'no alcohol' policy - not an issue on this occasion but I do feel that thus should be made clear when booking. The room was an executive king size and was a decent size but did have the odd bathroom layout that others have mentioned with the washbasin in an alcove of the bedroom. Not sure why they chose to do this. The mini fridge contained soft drinks and chocolate, which were reasonably priced. The air con was a real bonus. During the night we were awoken by a very loud argument between a group of men outside, which went in for quite a long time. We had booked breakfast and were surprised to find that we had to choose fruit juice or tea/coffee or pay extra for both. My husband ordered their version of a full English - although no bacon or pork sausage - and this arrived in two halves, the second part a good 5 minutes after the first. The food was OK but nothing special. On the whole we had a comfortable night in easy reach of a tube station but not sure we would choose to go there again.

Pros: 1) spacious and clean room 2) sizeable bathroom 3) new electrical appliances and fittings 4) strategically located. 2 minutes walk to algate east station which is a plus point!! 5) few nearby cafes surrounding the building ie costa, preg a manger etc. Tesco express is just accross the road. 6) great concierge service ie friendly etc 7) love the toiletries set ie shampoo, conditioner & shower gel made from natural ingredients. LOve it!!! 8) nice and quiet neighbourhood 9) Big TV set! Love it!! cons: 1) no direct line to call reception. 2) thrash not cleared/collected on daily basis. Overall our stay was superbly fantastic. Wld definitely come back for our future stay in London! One of the best aparthotels in London indeed! Keep it up guys!

The room I booked had its own bathroom. Other guests shared a bathroom on our floor. The shared bathroom was adjacent to my room and unfortunately, due to the thinness of the walls, your could hear ev-ery-thing. Door bashing, taps running and people going in and out of their rooms at all times of the night. Earplugs didn't help in this regard, so take note of this when staying. That said, the rooms themselves are very clean indeed and whilst the amenities (bathroom, shower, sink) are modest; they were clean and well maintained. You get what you pay for and cheap hotels can be hit and miss. In this case, on a budget, I would recommend the hotel, because it's clean and relatively fresh. The area outside is rather hit and miss and one should be aware of their surroundings at night. (Same goes for anywhere in the world, but particularly true here) PS - Friendly staff!

The lady on the "Security" team is extremely rude and unpleasant. She ended up hanging up on me whilst I was talking to her. It all stemmed from their policy of needing IDs for all guests. I sent over my ID as soon as I made the booking - but did not realise I needed all guests. Apparently she tried to call me the day before I was due to stay - but called only once, did not leave a message, and did not send me an email. When I asked why she did not leave a message on my voicemail - she replied that that was not her job. I'm sorry - but I would think that's the very definition of her job. Soon after that - she hung up on me. A very rude and discourteous person. In the course of writing this review I came across another poor review - which seems to cite the same person as being problematic. This person needs to be moved to a different position. I'm giving 2 stars for the staff - as the male who I spoke to on the main telephone contact number was very helpful - and understanding.

Easy to get to from City Airport, good access to city centre via bus and tube, 24 hour bus runs to and from Oxford Circus from Whitechapel High Street every 8/9 minutes every day. Tower Hamlets is a very pleasant area, lots of ethnic cafes and shops, nice community feel with a few markets close by, especially Brick Lane market. Nespresso machine in the room is a nice touch.

I arrived very early to book in as I had become quite poorly on the train journey to London. I had come to watch the Royal Wedding and instead ended up in the hotel all day poorly! That said, I was upgraded to a suite as my double room wasn't ready; the suite was fantastic and if I had to watch the wedding on my own in a hotel room this was a superb room! I loved the decor and design. My daughter cooked dinner in the suite in the evening as I was too poorly to go out. Despite a very difficutl day the hotel was the best ever! I will definitely be booking again.

Marlin Apartment Aldgate is only 1 Station from Liverpool Street station. So perfect if you flight to/from Stansted. Rooms are very big with a huge kitchen. Everything in what you need. It's really clean. The best was the view over London. There's not a huge choice of restaurants, bars and clubs around - but easy to reach by tube, because Aldgate East station is only 5 mins walk from the apartment.

