I was dumbfounded. I paid for a room with breakfast. Waited an hour while staff watched tv. Was told to go to reception regarding the breakfast. I was told breakfast was not included. I showed them my voucher proving it was included. She called over her supervisor. The supervisor stated "breakfast is NEVER included." And that was that !

Ver very very basic 1*lodge
The pool is only nice thing about hotel
The idea of staying in a train was very interesting to me and I expected small room/cabin and basic facilities.., but this was much less basic and not much left of the former glory of this hotel. Without spending thousand of rands this place can very easily be upgraded and be given sparkel back, but it does not look like any money has been spent to repair or upgrade anything for many many years. But I do understand that there is budget travellers that also just wants a place to sleep so there is a need for place like this. But then do not say you are 3* hotel.

Something different in a convenient location
Convenient location, something different, very clean
The Train lodge is something out of the ordinary and it was a treat to fall asleep with the clack-clack sound of trains going past. The room and communal ablutions were all spotlessly clean and the lodge also sported a restaurant, pub and area to relax and watch TV. In short, it had everything I needed conveniently close to the airport and CBD

Atrocius Conditions
Train Lodge
I arrived and immediately realized that I could not stay there as it was dirty, smelly and incredibly poorly looked after (Holes in blankets and it looked filthy. I left immediately. I would not even recommend it to a back packer.

Weekend Away
Location. Value for money. Situated in town.
You get what you pay for. Very basic facilities. The lodge gets booked out for parties, so be aware of this when booking. On my last night there was a birthday party. After a long day I came back to a loud party with music blaring. This music only stopped after 00:15 despite management promising it would stop at 23:30. Management could not have been bothered about it when I went to complain at 11:45 being that check out was at 10am the following morning. Based on the attitude of staff and the way that they dismiss customer complaints, I would not recommend this listing.

Gute Lage sonst schrecklich
Der Zusand der Lodge ist miserabel. Von den Sanitärräumen ganz zu schweigen. Nur die Lage und der Preis sprechen dafür. Die Zimmer sind winzig. Nie wieder...
