Friendly Staff but Language Barrier”
Value, Friendly Staff
There unfortunately is a significant language barrier with the staff as it is impossible to communicate with them in English. However, they are very friendly and welcoming - the only problem was trying to find out where they were during check in and check out. They don't seem to have any presence in the hotel when it comes to administrative matters such as checking in and out. However, they do clean the room everyday. The hotel is cheap but very far away from the city center. I chose this hotel as location was not important to me as I had your guides from different companies touring me around for the days I was in Chiang Rai. However, the airport is a good 15-20 minute walking distance from the hotel as I didn't need to call for transport. Finding a taxi is extremely hard, and usually the only taxis you will see are the ones on route to the airport or the ones leaving the airport. Cats were roaming around the hotel grounds. However, due to the cheap pricing of a room, I chose this location and had no problem otherwise.

Does the job if you need to be near the airport”
near the airport, clean room
Nobody was in to receive me. At first none of the phone numbers that I found on the signs got an answer. But after ten minutes someone arrived. She doesn't speak English. It's very convenient for the airport: just two kilometres down a straight road. The woman gave me a lift on her motorbike. If you're trying to save money, get a local bus to/from town from the end of airport road. (The walk to the end of the road took me 25 minutes, with luggage.) The bus was about 20 baht. There aren't any convenience stores in the neighbourhood. There are several mid-range restaurants nearby on airport road. I don't know if any do breakfast: the one I visited in the evening didn't. If I was needing the airport again, I would stay here again.

Nice but in a poor location.”
Air con, WiFi, proximity of the airport.
Nice air con and WiFi. Hard bed but I liked that. Close enough to walk to from the airport but much too far from Chiang Rai. The first day I walked for more than an hour before managing to stop a taxi. The lady who turned up to the location to greet me after I arrived spoke no English although the host who I managed to speak to on the phone did. I would advise getting details of a taxi who you can use for the trips into Chiang Rai or use the monies you would have spent on a taxi to pay for a more centrally located hotel. You will feel very isolated.

Right next to the airport ”
near the airport
just a quick rest stop before flying out of Chiang Rai. Nothing really near the hotel (apart from the airport) other than the new Chiang Rai United football stadium.

Cheap guest house”
Not far from Main Street (Phaholyothin)
We stayed 2 nights in the standard room. Price is reasonable (only 350 Baht a night per room). We cannot complain much but we would like to suggest people to book Superior room that has been renovated. Most room photos that show on website are Superior room not Standard room.

Small room and not good location”
it is very quite
Room is very small but clean. Very far from city center (need a car). Hotel is located in a small "village", so no restaurants around.

Further out but a great place”
Clean and well maintained
I had low expectations and was unaware that this place is further out having booked based on price. But it's an easy taxi ride (if you can get one), I ended up calling one from the Wiang hotel to pick me up, likewise they called for me in the morning. Would not suggest taking a tuk-tuk. The place itself is surprisingly nice, very clean. This is not one of those grimy backpacker joints, but the same price. As well, I was worried as I got there around 11 PM but the guard at the gate had my key waiting for me. Note on taxis, in both instances, they referred to the distance in km x 10 baht versus the actual meter total which I thought was a scam and argued. The differential was 50-60 baht so I cut down the middle and left it at that.