This studio was well laid out to provide much more of a 1 bed apartment feel as opposed to the usual studio where everything is crammed into one room. I was on 6 floor and had great view back into the city. Only small soaps are provided so take your own shower gel/shampoo etc. There are no vanity kits provided. Good facilities though. It would also have been helpful to have some transfer or assistance moving my stuff between the address where you check in and the actual accommodation as it’s about 10 mins away. I would suggest getting the building manager to fix the doors so that they close quietly and don’t slam, but there is pretty good sound insulation inside the flats. This slamming noise bothered my a couple of nights because the bed is on the inside wall. Take earplugs!

when i booked to stay at the tower, i was convinced it was going to be a bit past it's best as the price for my stay was so reasonable. i grew up not far from this hotel and remember it being built which was a long time ago. often these type of hotels have passed through several owners and each time they lose a bit of their splendour. that was not the case though with the tower. from the exterior, it is not an attractive building, a big concrete monolith but don't be put off by that. liveried staff are in attendance everywhere and as you appoach the entrance to the hotel, there is a pleasant jasmine smell which i assumed was being pumped into the air. the room was everything you'd expect from a quality hotel with all usual facilities and a fabulous view over the river and tower bridge. it is also very peaceful there as the nearest main road is the bridge itself. for the money i paid for my stay, i wouldn't have been able to stay in a travelodge/days inn, type establishment for less and this hotel was far superior. i can't wait for my next stay there. the hotel is ideally placed for a quick walk to the tower, shopping areas like brick lane and middlesex street, the nightlife in hoxton or maybe just a peaceful stroll along the river. the transport facilities are excellent with tube stations, buses, taxi's and even a river bus service to take you to westminster or the opposite direction to greenwich. highly recommended...

This has been the best stay in London by far! I went for a city break with my 2 kids - 12 & 15 and my friend and her son - 15. After having looked all over the Internet, this was the only company that got back to me! Checking in was so easy, no hassle and fast! Lots of contact prior to arrival, so felt completely reassured. The apartment was better than we expected, 2 double bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, full equipped kitchen, spacious lounge / dining room! Extra large sofa bed in the lounge. Had to contact the staff once, by the time we came back from our outing the next day it had been sorted. We're already talking about te-booking for next year. overall apartment is good & clean , sophisticated equipment . there is one thing need improve is the hot water supply . it is insufficient supply . after 2-3 people take bath , no more hot water supply . one more host need improve and its really trouble for travelers to collect the keys from the office not from the apartment which is 15 mins away from the apartment . imagine we have 9 people with big luggage have to rent a van from airport to the office and rent another van or few cabs to the apatment its so troublesome for travelers . They should have send someone to send the keys at the apartment .

Do not book this property! The property was clean and the location perfect but only if you plan on staying out all night, partying with everyone else on Brick Lane/Shoreditch. Otherwise, it has single-paned windows and you hear everything. Moreover, in the summer, you have to leave the windows open as it has no air-conditing. As I was on business and had to catch an extremely early flight the next day, I wasn't pleased. Furthermore, I was told 24-hours before I arrived I had to pay a 125 GBP damage deposit. While I don't mind paying damage deposits, nothing was mentioned when I booked the property nor was there any mention of it in all the documents confirming my booking, which was hypothetically "paid in full." It took them over three weeks (and two international phones calls) to get a 100 GBP refunded to my credit card and, when I called a third time to ask about the other 25 GBP, they informed me that was a "cleaning fee." I probably spent more than that in phone calls arguing with the property and the booking agency (AGODA) before I finally got that refunded. I wouldn't recommend Agoda, either, for that matter. So, it's a balance of location/cleanliness against dishonest and underhanded business practices!!

The staff and service was excellent,5 star French and Mediteranean restaurant and good breakfast at the lobby restaurant serving more on bread, sandwiches and toast. Next door to an Indian restaurant called dishom and its near to many Italian , Indian and thai restaurants.The only setback was the noise factor at night due to some clubs around the vicinity,that takes away some points from the hotel in view of the price paid for it.
