I had one goal for my 6-day trip to Shanghai – attending the F1 Chinese GP. However, I ended up thoroughly enjoying the city as well. With amazing skyline views and tasty food, this trip blends F1 excitement with the cool offerings of Shanghai. Get ready for a fun time in the Pearl of the Orient!
Arriving in Shanghai for an exhilarating 6-day adventure centered around the F1 Chinese GP! We checked into the Harbour Plaza Metropolitan Shanghai Hotel, strategically located on metro line 11, just 30 minutes away from Shanghai Circuit station. I chose this hotel for its convenience in traveling to the circuit while still being close to the city center. After settling in, we geared up for an exciting time ahead!
Begin your exploration with a visit to The Bund, where the historic waterfront offers breathtaking views of Shanghai’s skyline. Stroll down Nanjing Road, one of the world’s busiest shopping streets.
Later, venture into the trendy Zhangyuan area, exploring its chic coffee shops and soaking in the local culture over aromatic brews. It’s a perfect blend of history, shopping, and modern urban charm in one unforgettable day!
Dive deeper into Shanghai’s culture with a walk along Anfu Road and Wukang Road. Explore the charming streets lined with boutiques and cafes. Then, ascend the Shanghai Tower in Lujiazui for panoramic views of the city. Conclude your day with a visit to the Pudong Art Museum and capture the mesmerizing Shanghai skyline from Flair Rooftop.
The much-anticipated F1 race days have finally arrived at the Shanghai Circuit, marking its return after a five-year hiatus from hosting the event. The circuit buzzed with excitement as fans gathered to witness real racing action unfold on the track. You could feel the electric energy in the air, with cheers erupting from the stands as each F1 driver raced by. This was my 5th time attending an F1 race. I tried my best to show the Thai flag and cheer for Alexander Albon Ansusinha, a Thai-British racer, from afar.
A tip for attending events like this: always be prepared. Since the racers zoom by at lightning speed, I make sure to have the race streamed on my phone as well, so I know exactly what’s happening.
From the roar of the engines to the nail-biting competition, these two days were filled with unforgettable moments of pure racing joy.
As our time in Shanghai came to a close, we made one final stop at Jing’an Temple to offer our wishes for continued luck and prosperity. Amidst the serene surroundings of the temple, we took a moment to reflect on our unforgettable journey and express gratitude for the experiences we had in this vibrant city. With hearts full of memories and hopes for the future, we bid farewell to Shanghai, carrying with us the spirit of adventure and the warmth of its hospitality.
