The room I booked had a very small shower cabin. That was disappointing, but the room itself was ok. Breakfast average. No fitness facility (have to go to neighbour building..)

Mercure hotel”

Nice hotel, lovely staff, 25mins walk to the train station, 20mins from the station to Assen, 12mins bus ride to the Motogp.

Located away from city center, hotel offers a quiet alternative”

We landed in Groningen to get daughter settled into university for graduate work and had a week before her apartment was ready. Hotel is about a 10-minute walk to the No. 10 bus stop, which will take you in less than 15 minutes to the Grote (big) Market, which is inside the no-cars allowed City Center. Can also catch the bus to the door of the behemoth IKEA. We also took taxis to the market for about €10 (at night and in rainy weather). The front-desk staff was very helpful (hailing cabs for us because there is no Uber or LYFT in Groningen), the breakfast buffet was elaborate and refilled frequently, and the room cleanliness was above average. I booked, regrettably, through Agoda. Hotel website offers better deal.

Don’t get an adjoining room”

Had to change room because of noise from athletes next door. A door is no noise insulation. I was moved to a different room without quibble but it smelt of Body Odour. Not a restful night. Ok if you have a car but not very central. You can rent a bike though.

Good stay”

Everything was good except for the location. It was not too far, but not too close from center.

Nice hotel”

Four guys on a cycling holiday. Hotel was difficult to find and is on the outskirts of town. The rooms were really claen modern and functional. The bar was excellent and stayed open late just for us. Braekfast was sensational but not cheap and i had forgotton it was not in the room rate. Not the end of the world and overall a nice place to stay

Nice bussiness hotel but far away from city center”

we travelled as a group who visited a conference. i expected close to town hotel what is really not. it´s about 30 min walking or 15€ taxi. rooms are small, but cosy and clean.

Nice hotel at good location”

i stayed in the mercure martini plaza hotel as a business traveller. it turned out to be an excellent "base". the rooms are very nice (i'm very fond of the rain shower) and the location is excellent just next to the highway. a nice option at the hotel is the possibility to use one of the hotel's bikes. by showing your hotel key you can obtain one of the bike's and cycle wherever you want. the city centre is also nearby (about 2km) so it's a possibility to cycle there as well. all in all a nice hotel to use when you have to be in the city of near it.

Contemporary design with abundant breakfast”

Although the hotel was built in the late 70's, it has been renovated since then. They paid extra attention to create a nice atmosphere using different materials and colors. The ambiance now is contemporary and relaxing. Breakfast buffet was abundant and on our request they instantly prepared a lunch box for us (€15).

Great location for trade fair visitors”

We stayed in the hotel to visit Trade show at Martiniplaza. Friendly stuff, clean rooms. Although there is extra payment for the Internet use WiFi or cable. There is a highway next to the hotel,

Comfortable and convenience hotel for business”

It was a business trip when I stay in this hotel. The experience was both relaxing and enjoyable. The room is clean and service is good. The lack of extra facilities such as gym and swimming pool were made up with a tasty spread of breakfast. The staff was very helpful particularly Eddie. He went the extra miles to find 50 euros of coins for me to purchase train ticket from the machine. Without this I will not be able to travel to the airport on time in the early morning. The location is not too far from city and can be reached by 15 mins walk. Indeed, it is highly recommended for a stay in Groningen!

Bon hôtel mais trop bruyant”

Les chambres sont rénovées dans un style moderne, le personnel est poli et efficace, le petit-déjeuner est bon et varié mais le principal défaut de l'hôtel est qu'il se situe à la sortie d'une autoroute: toutes les chambres donnent sur celles-ci et il est impossible de dormir la nuit (mauvaise isolation); De plus, à moins d'avoir une voiture, il n'est pas facile d'atteindre le centre-ville (assez loin).

Wir waren rundum zufrieden, Zimmerausstattung war sehr gut, Matratzen sehr gut, Frühstück lies keine Wünsche offen. Staff sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Extra Raum für Fahrräder wurde uns sofort kostenlos angeboten. Rund um Groningen schöne Radtouren möglich. Alles bestens und sehr zu empfehlen.

Super - gerne wieder”

Das Hotel ist super zentral gelegen. Mit öffentlichen Verkehrsmitteln oder gar zu Fuß erreicht man die City von Groningen ohne Probleme. Parkplätze sind ausreichend vorhanden. Unser Zimmer war neu eingerichtet und super stylisch. Zur Verpflegung können wir leider nichts sagen, da wir ohne Frühstück gebucht hatten. Das Personal war sehr hilfsbereit und hat uns freundlich empfangen. Wir kommen bestimmt noch einmal zurück!

Vi var trötta efter en hel dag i bilen så vi tog ett besök i baren och en god middag på hotellet. Fint hotell som vi kan rekommendera.
