Relaxing getaway, away from city/town”
My husband and I booked the place with one thing in mind, getting away from all the hustle and bustle of our everyday urban life and relax our minds to somewhere secluded and relaxing. Treetops lodge had greatly offer that relaxation we had been meaning to have for a very long time. Getting to Treetops will be a challenge without any phone map as the road leading there is dark at night but we had no problem looking for it since we had GPRS in hand and Treetop Lodge has strategically placed their signage at the main junction along the Jalan Bakam road. Treetop is about an average of 30mins from Miri town and is quite out of the way from anything (no walking-distance minimart, restaurants etc). During our stay, Connie (and her lovable toddler, Tristan) had been nothing but accommodating and made our stay special and felt like home. Our room (Room No 4) condition exceeds our expectation where the mattress is very cosy, there is a remote air-conditioning AND also a remote ceiling fan in the room along with hot shower available 24/7. The room gives us the 'kampong'-vibe feels that we have been longing for. We had no serious mosquito-bitten incident within our room and our outside porch as the owner was thoughtful to leave a lit mosquito repellent outside, next to our front door. Their surroundings are well-kept with loads of greens and flowers. Breakfast served is just the basic hot beverage, toast & jams, fresh fruits from their garden and the all-time asian favourite instant noodles, maggi mee, either fry-cooked or the soup-based style noodle. (P.S: go for the fry-cooked! Delicious). If you want to have dinner here, you'll need to inform them in advance (we didn't since we had a car to drive out for dinners). There is a limit of internet usage per device, so be aware once you use them all up, you will no longer to have any more internet connection. We have not much to complain about it since we came here to switch ourselves off from our busy everyday life. Overall

A tranquil escape”
Treetops Jungle Lodge is set in a beautiful garden with pond, fish and lilies. It is a very tranquil place to escape to from Miri for a night or two, or to use a a base for exploring the local area. We stayed in a room in the main house - rooms are basic but more than adequate. The beach is a short drive from the lodge so one's own transport is highly recommended. We will definitely be returning!

Peaceful Jungle Haven”
This was diametrically opposite from my prior night in Miri - after the noise of my hotel in Miri, this was peaceful and charming. The only noise here was from the multitude of small jungle creatures (frogs, fish jumping in the dam, crickets and other unknown (to me) insects that call the jungle their home. There is a beach within walking distance that can make you feel as if you are alone on the planet - I had no company other than the hundreds of tiny crabs and a lone, washed-up jelly fish. I was told by the owner that several years ago, a whale shark had washed up on this beach! There is a choice of staying in one of the rooms at the longhouse, which is set in the middle of a man-made like with water lilies and the occasional splashing fish to disturb the otherwise tranquility of the lake. There are also a couple of rooms at the upper level within the main house complex that might be better for people who do not wish to take the steps down to the longhouse. Birds abound and the 2 dogs on the property are very friendly. A lovely place to stay but not much to do other than enjoy the rural area.

A Nature Getaway from your busy lifestyle from city”
An absolutely amazing experience here.My bf and I are seeking a trip that could get us away from the hectic lifestyle back in our city and workplace. If you adore quietness and serenity, environment surrounded by nature, where in the morning, you awaken with listening to the sound of the rooster and feeling morning breeze. At night, you would stargaze and listen to the sound of crickets and read a book under the moonlight. Treetop would really the best place you could find. We rested well. The hosts and the family are very friendly and helpful. They have dogs and cats too! perfect for those who are animals, lovers. The room is clean and tidy. Bathroom too. The place is quite a distance from the town, so it would be advisable to rent a car to be able to move around. But it's definitely worth your stay! Would definitely come back again :) Thanks for the amazing trip we had! Couple from KL

Wish our house was like this feeling.”
Went there with my wife and a friend, intended to use this as a base to go to Niah caves and Brunei. The owner had hand drawn maps for us to get to these places when we arrived , great service. There was what we believe a 'barking " frog the few nites we were there. My wife and I spotted it and tried to take a photo but obiviously , this frog is not too keen with the paparazzi and hopped into the lake. However, it resumed its barking later that nite. The rooms we were in are part of a hostel in the middle of a man made pond and of course , other species of frogs and insects do provide the lullabies for the nite. There is a serene and "left it all" behind feeling with the lodge and breakfast on the verendah with the rising sun is a such a delight you may want breakfast to last till the next meal and wish you weren't rushing off to another place.

