Relaxing, Pool, Good Value”
Morakot is near a quiet hillside. It has a nice pool. I liked staying here. I wanted to stay longer, but their weekly and monthy rates are more expensive than nicer nearby apartments. If you don't want a beach hotel, then Morakot is a good choice.

Good Pool”
I like this place. It's close to two little areas that have restaurants. It's not too far to walk to the beach. The hotel is not on the street. So it's quiet. Behind the hotel is a forest and hill. The rooms are very simple. This is not a fancy hotel.

Amazing Family and Staff!”
Such nice people which makes such a healthy difference. Great pool and nice room. Good location if you have a scooter/self transport to get around the island. I really enjoyed my stay and think you would too!

The One and Only”
During the low peak season when I travelled to Koh Lanta (June), I found out I was the only guest in the whole property. I don't see anyone else nor any lights for other rooms. You can rent the bicycle or motorbike from the property themselves. Very reasonable price. The operators (whom I think is a family) are very friendly and nice! Location wasn't that fantastic but it's still reasonable. You can get to the resort across the road for nice beaches. Or take a ride down to one of the numerous beaches in Koh Lanta. The nearest 7-11 is a distance away and numerous restaurants are closed. So if you're lazy like me, expect to shop for everything before you get back to the room!

Great fruit shakes!”
The family that runs this place was so sweet and attentive. The pool was nice and they made the best fruit shakes there. Breakfast was also good and reasonably priced. We rented scooters from there and it was very convenient as there's not much within walking distance. The rooms and hotel could use a little TLC but was a good value for the price.

I stayed at the Morakot for nearly a month. The staff is professional and kind. The pool is great. Breakfast is nice too. Everything is good really. The wifi is fast too.

overpriced, worn out”
cons- i booked a pool access room during our 2.5 month thailand travel for 5 nights and paid 1540 baht per night . it's not low price in that area at all. but as soon as we got there we were very disppointed. the reception was not friendly or welcoming somewhat looked languid. as I had booked a room on agoda.com, I asked them to give us a specific room and I'd got 'yes' from them. but when we checked in the staff just gave us a key of other room without any mention that the room I asked was given to other guest. so far was okay but as soon as we entered the room we got to know the room was not good. bathroom was dirty, toilet seat was moldy, dust and hair were on the floor. no mosquito net any windows, any doors. much rather 500baht one than not 1540baht one. room was just basic. pool was much smaller than picture and the view from pool was really unpleasent, one side was wall of the hotel building which was cracked and the paint was peeling. other was a transmitting tower. we were sad. to cheer up ourselves we went to the beach but the way to the beach was also unpleasent because we had to walked throught private area(long beach chalet hotel) and there were many signboard of warnning. we slept only one night and asked to refund the rest of it. pros-they were kind enough to cancel and refund our rest 4 nights. they were so cool that when checked out they just said that "Check out? Okay!" that's it!!

Lovely stay.”
We stayed at the Morakot for 3 nights and had a lovely stay. We were greated with a complimentary juice upon arrival. The staff were very friendly and helpful and even took lir bags to the room. Lovely swimming pool. Would definately stay here again and recommend.

Goryar and Kut (and their parents) are lovely humble people. They were always friendly, caring and attentive during my stay. The hotel is well managed and clean, and everything is in working order. Beautiful and clean swimming pool! The scooter rental onsite was also a big bonus.

The pool is awesome and it’s much needed in the heat! Pool was clean, we stayed in a superior pool access room so we had our own private area with shaded umbrella, table and 2 padded sun beds. There was an air conditioner, mini fridge, tons of cupboard/storage space for luggage etc, a tv (no English, but that’s fine😜) spacious bed, nightstand ect. Bathroom was ok besides the water pressure, it was almost a drizzle which really sucked! Location was pretty close to long beach, we went to a few different beaches and long beach was the nicest in our opinion to enjoy the view, eat, drink and swim! We would definitely recommend this place to other couples as it’s off the main road and away from all the noise.

Comfortable and quiet stay”
Rooms were a decent size and clean. Had an issue with power cuts through the night so room got really hot by we were told it was the whole island so can't really blame the hotel. Hotel set back from the busy road and a good location to start your scooter rides around the island

We wanted a quiet hotel location, and this was perfect, down a small street off the main road with few neighbours, there is empty jungle to one side. We had a great room with a large balcony facing the jungle and a small balcony facing forward! The room was quite large with a new bathroom. The pool has an infinity edge, a built in seating area (that is extremely well finished with no sharp edges and coordinated trim tiles) and a small circular, shallow area that must be for small kids, we thought it was much nicer than the photos showed. They also have a couple large inner tubes for floating around, nice after a day at the beach. The beach is very close, a couple good restaurants nearby (Uncle O's was our favourite). Like most places on Koh Lanta there is no real town close by, Saladan is 10 min tuk tuk away. They rent motorbikes for 200baht a day, very convenient, they also provide helmets.

The Morakot Lanta is an interesting attempt at modern architecture, however, in the end, it provides very nice rooms not particularly unique in style. The good points are very nice, large, clean rooms with nice views, a great pool and terrific staff. They go out of their way to be helpful, particularly Pai and Go! We loved them. They got us rooms at a particularly hard time when Agoda our favorite travel site had none left. The only downside is that it's about a football field from the road, then 2 or 3 more to the sea and there aren't great stores right nearby. Still, they rent motorbikes cheaply so it works out fine.

Rent a bike and it's perfect!”
Yes, it's across from the beach. But if it weren't, it would cost twice as much if not more. Our room had a bedroom and living room, plus three decks. The awesome staff upgraded us. Even the regular room would have easily been worth the money. With the cheap (under $6 motorbikes), the whole island was at our fingertips. The pool was large and the water temp perfect. And, the restaurant was great. The staff, however, were so kind as to make us feel as though we were in our own home. Daniel C.

Fantastic friendly resort”
An amazing resort. Just a 5 minute walk from the beach and also from some great bars and restaurants, it is in a really peaceful location with the rainforest at your fingertips and great wildlife. The room was lovely, clean and modern with plenty of storage and a nice sized balcony. The air con worked really well as did the WiFi. The bathroom was a nice size with a great shower. Staff were super friendly and extremely helpful and funny, especially Goya. The pool was a good size, very clean and very refreshing, although sometimes it was a little difficult to get away from the sun and find some shade. We will definitely be back next time we are in Koh Lanta.
