"I realized my mistake booking it within an hour after reading the reviews. It was as bad as expected plus some surprises: the kitchen is not equipped for the number of people staying (5 mugs for about 20 people), broken dishwasher, really gross washrooms, and on top of it, heating wasn't working in our room.
Having booked over a month in advance I tried cancelling right away but Agoda refused saying that the hostel won't allow it. I called the hostel and they were happy to refund - they never got any requests. Agoda is a scammy anti-client service and I'd never use it again."

"I like to come out to Canmore solo from time to time for some quiet time. Got an unbelievable rate so I jumped at it. This has been three days of bliss. The front desk staff were helpful, the restaurant staff were too (food was delicious and well presented). The room is spacious, the bed is comfortable, the linens are crisp. Overall the room is tidy, but there is a bit of room for improvement (along the shower door and trim).
I'm in the "annex" building (not the one you see in the photos). This is the one without pool access. Didn't matter to me. Parking is adequate, albeit a bit tight. There looks to be some future construction happening in the lot immediately north of this building. I've seen semi-trailers parked there and they tend to start the vehicles early and idle them for a bit before leaving. There is some highway noise, but it's the end of March, so you don't notice it until you open a window.
I will definitely consider this hotel for future getaways."

"I discovered this place while searching because the hotel prices in Banff during the summer peak season are exorbitant. The rooms were clean since they were newly remodeled, and I was satisfied with the facilities. It doesn’t seem like they do room cleaning, so I requested towel changes at the lobby every time. If you only think about the price, you might wonder if it's worth it at this cost, but comparing with other places in Canmore during the summer peak season, the prices will be similar everywhere. The facilities are clean, and there are coin laundries, dining, and grocery stores nearby, making it quite a decent accommodation for traveling in Banff. However, the price difference between the summer peak season and the off-season is enormous. I booked it knowing that. Also, I found that online check-in/check-out is very convenient, more than I expected."

"The place is pretty old. Bathroom does not have vanity counter space. Booking said “breakfast included” but there is no “breakfast”, they only have coffee and some granola bars. But location is good (20 minutes to Banff entrance)."

"A convenient location about a 20-minute drive to downtown Banff! There is a free drink bar (coffee, various types of tea bags, hot water, etc.) and an ice machine, which was very helpful for us since we wanted to drink coffee every morning. Additionally, there is a water dispenser, and it was really nice to be able to refill our water.
Furthermore, the on-site coin laundry also sells detergent, and there is a convenient change machine that accepts $5 bills for coin use.
Regarding the room, some may feel that the walls are thin and the shower is small compared to Japan, but considering the price range abroad, it was clean and satisfactory enough. The cleaning staff greeted us with smiles every time we passed by, and the front desk staff were very friendly, making an effort to understand my limited English, which made me feel reassured.
Overall, it was a very pleasant stay."

"This was my first time staying at the Blackstone - and I have visited Canmore more times than I can count. The hotel is in an excellent location, with a 10-15 min walk to downtown Canmore. Easy underground parking. The staff? Exceptional. Friendly, professional. Above and beyond. Now on to the rooms. They are clean, pretty and comfortable. I would even say I felt a little spoiled staying here. Would I come back? Absolutely. "

"It wasn't downtown Canmore, but there were no inconveniences with the location since we drove in a rental car, and it was nice that we could walk to a bagel restaurant. The receptionist was kind and responsive to our inquiries. The room was a bit small for laying out two large pieces of luggage, but it wasn't a major inconvenience. The bathroom was clean. I was a little disappointed that there were no salad options for breakfast. Instead of a pool, there was a hot tub which was nice for relieving fatigue.
Above all, it was a great spot for morning sunrises. I had a life-changing sunrise experience here."
