Probably the worst experience with OYO”
My friend and I landed in the evening at Port Blair and directly went to check-in the hotel. The booking and payment was made online. A lady, who initially claimed she was the owner at the property received us at the desk. As soon as I gave her the details, she said that the booking was cancelled and that they accept bookings only above 1000 INR. The room I booked was 815 INR. The behaviour was uncalled for. She was rude, ill-mannered and senseless. She said that they have rooms to offer for now and that they have cancelled the booking. I argued saying we were notified about this and that this is definitely not done. At this time the lady (who’s name I’m guessing is shahin or something of that sort) got more furious and started yelling at us asking us to leave. I told her that if she didn’t give a the room that booked, I’d probably go to the cops. She then asked us to talk to “her manager” (who happens to be her husband, all this after she herself said she owns the property). Her husband demanded us to pay 200 INR extra and that they wouldn’t give us the room if we didn’t pay. The man said the property was going under loss because of OYO and the company is cheating the in terms of money. So the total sum paid was 1015 INR. We least expected this kind of behaviour after having travelled for more than 12 hours to reach the island.
