Tribhuvan International Airport hotels & places to stay

Very friendly staff, beautiful rooms with wooden furniture, nice lounge areas and a really nice rooftop balcony looking over Kathmandu where you can watch the planes land and take off at the airport. It is actually a big house and feels more like that than a hotel. It is far from the centre of Kathmandu (good if you want to avoid Thamel) 15 minutes by taxi from the airport (Rs 600) but not too far from Patan or Bhaktapur. They'll make you some nice daal bhaat (lentils and rice) for dinner if you ask - cheap and good. Nice, relatively simple set breakfast. The hotel is located in an upper middle class neighbourhood with no other hotels or tourist attractions nearby which I appreciated as you can see how the locals live - 5-10 minutes walk to shops if you need anything.

At first I didn't have high hopes because I just need a place near the airport to sleep for a night. Turned out the hotel is better than I expected. - The room is a bit small, but very clean. - The hot shower was running fast, so I don't have to wait for long. - It's located just across the airport gate. Very easy to find. It only took 10 minutes to walk (slow) from Kathmandu Airport international terminal to the hotel. - It's quiet at night. The downside: the wifi signal quality was poor, and it's totally not working by midnight.

Lovely clean room, excellent breakfast and dinner, very helpful competent and pleasant staff. The staff is so helpful that I am sure they could arrange a driver to take u to all the major sites in Kathmandu...and they r scattered all over. It is not in a good souvenir shopping area but very quiet and the people in the nearby village r very friendly. We wanted to be close to the airport tho as our flight left early the next day.

We stayed at Sangrila Apartment, Kathmandu on the first day of our week long holiday in Nepal. It was a very comfortable stay and we found Mr Yam's family very caring and attentive. In fact, they perfectly understood our holiday plans and helped us organize it in Chitwan and Pokhara with their extensive knowledge. The hotel is very close to Tribhuvan Intl Airport and the Araniko highway. So, going to Bhaktapur and Nagarkot is easy.

i had a very warm reception from the hotel with a glass of juice on arrival. the place had a family atmosphere, with grandma and kids sitting downstairs in the reception (/living room i think). the rooms were adequately sized and nice and clean. the staff were sometimes a little confused when ordering breakfast/drinks/etc, but worked hard to correct errors with no attitude. the selling point for me was the short walk to the airport - it really is almost directly opposite the airport entrance. i enjoyed the stay and would recommend this hotel for its convenience and honest family atmosphere.

I booked the hotel and asked for airport pick up. As I landed I didn’t find any person to pick me up then I rang hotel couple of time but no one answered. Then I went straight to hotel but the guy over there knew nothing about the booking, he was not welcoming then I Asked him about the hotel manager so that I can speak about my booking but he wasn’t there so I left the place and stayed at another hotel nearby. I would have given “zero star” if there were any option.

I spent 6 days in this hotel (faceplam). Everything you see in the hotel's description/brochure is deceptive in nature and the owner is all about squeezing money out of guests. These are the list of horrors that I went through: 1. I asked for an airport transfer in order to avoid the taxi tout and it turned out to be the biggest mistake. sent a regular taxi and had the audacity to charge Npr500 (average per trip is Npr150 only) that is 300% mark up!. Of course I wouldnt mind if he sent a private vehicle. 2. There is NO rooftop restaurant. The rooftop was an empty space where the water tanks and construction material were stored. Definitely a hazardous place to hang around. 3. The was no hot water on the 5th & 6th day of my stay. Water was just tepid. 4. VIRTUALLY NO WIFI CONNECTION. I didn't bother about the hotel internet, I went to nearby cafes and restaurants instead. 5. Hotel food was just average but the charges were exorbitant. Dined only once.

