Fantastic place, great fun with friendly staff”
first of all this is a hostel not hotel, but very good for the price. from outside does not look very nice but once you get in is very cozy place. it's lokated on the 4th floor, to get there you can use funky and oldfashion lift. rooms are good size, shared but clean bathrooma amd very nice common room. basic but feeling breakfast and free coffe and tea all day. there is lots of resaturants and coffee shops around, 5 min walk to nasser metro station, 20 min walk to the old islamic cairo. we took all day trip to the piramids from hostel and we enjoyed very much - good price, vary friendly and helpful driver, who was also a staff member. we had a fantastic time in travelers house hotel. thank you very much for everything adel and sam, well done hope to see you again

Amazing service and great spot”
I can't imagine having had more help during our stay in Cairo. Our flight and bags were delayed but the hotel sent a taxi driver who waited patiently for us (at 3 am!) with a great car. Dia recieved us warmly upon our arrival and was happy to accommodate a few requests right away. After serving us a delicious Egyptian breakfast (falafels, pita, beans, greens and tea!) in the bright and airy common room, Dia then spent the rest of the day calling the airport for us to check on our bags. He used his personal cell phone as well as the land line to try all the numbers they gave us and translated the news while he encouraged us to roam the city. He gave us directions to everywhere we wanted to go and advice. Dia will arrange the BEST priced tours and taxis for you, and will give you the insider's tips on anything you do while you are here. The hostel itself is on the 4th floor of a cool old building right across from the museum and a 2 minute walk to the metro and Tahir Sq. We felt so safe and slept so well here. Rooms are simple and shared bathrooms are in a line in the hall and we never had to wait to use. Wifi is fast and free, tea and coffee as you wish, a nice TV and 2 sitting rooms and balconies will make your Cairo stay more than pleasant. Thanks to Dia's kindness and the niceness of this new hostel you really will feel so at home while you are at My Hotel! Book now...

Great Location and Friendly Service”
I wasn't expecting too much given that we booked two single rooms at a very cheap price. Even my Egyptian colleagues tell us this was cheap! We were made to feel very welcome as soon as we arrived. All of the staff were very friendly and approachable. They sugggested good activities and contacted a tour guide to take us to the pyramids who spoke good English. They provided us with a lift for the Nile cruise and recommended a good bar in the evening. My bed was comfortable and breakfast was fine. Overall, the staff made our stay in Cairo very enjoyable and I'd recommend this hotel for any budget or single travellers.

Very friendly, safe and welcoming”
Tonight is our last night - we have stayed for 4 nights. We have a lovely large room all to ourselves. The hotel is on the fourth floor with a lift. It is right in the middle of downtown so very central and close to the Egyptian Museum and Ramses Train Station - several metro stations nearby also. The turkish breakfast is great - we have loved it every morning and we were offered an alternative if we wished. The staff are truly wonderful and you feel very safe and very welcome - they go out of their way for you. Egypt is having a difficult time and there a not many tourists but the guys here are really really great so please stay with them.... Great value for money for a major city like Cairo....

Nice and quiet despite Downtown Cairo”
Very pleasant - rooms are large with decent cooling. Also very quiet despite all the madness that is downtown Cairo. Staff are also very friendly and helpful. The only bad thing I have to say are the power cuts that happen nightly, which isn't the fault of the hotel. Bring a torch and maybe stay out of the lift at night.

The best people you'll meet in egypt”
The guys at the travellers house are the nicest people you'll ever meet in the entire egypt, especially Adel (the owner) and Maged. They even assisted in planning the rest of our trip to aswan and luxor at a reasonable price and all their contacts were just as good. In a country like egypt in its current unrest and problems, you definitely value friends such as the guys at the travellers house.