Nice cosy set-up”
Be aware that taxi transfers from Miri airport are steep. A 25 min trip to Treetops (zone 6) costs RM55 (USD18). Transfer to airport is Esther, the owner did mention that they're prepared to offer free airport transfer for longer stays (3-5 days). Overall, my family did enjoy the place as the family room that we booked was clean & spacious and the internet was fast (and free!). For longer stays in Miri, it's cheaper to hire a car at the airport and prices are negotiable (unlike taxi fares!) Thanks!

Lazy Jungle Time”
My daughter and I felt well taken care of. We rented a car for 3 days and took a day trip to Lambir Hills and a longer road trip to Niah Caves and Similanju national park. The hosts at Treetop went over and beyond to make us feel welcome, comfortable and at home. We stayed in the double bedroom our first few nights and eventually went into the longhouse. My daughter was over the moon about catching 3 fish (and eating them too.) The location is not near anything, the WiFi was hazy but to me that was the charm, sort of disconnecting with the outside world. I can't imagine staying there without renting the car though. Friendly felines, dogs and turtles, a great place for older children.

Very Nice Place with caring owner”
We had 4 very relaxing days at the Treetops. The owner is a very friendly English man, who had quite a lot of good local tips and quite some interesting stories to tell. Don't miss any of his wife Esther's meals! Most of them use of quite some of the gardens vegetables and fruits. You will find it difficult to top taste, quality and freshness, no matter how much money you are willing to spend. We were lucky to meet some very nice people as well. The rooms and facilities have served well quite a few years and don't hide it. We call it character, others might like to have some refurbishment done not too far in the future. We liked the place very much and the people of course. We are looking forward to return on our next Sarawak trip.

Surrounded by nature but rooms not very clean”
It was a pleasant experience as the lodge was in a quiet area, surrounded by nature and the staff is very friendly, esp the owner who can tell you all kinds of stories and provide good information on Miri and Niah. However, it's located between Miri and Niah caves, so it's better if you have the convenience of your own transport for easy mobility; otherwise you will have to rely on public transport. Also, the rooms were not very clean; there was a layer of dust on the side tables, and one of the lamps had cobwebs. The bathroom sink needs proper cleaning too. The bed was comfortable with clean sheets and the aircond works well, although it takes time to generate cold air. Because it's in the middle of nature, please bring an insect repellent.

Little paradise in the city.”
If you like quiet place & sleeping to the sound of jungle, this is the place! It's a family running lodge and they are lovely people. The wife cooked good local dish for dinner, the room was good and the surrounding was peaceful. Did lots of reading and just enjoying being 'disconnected'.

Relaxing hide-away”
We loved staying here. Really relaxing. Room simple, as advertised, and location is peaceful surrounded by lovely garden, large pond and jungle. This is a remote location though so don't stay if you want a night out on town. Home cooked dinner was delicious.

Treetops Jungle Lodge is a Malay Homestay”
Treetops Jungle Lodge has views over Lambir National Park from the cafe where they serve basic Malay food.Beer and wine,is available with a range of softdrinks. Breakfast (Fruit, toast and tea/eggs extra order) is complimentary. Rates are reasonable. These rooms are in a purpose built Longhouse that sits on a fish pond with shared bathroom facilities. You can catch fish in the pond and there is a lotus flower that blooms at night. The basic double and twin fan rooms are not insulated and are very hot during the day, but here is a verandah that is quite cool at night. The Longhouse is down a steep set o stairs and not suitable for seniors. The beach is too hot to swim during the day. There is a beachouse 15 mins walk from the Lodge but with no facilities (water/power). The better options are the A/C rooms, rates about the same as you would pay in the National Park. You have to book ahead as these rooms are often booked up. Best value is for couples or families with small children (3 bed). Solo travellers and seniors are not really welcomed.

Delightful surroundings and helpful owner/managers”
Mike and Esther are super friendly and helpful owner/managers. They stored l luggage for me when I went to Mulu and helped me sort out transit to their gorgeous paradise. They also upgraded me to a super nice room with a private bath. They only downside is that the lodge is a relatively expensive taxi ride from the Miri airport.

Tranquil hotel great for relaxing”
This is a lovely place far away from Miri, which was great for us to reload after spending some days in the hostel of Mulu NP. The terace had some nice chairs to read in. The homecooking was very nice, albeit a bit expensive for the evening meals. It is also quite expensive to get there by taxi.