I was really excited come back to home from Dubai for vacation , when ending of December 2018, I was just counting the days to start my holiday , and problem is to find the best hotel and service in Kathmandu nearby airport to take a rest and reduce stress as soon as possible for that I click on google , found out The Amadablam hotel with a reasonable room rate for deluxe room, service and ambiance,in my case Amadablam hotel is the best for everything ,if someone looking for hotel to stay during your holiday and easy eccess for airport I will highly recommend The Amadablam hotel, definitely will back soon, thanks Yanji your genuine smile with warm welcomed , Aayush thanks helping me for booking hotel entire team such as engineer gentleman who fixed water supply in our room and pro active housekeeping team, always read to fix all needful things, we will see you again

The hotel staff was helpful, from asking the restaurant for specially prepared ginger honey lemon tea, to helping me find over rhe counter medicine for cold...super helpful. The following day, the even provided a complimentary shuttle ti the airport although airport is just a walking distance away (easy for those with less load). Place is so clean and quiet! I'd recommend it to friends who are staying long in Kathmandu.

Very nice location nearer to airport, friendly staff, good breakfast ,it’s only vegetarian breakfast though. But in my 6 days stay I faced lots of stained discolored bed sheets and towels .. after calling the room service thy changed with another washed old sheets n old washed discolored towels. The top floor restaurant is a cool and excellent place to sit and view the city.. and the airplane landing n taking off but with lack of Nepali thali or Nepali dishes / on the food menu. which every foreigner wishes to try. If thy can upgrade with this simple problems I would definitely recommend this to everyone.

I have wanted to stay at this boutique hotel for a while, however I was a bit disappointed with the overall experience. The rooms are exactly as the photos look, beautifully appointed and huge. The bed was one of the most comfortable I've experienced in Nepal. The staff were quite pleasant and certainly helpful. However given that the rooms are directly beside a busy road, it is extremely noisy. The floors were always a little dirty, meaning bare feet will be black on just the short walk from the shower to the bed. Although more alarmingly, if you happen to be showering at night (as you likely will, given the high levels of pollution in Kathmandu), with the lights on you will also be flashing anyone who happens to be looking up at your room. This is because the way the curtains are positioned away from the windows leaves huge gaps, meaning there is nowhere you can stand in the room without being visible from at least one window. In the end, it was a beautiful looking hotel, in a gorgeously restored building, but I won't stay again.

This is an amazing hotel. I was really surprised to see such a big hotel and nicely maintained rooms in kathmandu. They have well decorated my room as request which helps to give a surprise for a life time. There rooms are really double in size than any other rooms in kathmandu. There are big TVs, big bath tub and really a very enjoyable time there for 2 days. Staff is very cooperative but only problem they donot listen the complete discussion on the phone. otherwise they do the needful at the best. clean cafetaria. It is a awesome time to be Hotel for 2 days really want to stay more but holidays are over need to get back on the work. Really a 5 star hotel luxury and amazing time enjoyed there.

Being an Indian, I am writing this review for all Indians that I found it very difficult to adjust according to the Japanese culture and style of living which this hotel offers. The food served was all Japanese which did not even get down of my throat. The doors had no lock n key as in Japan (I suppose) which kept me awake all night with a fear that someone may barge in.

We booked for around a week and I am very impressed with the hotel facade. It's newly built and every single thing in the hotel were customized, from cups to plates to towels. This is quite surprising after having been visited a number of hotels in Nepal. Staffs are very warm and accommodating. Shoutout to the front office staff, the guy who served us daily breakfast, the guard and the housekeeping didi. Cons... was planning to make my own coffee in the room with their free stash, but the cups, mugs and teaspoons were not clean at all. Maybe it was just rinsed and kept like that. Was also planning to cook (learned my lesson after having a food poisoning incident in Nepal previously) since we booked the room with a kitchenette, but water was rusty and they don't have even just sponge or dishwash soap. After opening the rice cooker, the spatula has a dead bug on it. We checked out a bit earlier from our check out date because of the rusty yellowish water. I had allergies and needed to move out. Location is near the airport but it's kinda out of the main road, it's better if you have a car or bike if you were to book in this hotel. This hotel has potential. Hopefully they can improve on the cleanliness.

Tangalwood was recommended by colleagues who had stayed in other Kathmandu hotels. Check-in and check-out were easy. The facilities surround a courtyard which is off of a small quiet street (marked by a well-known shrine -- good for taxi drivers). The hotel has a small number of rooms and serviced apartments. My room was large and well appointed. The bar/restaurant is solid. High-level local business people I met with all knew the place. The manager, in particular, took care to make me feel comfortable. I will stay here again.