Great host and great service”
Stayed a night with my family in a family room with 4 single beds and an attached bathroom. It is located downtown. I decided to request for an airport transfer to the hotel rather than haggling outside the airport for one. The host/owner Adel was very very helpful and patient. Hotel is located in Cairo downtown, within the hustle and bustle of Cairo city. Upon arrival, he greeted us and assisted us to arrange for a day tour to visit the Pyramids and the old Cairo city. Very reasonable tour package for a small car which he charged us USD$30. It was a also considered non-peak period and we were the only guests in the hotel. It was the night before Eid, as such, it was really noisy during the night but thankfully we all knocked off as we were knackered that night. Overall I must say that the hotel is a make up of a very old building. It is stay-able, just old and pretty much equipped. All I could say is that the host/owner made our stay better.

Great guesthouse, great location”
Smack in the middle of downtown Cairo, this is a pretty good deal if you don't mind roughing it a bit. As guesthouses go, everything here is decent, particularly considering the price. Nasser metro station and the Egyptian museum are all within close walking distance, and the staff are really friendly and helpful

Basic budget hostel, highly recommended.”
Good location at downtown area with Metro/Subway stations 5 minutes walk only. Wide choice of local Egyptian restaurants along the streets and road. Located at level 5 or 6, with old elevator sometimes not working but usually works. Very basic hostel. The owner named Adel is very nice and warned me of scams to be careful of. Cairo's traffic is noisy with honkings so, bring earplugs for light sleepers. But there is no traffic noise midnight onwards so no problem. For the very low price, this place is highly recommended. I love the living area and the balcony to view the street and sunset. Adel also arrange free airport transfer (depends on how many nights booking) or else it is USD10 if you book through him. Highly recommended. And I got free upgrade to a huge room although I was there alone.

Better get host to arrange transport for you”
I am taking public transport in Cairo and i didn't get any trouble. but at the end of the trip,I rejected airport transfer by host and tried uber and 2 uber driver failed to reach me, and I get a taxi from street. Initially taxi agreed to 150LE to airport, and on the way, the taxi driver keep shouting on me and keep ask money. after i paid him 200LE, driver still keep on asking money. It is very bad experience and it is licensed taxi in cairo! Please request airport transfer from host, and avoid take taxi and uber if you want to have a pleasure trip to airport. con: Host always not around, and other staff is not able to do anything except open main door and pass you room key.

friendly hotel”
we arrive at the night of 23 August, the hostel provide the free pick up from the airport, it looks a bit scary the moment we arrive at the front of the entrance of the hotel, but the hostel is situated of the on the forth floor of the building. and it looks ok. the cleanliness is ok, not the best but not so bad. what we appreciated most from travellers house hotel is that staffs there are so friendly and they help us a lot of things and give a lot of advices about the visiting in Cairo. it s right at the shopping area, Mcdonald and the metro is around 5 minutes walk. breakfast is only a bread and eggs with tea/coffee, nothing really speacial. though the pick up was free but they charged the drop off to the airport when we left around 10 usd

in the heart of the city with very helpful staff”
the rooms are located in a building on a very busy street which quietens at nights when the shops below close. even though the building has a very non-receptive entrance and the elevator is ancient, when you enter through the doors of the hotel on the 4th floor, it is well maintained and fresh. tv and pc in the lounge with a small balcony over looking the busy streets below. rooms have comfortable beds, clean, hot and cold water 24hours. the staff are helpful and made our stay worth it. got our itenaries sorted with them on the first day and they arranged our sight seeing in a private car at an affordable rate. we went to places and were guided on things to do and not to do. overall a great trip!

Runs fairly well.. for Cairo”
Cairo is a crazy city and this is a crazy hotel. But, I guess its cheap enough and they speak English. The elevator looks like its going to break down and you're going to crash down through the floor. The showers and bathrooms have walls that are coming apart. Cairo in general has trash everywhere. It is mass chaos. I guess its a good value... for Cairo?

Cosy place”
probably the most budget place you'll be able to find in cairo without compromising on safety and basic hygiene standards. breakfast was simple but satisfying, the staff friendly and helpful and the rooms generally clean.
