    toilet should be improved”

Liked: perfect location, big bed, big lockbox that I can push all of my luggage. Not liked: Most toilet boxes are not functional, 3rd floor so a bit difficult to heavy luggage. Not sure: I have not spent whole night there so I am not sure if there is any mosquito, I can see some during daylight.

I was only stay for half day before going to airport. As I was there on China luna new year holiday, it was so fun and animated around. The staffs are friendly, they let me in before check in time, so I could have shower. However it was not so clean especially in toilet. If you only stay in few days with low budget, it's still a good choice

I didn't like how you accessed this hostel, above a barber shop with high creepy dark stairs. Once you are at the top you have a great street view. Beds ok, breakfast not so good. At the end of the day it is a cheap place to sleep whilst you explore during the day. Good location

Good place if you go alone”

    Cleanliness, Centre downtown, Convenience

I was the first Vietnamese there during 26-28 June 2015. Like it! Traveller's House is my option because it is cheap in the centre of downtown Yangon ( esp in China Town). It is located right at the right corner of Maha Bandula & 21 street. Walk 10m , you will see the staircase right beside the Key man, look up on the 2nd floor for Traveller's House. Just walk staright the main street Mahu Bandula, lead to Sule Pagoda. All other places are near by with 3000-4000 kiats. At night you can wlk to 19-20 street to eat some street BBQ food. Employee here are nice & friendly & helpful if you need any info about Yangon. ConS: No lift or elivator to go up so it's quite inconvenient for heavy lugguages. Will recommend my friends. Hope you keep up the house in good condition for more travellers.

Lovely place right in the city centre of Yangon”

    Amazing staff!

We stayed in the traveller's house for 3 nights. The place is very centrally located, clean and welcomming. During our last night however my friend became very ill. As the TH only offers dorms, we decided to relocate to a room with more privacy in a different hotel a couple blocks down the road. The staff of the Traveller's House was really amazing, they are such kind and loving people. They helped with rescheduling our bus tickets, gave honey tea and even brought us to our new hotel with their own car. True acts of kindness, they didn't even wanted to take our tips for gratitude. Would definetly recommend this place when looking for an hostel in Yangon!

Feels like a home away from home”

Cleanliness, friendly staff and good location

I loved my stay at Traveller's House and I can't rave enough about it! The staff was incredible, which is what made me want to return again to stay for another 2 nights. They are always smiling, willing to help at every turn and would suggest local places to go and give me advice when I had many questions. They were so sweet and handle situations really well, I felt sad to leave them! The beds were in spacious capsules/cubicles that had privacy curtains, personal power points and a lamp. Personal lockers were provided, big enough to store my whole backpack. The place was spotless (I could practically eat off the floor) and I had the most comfortable sleep. Bathrooms are super clean as well, nice hot shower especially if it's raining outside and i'm staying indoors in a cool air conditioned room. Simple breakfast was served whenever I got up and the wifi was always working and stable, there's even a TV to watch movies or Discovery channel if the weather isn't too good outside. The location is actually a stone throw away from where all the good food is at on 19th street and is easy to walk almost everywhere. Albeit the fact that it's slightly difficult to find in the beginning since it's upstairs but once you find it it is well worth the search. This is the perfect hostel for those looking for a quiet time and comfortable stay. Thank you Cecelia and your crew for making me feel like i'm at home! Will definitely stay again here if i return to Yangon!

    Staff, comfy beds, location

I moved to this hostel from Four Rivers Hostel. I didn't like the atmosphere at Four Rivers and the staff were not friendly during my stay. I was immediately glad that I'd picked Traveller's House Chinatown. The staff greeted me so sweetly and made me feel right at home. I love the capsule style of this hostel and the breakfast was simple but delicious. I will Definitely be back!

    Nice, clean, good location”

Capsule style hostel. Very convenient to meet and talk to other travellers. Met many nice travellers here. Clean, very good location right at the heart of downtown Yangon, in China town, walking distance to Sule pagoda and the newly night market on Strand road is just 3-5mins walking away. Every cubicle has the blackout curtain which is nice and private enough. Breakfast is basic but good enough for me: 2 slices of bread, 1 boiled egg, choice of coffee or tea. Free refill water available. Bathrooms are small and the hangers are like too high, and unstable wifi, one of the lady's toilets needs fixing with the flush buttons, those are the only complaints. Everything is good. Highly recommend!

    location cleanliness staff

a very clean and modern hostel in the middle of downtown Yangon, a short walk to everything 19th street and the pagoda. It was a little hard to find though!! 3/4 meter from the corner of 21st there is a guy making keys, to the left of him is a stairwell if you find that then you will see signs to the hostel. Apart from that the bed are very comfortable and private with power and a light, oh and for Myanmar standards the wifi is pretty good 😄

Great place to stay in Chinatown”

The hotel is located in central Yangon, making it easy to get around the city. The staff are all fantastic, and do a great job of keeping the hotel super clean and well maintained.

The hotel is located in downtown Chinatown, making it easy to visit nearby attractions and restaurants. The hotel is on the third floor of a building on the corner of the main street, so just look out for a small sign posted next to the stairwell or ask a friendly local or taxi driver if you have any trouble finding the place. The staff at the hotel are super friendly and helpful and do a great job of making sure everyone has an enjoyable stay. The place was also well maintained and cleaned everyday which was nice. The hotel has a similar style to capsule hotels in Japan, so if you've been to one you'll know what to expect.

Best in Yangon for anything else under $15/night”

I'll just list why this is the best place ever: 1. air conditioning isn't too cold, isn't too warm 2. they keep the curtains closed and the room comfortably dark until ~10am 3. the bathrooms, the showers, are spotless 4. it's very quite. there's an atmosphere of respect between travelers 5. the lockers under your bed are have a depth equal to your bed length 6. the lockers are HUGE! 7. comes with breakfast (more like a snack of toast and an egg - meh) 8. they supply towels 9. they do laundry for you (not super clean after, I'd pass on their laundry) 10. the staff are very polite and kind and try to help in any way 11. the staff speak very little English (maybe fluent in other languages) 12. the location of the hotel is in a safe neighborhood not far off main st. 13. Chinatown is a central and convenient location to stay in 14. located on the 3rd floor (can be difficult if you have luggage to carry) 15. the price, can't bear the price

    Best staff in Myanmar”

The staff, the cleanliness, high water pressure showers.

My friend and I stayed here. This place is amazing. It's super clean, the bathrooms are comfortable, showers have high water pressure and hot water. Basic but great breakfast served every morning. Beds are super clean. Living quarters basic: cozy in a good way but more spacious than I expected. Plenty of counter space and chairs to do work if needed. The best part was the workers. They taught us Burmese everyday. Leslie took us in her car all over the city and told us about Myanmar culture and the country's situation today and deeply inspired us. Her younger brother William, who also works there, took us out and showed us what Yangon nightlife is. A truly authentic Burmese experience and made real friends. Amazing. Stay here.

    Service excelent!!!”

We stayed here for 10 hours just to rest waiting for the night flight. When we were going to take off, my husband leaved the camera lens on the hostel desk. Then I contacted the hostel via email, and asked the hostel to give the lens to my friend who is still in Yangon. Nunu, name of receptionist staff in this hotel delivered the lens by visiting my friend's hotel. Thanks a lot for all staff, especially Nunu for amazing service! ♥️
