Excellent place”
Had a wonderful stay at this lovely place. I would say some of the experience depends on who else stays here of course as you have to clean up after yourself. I was fortunate enough to have cool roommates. For sure will come here again the next time I visit Amsterdam. Cannot say enough how much I loved this place. Thankyou Ecomama

Perfect place to stay if you don't want to spend all your money on lodging and restaurants. You can cook there, chill there, meet people there... Staff is nice and welcoming and the place is beautiful, clean, modern but warm, respectful of the environment... just love it!

I've been 3 times to Ecomama and would warmly recommend the place at least to anybody who wishes to stay in a dorm (I haven't tried the rooms). The place is beautifully decorated, clean, modern but warm and welcoming, easy to meet people, can cook there, fully equiped, respectful of the planet. I love it!!

Really lovely place to stay. I stayed for one night and it was perfectly suited for my needs. About a 15 min walk from Amsterdam centraal through some lovely canals. The staff are really friendly and welcoming. The kitchen is really well kept, and a supermarket less than 5 mins away means you can cook your dinner with no issues. Fairly comfortable rooms that are safe and fairly clean. Would defo recommend for all travellers!

The hotel is 10-15 minutes walk from the central train station but is about 3-5 minutes walk from waterlooplein metro station. It is also close to the supermarkets or some sightseeing locations. The staffs at the hotel are very friendly and helpful. The kitchen has all the things you need but the stove is a bit old. There are different activities the hotel host to let travelers to understand Amsterdam more. Overall, I would recommend this place to everyone.

The staff was very helpful and friendly, the place is very welcoming and very close to walk-able distance to main city center areas. it's very safe during night to get back if you are going out for a night out.

Quiet location with big supermarket nearby, friendly and helpful staffs, good kitchen facilities and big social area.. The worst is shower without temperature control, and not much hot during cold day. Share toilet and shower for male and female.

Great option for solo traveller”
The dorm layout has been worked on cleverly to stagger the beds. However, curtains on individual beds could have been added for privacy. Option for early breakfast on the go should be there. I had to skip it both mornings. The staff is exceptional!

Ecomama is a cosy and convenient hostel. It's close to the center and public transport is nearby. I only stayed one night but I really liked it! It has a unique, cosy concept and the staff is really friendly. The check-in goes smooth and there's an overall casual atmosphere in the hostel. They also make the beds and do the laundry for you, which never happened to any of the hostels I went to before. And the beds are really comfortable! I also like that the showers are separate from the room. It lowers the chance of waking up roommates! I also love the concept of the hostel. Overall it was a great stay, no negative remarks, so i genuinely recommend this place!

If you wanna travel like a hippy...”
Stayed two nights and chose 12 mixed dormitory. For the first night I was a only female with other 7 men in the room. Sure I chose mixed but I didnt expext that so a bit surprised. Aside from that, all the toilets and bathrooms are mixed-use. On the second morning some guy started to play loud hiphop music from the showerroom and staffs just ignore it... It was also a bit weird experience. I used laundry service, washing and drying cost just 6 euros and the clothes were returned holded. That was reasonable and really nice :)

It would have been a perfect 10 for me (location, amenities and cleanliness are to rave for!) if only not for one of the guys working by the reception who wasn't accommodating as the rest. But Saskia, the owner I believe is very, very accommodating and considerate with my request. I will definitely book here again if I am back in Amsterdam.

Never looking for anywhere else when in Amsterdam ”
Great staff & atmosphere around the area! The hostel provide map which is easy to understand, nice bed (i stayed in girls dorm), perfect view outside. and the hostel is located in the good area where a bit away from the red light district (that's great for me) At the entrance of the hostel, you will find the cafe where you can have a cup of good coffee and banana bread in the morning. beautiful space inc. tepee, long table, kitchen, outdoor smoking area :) Moreover, I really love the smell of bedsheet...Surprisingly good though. By the way, I think the bathroom is mixed for both male & female but it wasn't my big thing as long as it safe & still clean. It happened some noise of door close in the morning from another room next to mine. it depends on your luck for this case ;) Definitely stay at Ecomama again next time. Highly recommend Highly recommend for sole traveler (esp - a girl) and a couple

I expected something much worse for some reason, and upon arriving found the staff pleasant, check in was easy, bed was clean and very comfortable! Would definitely stay here again!

Nice location ”
Pros: a kitchen, a nice common area, nightly events, and clean bathrooms. Only 10 minute walk to the nightlife. Cons: beds are squeezed in the room. Not enough lockers in the room, no bed chargers for phone, room doors slam easily. Must take metro to hostel which is more expensive than the tram.

Lovely place to stay”
Ecomama staff is super welcoming at first. The front desk and the hall are amazingly trendy and everything seems special since vintage itens of the kitchen to the big tend which servers like a common space for groups to socialize. The bedrooms are OK and the windows are just by one of the city canal, providing a great view.
