Venturing further into the southern wonders of Thailand, my husband and I embarked on a flight from Koh Samui to Phuket. This one-hour journey was just the beginning of our exploration of Thailand’s famous island treasure.
For us, flexibility in transportation is crucial on any trip, which often means renting motorbikes upon arrival. However, things were a bit different in Phuket. We booked our stay at Andaman Beach Suites Hotel, which provided convenient airport transfer services. The 500 baht fee for a 40km ride seemed reasonable, contrasting the higher motorbike rental costs directly at Phuket Airport. We only rented a motorbike at 150 baht for 3 hours to explore the Mai Khao Beach near the airport, a prime spot for plane watching.
Staying at Andaman Beach Suites not only offered us stunning pool views but also perfectly positioned us for island exploration. Our night was spent wandering vibrant night markets and savoring the renowned steamed and tamarind crab at Savoey Seafood Restaurant.
After a hearty breakfast and a final soak at Patong Beach, our journey led us to Southwest Phuket. The Karon Viewpoint was our first stop, offering panoramic views of Kata Beach, resembling a colossal green turtle stretching into the sea.
Adjacent to the viewpoint, we captured unique moments with a majestic eagle for only 50-100 baht.
Our next adventure took us to Nai Harn beach, one of Phuket’s most beautiful beaches, perfect for both sunset and sunrise gazing.
Our nocturnal retreat was The Nai Harn, a zenith of luxury stays in Thailand, neighbored by the scenic Phrom Thep cape.
En route to Cape Panwa, we passed by the picturesque Rawai Beach, adorned with a beautiful bridge.
Dining options like Salaloy Seafood and Ban Rim Le provided a perfect lunch spot, with decent food and exquisite views.
Post lunch, we headed to Amatara Welleisure Resort to freshen up and evade the afternoon sun. The serene setting of Cape Panwa offered a blend of relaxation and exploration.
Cape Panwa, with its expansive views, turned out to be an ideal spot for sunset lovers. Noteworthy stops included Laem Panwa Pier and Kao Khad Views Tower, with a fantastic eatery, Khiang Le Pla Phao, en route. Ending our day strolling around these serene locations marked a fulfilling conclusion to another beautiful day, with plans to delve into Phuket’s heart the following day.
Phuket’s center awaited with its unique cultural sights and architectural marvels. Our explorations began with a breakfast stop at Feelsion Cafe Phuket, a steelwork-inspired café offering delightful ice creams and pastries.
Museum Phuket, nestled in the old town, showcased the locale’s rich history. A leisurely stroll offered a relaxing vibe, complemented by a playful respite at Dog Coffee amidst furry friends.
The evening at Monkey Hill Viewpoint presented a stunning sunset view, though adventures with the local monkeys taught us to hold our belongings tight.
Chillva Market’s night ambiance provided a perfect backdrop for local delicacies. Our dining experiences at One Chun Cafe & Restaurant and Raya Restaurant served unforgettable meals, subtly hinting at a familial connection in their culinary approach.
Casa Blanca Boutique Hotel Phuket, with its prime location next to the museum we visited, added a slice of comfort with its beautiful rooms and swimming pool.
Stay tuned as we continue to share our adventures, moving next to the enchanting realms of Koh Phi Phi and Krabi.
