3 Days discovering Pattaya, a marvelous destination in Thailand

When Thailand comes to mind, one instantly dreams of stunning beaches, vibrant nightlife, and a kaleidoscopic culinary scene. Among these coveted destinations, Chonburi Province in general and Pattaya in particular stand out with their enchanting beaches and the lively atmosphere of their ever-awake streets. With its sprawling beaches and bustling nights, Pattaya beckons travelers from around the globe. It’s not just a haven for sun and sea lovers but also a paradise for those seeking the jubilant vibe of this renowned beach city.

Chonburi Province, a coastal gem of Thailand, is celebrated not only for its breathtaking natural beauty but also for preserving numerous historical and cultural landmarks. From silky white sand beaches to ancient temples, Chonburi Province promises a palette of diverse and colorful experiences.

Below are the places and activities to embrace this destination to the fullest.

Day 1: Travel from Bangkok to Pattaya

Pattaya

My husband and I chose Cape Dara Resort for beautiful beach proximity and stunning pools. After settling in, we headed out to explore Pattaya’s most picturesque spots.

Pattaya Beach
The city’s heartbeat with white sand and clear waters. Central to hotels, restaurants, and entertainment.

Papa Beach Pattaya
A cozy café with beautiful views, located on a secluded beach south of Pattaya Centre.

Golden Buddha Mountain
A celebrated landmark in Pattaya, featuring a majestic Golden Buddha carved into a cliff. From its summit, visitors are treated to a breathtaking panorama of Pattaya city and its picturesque bay. This spiritual and scenic marvel is a short journey of about 10-15km southeast from the heart of Pattaya.

Phra Tamnak Mountain Viewpoint
Capture the essence of Pattaya from this spectacular vantage point, where the beauty of nature unfolds beneath you. Offering stunning vistas of both the city and the bay, this viewpoint is an essential stop for anyone wanting to snap that perfect photo. Located just 3-5km south of Pattaya’s bustling center, it’s a tranquil retreat that promises unforgettable views.

Day 2: Switch to Hard Rock Hotel Pattaya

Pattaya

Blend relaxation with exploration of local markets and street food.

  • In the morning, we hung out around the beach and visited Lan Pho Na Kluea Market for lunch, followed by seaside and pool relaxation.
  •  In the afternoon, we walked around the streets.
  • In the evening, we strolled and had dinner at The Sky32 Restaurant, offering expansive city and bay views. This is the ideal place to enjoy dinner and romantic views in the evening. After that, we checked into the Hard Rock Hotel Pattaya, concluding our day with relaxation and anticipation for the adventures ahead.

Day 3: Near Pattaya (Chonburi)

Pattaya

We stayed at Novotel Marina Sriracha and Koh Si Chang, venturing out for more thrilling experiences:

Dare the Skies with Thai Sky Adventures
For those chasing the thrill of altitude, Thai Sky Adventures offers an unbeatable opportunity to experience the exhilaration of skydiving. Under the guidance of seasoned professionals and equipped with top-notch safety gear, participants can choose between tandem jumps or solo dives (for licensed skydivers) from an awe-inspiring altitude of 4,500 meters. Whether you’re an adrenaline junkie or someone looking to conquer their fear of heights, this experience promises to be a breathtaking highlight of your visit.

Unveil the Splendor of Grand Canyon Pattaya
Shrouded in its unique grandeur, Grand Canyon Pattaya is akin to stepping into a world where the magnificence of nature is on full display. Engage in heart-pumping activities such as paddleboarding, cliff jumping into the crystalline waters, or simply unwind by the serene lakeside. This site invites adventurers and peace-seekers alike to soak in the scenic beauty and tranquility that stands in stark contrast to the vibrant city life.

Khao Sam Muk Viewpoint
A detour to the Khao Sam Muk viewpoint offers a serene escape where the scenic beauty of Pattaya Bay unfolds in all its glory. This locale is not just about the picturesque views; it’s an encounter with the realm of wildlife, particularly the playful monkeys that inhabit the area. Engaging for both adults and children, this experience blends the allure of natural vistas with the charm of wildlife, making for a truly distinct and memorable part of your journey.
