Cool old building, nice family staff, simple ammenitieis and interesting location. Worth the 70-100 bucks you'll pay for sure. Low-key underworld element that keeps things quiet/private. Work people in if you want them; they're strict on guests.

Our room on the third floor has a stunning close-up view of Downtown LA. The best part of this hotel is the kind and helpful family who manages the hotel. We have a comfortable and very spacious room with clean beds, refrigerator, microwave, TV, AC, heater. Everything works well. Owning a rental property ourselves elsewhere in CA, there is something that I am very concerned with. They have recently renovated the bathroom, but they have failed to follow through all the way to seal with plaster and caulk around the shower which is sure to lead to dry rot damage down the road. The neighborhood has its share of mentally ill, but don’t let that put you off; They all seem quite harmless. This hotel is very conveniently located near grocery stores and restaurants. A very nice feature is that for $10 more per night we were able to park our car right next door in a gated security compound. We brought our daughter here for three night for celebrating her graduation from UCLA.

My hotel room was totally baron and didn’t even have trash cans in it when I first arrived. ”
I wish they offered more hygienic amenities for showering and things like that. And I wish every room had a fridge in it. (The Room I had this time didn’t have a fridge or microwave). But that’s seriously the ONLY “complaint” I have. Staff here is amazing. It’s a peaceful location. And it’s INCREDIBLY affordable/convenient.

We got a spacious first floor room with modern furniture and wood laminate floors - high ceilings, a huge walkin closet space, very nice. The only recommendation I would add is that there is no fridge or microwave in the room nor any in the common areas.

Let me just say if you are just solely to have a place to sleep in than this is it. I don’t recommend this place for families. I did have an issue with the room and it was fixed. Both clerks where really nice and understanding.

I'll forgo my personal issues with the place, like the TV not working and being charged a 10 buck deposit that I hadn't paid when I was there a week earlier and paid 85 bucks rather than the 53 buck agoda price I got this week, andvwill say with certainty that the stuart inn and (I can hardly believe it but) suites is ideal for a select few. These few include but are not limited to the following "less desirable types, drug dealers(you can hit just about every person in every room and walk away with some stretch. These aren't the church on Sunday God-fearing folks. And last time there I left one morning as two men were performing CPR on a third lying on his back with his leg prompt up beneath his rump. Young and seemingly injury free I couldn't help thinking "Drugs". Which leads me to the second select few....addicts. There was a guy od-ing in the alley , need I say more. Another group would be insects. I know insects are not human but I saw a beetle with a mouth large enough to play the saxophone or speak English. Beautiful eyes aside, a group I like not be a party to or with. The first knock on my door was from a exterminator. He told me not to worry he would spray anywhere i would get into much. Rather than, say, dont worry is not toxic to humans.

Location wise it was great. The WIFI doesnt work in the room. Neighborhood is grubby. Cheap and basic.

Review of the hotel ”
First of all, i didn’t like that the floor wasn’t clean and had dust. Second, the curtían was old and it was torn at the bottom part. Third, the furniture was worn out. Fourth, they didnt have Parking. The people in the counter were friendly. Sorry, but this was what i got. It was nice service, but the things in the room werent all that good.

This place is not a hotel, is more of a rental apartment were owners rent as hotel what is empty. If you like and are used to stay in a place with street gangs residents, do at your own will but be careful. We could not sleep with all the noise and people talking loud, we stayed 1 night because we could find anything at night. Arrive early and inspect the place first. The room smell old, the bathtub was dirty with clogged hair, the faucet smell like shit coming out, the ceiling had fungus, air conditioning did not work well and sheets broken and smelled because of cigar.
