Starting with breathtaking valleys and exquisite waterfalls, we immersed ourselves in nature and stayed at the most comfortable hotels, all booked via Agoda, on our 6-day trip to Himachal Pradesh. We covered Dharamshala, McLeod Ganj, and Manali.
Our journey began from Delhi with an early morning flight to Dharamshala. We landed around 11 AM in Dharamshala. As we always prefer, we had a pre-booked cab waiting to drop us off at our hotel, Hyatt Regency Dharamshala Resort. We generally like to keep the traveling day a little easy and hence we rested for a while after checking in. We then headed out in the evening to get the vibe of the place and explore Dharamshala’s main market. We had the best momos and hot chocolate at the German Bakers as our dinner and headed back to the hotel.
Day 2: After enjoying a hearty breakfast at the hotel, we visited the Dalai Lama’s temple in McLeod Ganj. We both prefer having a heavy breakfast when traveling as it keeps us active throughout the day. Later, we checked into another beautiful hotel, alt life luxe | Upper Bhagsu (Mcleodganj), and rested for a while. After lunch, we visited the Norbulingka Institute and Gyuto Tantric Monastery Temple, ending the day with a light dinner.
Day 3: We started our day early with breakfast before visiting the Masroor Rock Cut Temple. We love exploring places that provide insights into historical traditions. Afterwards, we headed to the majestic Kangra Fort, wrapping up our day with an early dinner.
Day 4: We checked out from our hotel and started our 6-hour drive to Manali. We generally like to explore local transport when traveling from one city to another, as it gives us a better feel of the place. We chose the Echor Himalayan Arum for our stay in Manali, but we also considered Welcomhotel BY ITC Hotels Hamsa as both seemed appealing. After checking in and resting for a while, we headed out to the market, enjoyed some street food, and then returned to our hotel.
Day 5: We planned to visit Solang Valley, so we left the hotel early to enjoy the breathtaking views. We love catching sunrises as often as we can when traveling. We spent the rest of the day at Solang Valley, enjoying the scenery in front of the waterfalls. On our way back to Manali, we stopped near Sissu for coffee and local snacks. We particularly enjoy having Siddu when we are in Himachal. We then returned to our hotel and called it a day.
Waking up early, we embarked on a picturesque journey to Rohtang Pass. Knowing that popular places tend to get crowded, we prefer visiting early in the morning to avoid the crowds. We also recommend checking out the Atal Tunnel tour for its amazing views.
After a great trip to Rohtang Pass, we returned to Manali for lunch. Although we were reluctant to leave, we boarded our bus to Delhi from the Manali bus stand, bidding a fond farewell to the majestic Himalayas.
