It’s so convenient from Hakodate main station and next to Fish Market. Besides staff doesn’t speak well English but they are helpful to translate for me. Nice breakfast spread and takeaway are allowed. Love this! TQ

It is actually 1~2 blocks away from the station. It should be fine normally, but please be careful if you are arriving late on a snowy day.

Average hotel. I like the staff serving breakfast, they took one mask for me when i forgot to wear it for breakfast. Seaweed rice taste nice.

The hotel was very easy to find, so close to the station. It was a little far from the attractions, such as hachimangu shrine, Hakodate ropeway, and goryokaku park. But for a single night, it was a good stay. Definitely good for business travelers. The buffet breakfast was good to fill up before leaving on a trip again. Not a smoker, but was in a smoking floor, so a little tobacco stench left in the room and smelled quite strongly on the floor

The room in Toyoko Inn is standard as usual. It is small but clean and tidy. Well equipped with all amenities you need. There are two Toyoko Inn around the area, both of them are close to the JR Hakodate station. However, this "Ekimae Asaichi" one is better in my opinion. It is at the fish market where you could easily access to the restaurants for breakfast and lunch. All the seafoods are fresh, delicious and cheap. If you are a seafood lover, this is definitely your best choice in town. To visit the attractions, you could simply walk from hotel. It is only around 10 mins walk to the Red Brick Warehouse. And around 20-30 mins to the cable car station. If you drive, it will move you around the city more easily. However, parking fee is quite expensive. To park the car at Toyoko Inn, you will get the free parking on arrival day and 500yen for overnight. So if do not mind to walk, it is gd to park the car at hotel and walk to visit the city.

Toyoko Inn is located near morning market only 1 minute walk and 1 km to bay and red brick. Breakfast looked simple, but very delicious. Toyoko Inn has special service curry rice for dinner on Tuesday Wednesday and Friday, it was very delicious. Room was clean and comfortable.

The hotel is super close to Asaichi morning market. Walking to JR Hakodate from the hotel is not more than 10 minutes. The facilities are good and clean but the room is a bit tiny. The complimentary breakfast is just ok.

Sightseeing in Hokkaido”
I requested a "Non-smoking" room through Agoda. However, upon sign in I was given a smoking room which made my stay less than pleasurably . Since Toyoko Inn did not have available "Non-smoking" rooms, available, I had to suffer through the ordeal. Still wondering where the communications on my request failed.

Hakodate Morning Market is just between the hotel and JR station”
Best value for money, didn’t disappoint a bit, the hotel can be seen from the Hakodate JR station, free breakfast is very tasty and filling, I was able to grab the free curry dinner on a Thursday, the room was just the right size for me, very clean, the staff are very friendly and helpful. One thing I that would have made me happier was if the room could provide free bottled water because I just am not used to taking water from the faucet in the toilet and if there would be more than 1 pillow. The market is just a few steps away, beside a Sapporo drug store, Familymart everywhere, the red bricks house also is just a few meters away.

Oldie but Goodie”
I was not expecting much but then I liked it. The hotel looks old but not in a bad way. It was almost classical. Lots of details that caught my eye especially in the room. Staff were great and I did not need to brush up my Japanese. They were speaking to me in English. Nice breakfast as well, with both Japanese and western options. Only 2 negative things but I consider them minor: I stayed at the 2nd floor but I was told just use the elevator; no body scrub/towel, maybe because there is no need to scrub those dirt that usually accumulate in humid weather. Overall, it was a great stay. I will stay again if I go back to Hakodate.

Recommended for budget travellers”
it was located just 5 minutes on foot from Hakodate station and close to local attractions such as Morning Market, Red Brick Warehouse, etc. the staff were great; they tried their best helping us even though their English was poor. VOD was also the cheapest we could get in Japan. Other hotels in other places would cost you 1000 yen while it was only 500 yen here. there were also free breakfast and dinner service which was not mentioned in our booking. this was such a relieve for us who arrived late and were starving.
