Imagine waking up to the buzz of excitement as I prepared for the ultimate adventure: a pre-booked hot-air balloon ride! This was a bucket list item I had been eagerly anticipating, and today was the day to make it happen. Bright and early, at the crack of dawn (5:30 am to be exact), I was picked up from the hotel and transported to the balloon take-off site.
After a delightful welcome drink, the balloon gently ascended. As I rose into the heavens, the view of Cappadocia from above was truly surreal—like something out of a dream! After 50 minutes in the air, I enjoyed a champagne celebration before returning to the hotel.
But the excitement continued! Upon landing, I embarked on further exploration like a true adventurer. My first destination was the Göreme Open Air Museum and Cavusin village, where history came alive amidst ancient ruins and charming streets. And of course, no adventure is complete without a satisfying lunch to refuel!
Next on the itinerary? Paşabağ Valley and Devrent Valley (also known as Imaginary Valley), featuring rock formations straight out of a fantasy world. And just when I thought it couldn’t get any better, the day concluded with a breathtaking sunset at Uchisar Castle, painting the sky in hues of gold and pink. Cappadocia, you’ve truly captured my heart!
Admiring over 150 balloons painting the sky from the ground was just as breathtaking as taking a hot air balloon ride. With numerous take-off and landing sites to choose from, I decided on the “Love Valley trail” known for offering the most spectacular views straight out of a postcard.
But the excitement didn’t stop there! After the balloon spectacle, it was time to kick up some dust on an exhilarating ATV safari—an opportunity of a lifetime to explore Cappadocia from a different perspective. I felt the adrenaline pumping during this thrilling off-road drive through Cappadocia’s beautiful valleys.
Next, I ventured into the mysterious depths of the Underground City, uncovering secrets hidden beneath the earth’s surface. Given the choice between Kaymakli and Derinkuyu Underground City, I opted for Derinkuyu, the largest underground city with tunnels that stretched over 100 meters.
As twilight descended, I boarded a night bus bound for Antalya, eagerly anticipating the next chapter of my journey.
Upon arriving in Antalya early in the morning, I hopped on a smooth tram ride from the “Otogar” station, using my AntalyaKart for convenient transit. Given the unreliable frequency of public transport on this route and its inability to reach Pamukkale’s main gate, I opted to book a guided day trip excursion, which saved a lot of time and was incredibly convenient. As I embarked on this adventure, I was captivated by the magnificent ruins of Hierapolis. From the grandeur of the Temple of Apollo to the awe-inspiring Great Theater and the hauntingly beautiful Necropolis, each site told a tale of ancient civilizations.
After exploring the ruins, our guide led us to the breathtakingly beautiful white terraces of travertine, created by the flow of hot springs—a natural wonder unlike any landscape I had seen before.
But wait, there’s more! I had the opportunity to walk to Cleopatra’s Antique Pool. The warm mineral-rich “champagne water” that fills the pool sits just under 100°F and is believed to have therapeutic healing properties. It was relaxing and fun to swim past ruins in this historic setting.
Finally, we visited the Hierapolis Museum to delve deeper into the region’s rich history.
As the sun began to set, bringing an end to my day of exploration, I was whisked away back to my hotel, filled with memories of a truly unforgettable adventure!

I then boarded a Havataş bus to Taksim, choosing the most budget-friendly and convenient option to reach the bustling heart of the city.

With accommodations sorted, I set out to explore the lively streets and immerse myself in the vibrant sights and sounds of Istanbul.

Afterward, I leisurely strolled along the iconic Istiklal Street, where the blend of history and modernity created a captivating experience. However, the highlight of my day was ascending the legendary Galata Tower, which offered breathtaking panoramic views of Istanbul, marking the perfect conclusion to an exhilarating day of exploration.
For dinner, I treated myself to a cozy and authentic meal at Ali Ocakbaşı, where the delightful atmosphere and scenic views enhanced the dining experience. The mezzes were mouthwatering, and the grilled meats were exceptional. To end the evening on a sweet note, I savored a delicious kunefe dessert.

I highly recommended visiting in the morning to beat the crowds and fully appreciate this famous location. Spending a delightful three hours wandering through its ancient halls and marveling at its grandeur, I felt transported back in time.
As midday approached, I sought out a charming rooftop café nearby, treating myself to a sumptuous lunch while soaking in panoramic views of both Hagia Sophia and the enchanting Blue Mosque.
With renewed energy, the afternoon brought further excitement as I ventured to the iconic Blue Mosque, followed by a leisurely stroll through the vibrant Spice Bazaar and the bustling Grand Bazaar. Each step offered glimpses into Istanbul’s rich cultural tapestry and vibrant marketplace traditions.
As the sun began its descent, I boarded a tram to Eminonu Pier, where anticipation mounted for the highlight of the evening: the Bosphorus Dinner Cruise. Having booked my tickets online, I eagerly awaited the enchanting journey along the shimmering waters of the Bosphorus, punctuated by delectable cuisine and breathtaking views of Istanbul’s illuminated skyline. It was truly a day of exploration and discovery to remember!
In the morning, I embarked on an opulent journey through history with a visit to Dolmabahçe Palace, where I gladly paid the entrance fee of 1800 Turkish Lira. The lavish interiors and exquisite architecture left me in awe, immersing myself in the grandeur of Istanbul’s past.
Following this regal experience, I embarked on a captivating 2-hour Bosphorus and Golden Horn Cruise, marveling at the scenic beauty that unfolded along the way. The views of the Golden Horn, The Topkapi Palace, and the minarets of the Blue Mosque were spectacular.
Once I reached the Asian side of Istanbul, I explored colorful cafes and charming streets.
Then I headed to the picturesque Balat neighborhood, renowned for its ‘Pinterest-worthy’ streets and captivating atmosphere. Exploring its winding alleys and vibrant colors, I couldn’t help but feel like I had stepped into a living postcard, a testament to the timeless charm of Istanbul’s eclectic neighborhoods.
In the evening, I indulged in the ultimate relaxation experience by visiting Hammams & Turkish Baths, immersing myself in the rich tradition and soothing ambiance of these cultural gems.
