Seychelles uses the Seychellois Rupee (SCR) as its official currency. Most tourist areas accept a range of payment methods, but cash is commonly used for small purchases and in remote locations.

- Payment methods: Cash (SCR), major credit/debit cards (Visa, Mastercard), and some mobile payments are accepted in hotels, restaurants, and shops.
- Contactless/mobile payments: Contactless card payments are available in larger establishments. Apple Pay and Google Pay are accepted at select locations, but not widespread. Alipay is rarely supported.
- ATMs: Widely available in Victoria, Mahé, Praslin, and La Digue. Most accept international cards, but transaction fees (typically 2–5%) may apply.
- Currency exchange: Available at banks, licensed exchange bureaus, and the airport. Exchange rates may vary; official ID is required.
- Foreign currency restrictions: Payments in foreign currency (EUR, USD, GBP) are accepted at some hotels and car rentals, but local currency is required for most transactions.
- Cash import/export limits: Up to SCR 2,000 (approx. USD 150) and foreign currency equivalent to USD 10,000 can be brought in or taken out without declaration. Amounts above must be declared to customs.
- Transaction fees: Foreign card surcharges and dynamic currency conversion fees may apply; check with your card issuer.
- Major banks: Barclays Bank Seychelles, Nouvobanq, Mauritius Commercial Bank (MCB), and Seychelles Commercial Bank.
- Traveler advisories: Counterfeit notes are rare but check for security features. Retain exchange receipts for reconversion.
