My mother loved the hotel and so did I. The dinner and breakfast was wonderful. The hotel is placed in a magical atmosphere. In the afternoon, there was a guided trekking tour. This was the best part of our stay. As amateur hikers, we would not have been able to explore the mountain near Midagahara without the hotel guide. I truly thank the hotel for providing my family with lovely memories. I would stay there again in the future.

Midagahara is the stop before or after the peak at Murodo, depending whether you are ascending Mt. Tateyama from Toyoma or Nagano. It has its own temperate vegetation, has an expansive view of the cloud above Toyoma, and in a clear night, one could even see the starry night. The hotel is lovely, and served a great Japanese dinner, with free-flow dessert - melon, cheese tarts and cherry. The dinning room has a great view of Toyoma, and the public bath was nice too. Highly recommended.

A fantastic anniversary trip”
I booked this hotel to celebrate our 10th anniversary and my wife was so happy about it. Its height is so just right so that it was not as cold as the peak. We got an upgrade with a good view. Went for a hiking at 16:00 and came back by 17:00. Dinner had many dishes which made us very full. Enjoy the stay and the environment. We can see many stars in the sky! Will definitely go back!

One of best hotel I have ever stayed Situated in mountain allowing more time to enjoy the snow with less crowded environment. Can enjoy the sunset, possibly also the stars/ clouds. A bit old fashion because it was built more than 50years ago Excellent staffs and services. There is a free guided tour, slide show and star gazing tour ( in Japanese sure) . Never get bored at the night.

The hotel has a group tour around the hotel area, staff will introduce the tateyame alpine with beautiful picture. They provide delicious dinner and breakfast.

Staff is very friendly and attentive,location is superb to walk around in natural environment. Dinner is very good and recommend for their Sake which is good too.

one of the must go hotel in Yateyama!”
The dinner is just awesome compare with 3 largest hotel in Yateyama. the staff are nice and helpful. one time I missed a bus from the bus stop outside. the staff (seems like the manager) helped me to reserved the bus again. also asked the driver to drive in front of the hotel. which really makes me impress! only the bad thing about that night was the weather. it was cloudy so I cannot shoot some nice star picture.

Service was fantastic”
Midahagara hotel is open only limited months. Unfortunately the day we arrived ,was wet n cloudy. After checking into our roykan, we were mesmerized by the view from the window, when the clouds cleared . Thankful got to try n no regrets if u want peaceful accomodation. Service by front desk n restaurant staffs was excellent. Dinner n bfast was really nice n superseded our expectation.

The hotel is in the Alpine route. The location is good, just 20 mins from Muroda by bus. It is surrounded by snow. The views from the restaurant, bed room, big bath room was excellent, overlooking at the snow and mountain. We saw the beautiful sun set while having dinner. The hotel provides walking tour at 4.15 pm, providing walking poles, snow shoes etc if needed. Though we did not understand what the guide said, we still enjoy the 1 hour walk, in which we can see beautiful view. After dinner, they provide star slide show at the lobby and lead us outside to look at the star. The sky was full of sky. Again, we did not understand his talk, we still enjoy it.

A good place to take a break in between the Alpine route”
The hotel ground was looks much pleasant than I had expected, thought the room is a bit dated but very spacious even with 3 beds and 1 sofa bed.

Travelled with mom and sister. The hotel had natural aircon which was fantastic. ”
We could see the sunset from our room which was fantastic. The set dinner was thoroughly enjoyable. My mother said she had never had such a special vegetarian menu and enjoyed her meal greatly. We did not understand the explanation during the star watching but enjoyed being out in the cold. The guide sounded really knowledgeable.

Nice place to enjoy nature”
Its a simple place with NO aircon but it was cooling even in summer and they do offer a fan. The staff was extraordinary and they went out of the way to cater to our food requirements. Nature walk just beside the hotel is beautiful.

Hotel is located at one of the highland bus stops, so it was easy to get to. Amazing snow landscapes all around the hotel. A very fulfilling Japanese-style 9 course dinner and a simple western-Japanese breakfast buffet was provided. We were upgraded to a larger room due to fewer bookings, maybe just passed the peak season. Only activities available when we were there are the trekking event (which we missed) and slideshow presented in Japanese after dinner. Overall a great time as we dined in view of sunset and trekked to the Caldera Observation Deck.

Hotel is in a perfect location and everything was perfect. Wish they have a rates for solo traveler.

Staff were awesome, check-in was a breeze.Buffet dinner and breakfast had many varieties. Indoor and outdoor hotsprings!
