Refuge in Mandalay”
The Triumph is fantastic! My fiance and I actually transferred to the Triumph from another hotel, as the other one smelled of mold and had mosquitoes in the rooms (which can give you malaria in Mandalay!). Triumph was a welcome respite from the city. It is clean, the rooms are spacious and comfortable, and the pool area is as nice as it appears in the pictures. The staff is wonderful. They speak great English and were eager to help, arranging a driver for us on both days of our stay. The only item of pause was the workout room. Very minimal late 90s workout equipment, which was oddly tucked away in an annex building. All in all I would highly recommend this hotel...there is not a lot in Mandalay and at this price it cannot be beat.

Nice hotel...friendly staff!”
We stayed for two nights after a day of delay (missed connections on the trip to Mandalay from the US) and communicated with the hotel via email during our transit through airports in China. The communication was effortless and the staff responded quickly and courteously to almost each of my 4-5 messages. They were also helpful booking a private driver that took us on an afternoon/sunset tour to U-Bein bridge and a few other local attractions. We received a room upgrade - a nice consolation for a missed night - and the room was spacious and lovely, with a giant bathroom with tub and shower. Breakfast buffet by the pool...magnificent. It would have been 5 stars if we wouldn't have felt the dinner and lunch items we tried out weren't a little overpriced. Altogether I'd still recommend Triumph Hotel to anyone interested in staying in this quieter section of Eastern Mandalay.

Unparalelled Service and Crispy Bacon”
Absolutely exceptional service. Upon arriving at Triumph, I realized I had forgotten my passport at another hotel 7 hours away and was leaving in 10 hours to go back to the US! The managers and staff were incredible cool and collected as they insisted that not only would they get this taken care of, but wouldn't it be better for me to go relax by the (awesome) pool while they did so? And sure enough, they called and convinced my old hotel to put my passport on an overnight bus, then they sent a staff member to pick it at the bus station at 3am (because "this is too early for you!") And, to top it all off, they refused payment of any sort for this. No tips no nothing. An amazing place and an amazing group of people here. I couldn't recommend it more highly. They have a great free breakfast that includes crispy bacon and you can NEVER find crispy bacon in this part of the world. A few other reviews have knocked the location but having stayed in a few other places in Mandalay, the town itself is just very spread out and for me Triumph was just as easy to navigate from as the others.

Great Hotel in Mandalay”
Triumph is one of my favorite if not my favorite hotel in my two weeks in Myanmar. I was extremely happy with every aspect of my stay at Triumph. Myanmar is known for its terrific customer service, but Triumph took this to another level. The service was impeccable. I was in awe on how great the staff was. Secondly, the rooms are massive with good tv channels, great air conditioning, and the best wifi I had in Myanmar. On top of all of that Triumph has big pool and serves excellent food at their restaurant. I have absolutely no bad things to say at Triumph, my two nights here were fantastic. Don't think twice about where you stay in Mandalay, stay at Triumph and you will be beyond satisfied.

Mandalay Experience”
Staff were wonderfully helpful and friendly, clean and spacious room, wonderful pool with bar - service here was a little random, 5-6pm daily free hotel cocktail hour. When walking to the fantastic A little bit of Mandalay restaurant, one of the hotel staff was driving in the other direction, saw us, picked us up and drove us to the restaurant - the restaurant owner drove us home - lovely local food in a beautiful setting. Triumph hired bikes for US$3 for half a day and we had a wonderful 4 hours exploring the city. THey arranged a driver to take us to the amazing 1.2km teak bridge across a lake and for the airport. An excellent Mandalay experience.

Great stay!”
Very nice 9 stay in Triumph Hotel , more like a resort style hotel. Thanks for upgrading my room when I arrived. The staff really put their heart on service and everything, as this price we paid, we normally can not get this kind of service in others hotels in Burma. I was very impressed and its the best one so far. Great team and management , do really understand service. Room also nice , with stable WIFI ( not fast , but stable and enough to use ) , and hot show really good all times. Highly recommend to anyone to Mandalay.

The Triumph Hotel was wonderful!”
The Triumph Hotel was wonderful. From the minute I got there I felt welcomed and taken care of. I Had only one tour planned for the two days that I was there but that wasn’t a problem because they made sure to help me have a full itinerary and see the best of Mandalay. The food was delicious and again the people were so positive, friendly, and helpful. I will definitely come back to this hotel and recommend it to anyone traveling to mandalay!

Great Hotel for Short Stay (2-3 days) in Mandalay”
We had a great experience at Triumph Hotel. The rooms are very big and nice, the restaurant is good and not too expensive and the staff is very very friendly. They will do everything they can to help you and make your stay as good as possible. We were very pleasantly surprised. A good place to stay if you don't want to spend too much on hotels, because in our opinion the only other option is expensive 5-star hotels downtown. All other 3-4 stars hotels we tried in Mandalay were disappointing. Recommended!

Far enough away but close enough to everything”
My first visit to Mandalay and I had no idea where anything was or what sites to see. Selected the Triumph on the basis of the description and comments at Agoda site. Appeared to have all the facilities at a good price. Was not disappointed in the least. Had a nice villa with all necessities, including wifi and flat screen tv. Brand new and sparkling clean. A pool with bar was only a few steps away. Restaurant was still under construction but food was fabulous. Enjoyed room service in the evening and it was deicous. Was concerned about the location at first - seemed to be far removed from downtown and shopping but later was appreciative of the fact that I was away from the traffic and hustle and bustle and the hotel is only 15 minutes away from all the sites by taxi. The staff arranged a car for me and I was able to visit all the sites with ease. At the time there was a 10:00 pm curfew imposed and things went pretty quiet quickly. Would stay here again and would happily recommend it to singles and families. The staff could not do enough to ensure my stay was most enjoyable.

Another excellent stay”
Clean, modern and comfortable. I was in Room 1105, the bathroom had a large tub and two showers. The bed was firm and comfortable. The restaurant food is good and the breakfast is excellent. On arrival there was a smell of drains in the bathroom. This was due to the strange layout of the showers. The one over the bath must be rarely used allowing the water level in the shallow U traps typical of baths to evaporate. Thereby falling sufficiently to allow smells from the drains to enter the room. Quickly corrected and no further smell. The WiFi signal is strong and I had no problems with the free internet. The hotel is located some distance out of the centre of Mandalay. This was never a problem as friendly taxi drivers wait just inside the gate and will do tours or straightforward journeys. Be aware both the taxi drivers and the Hotel want payment in US Dollars (pristine condition) and if you pay in Myanmar Kyats the exchange rate they use is terrible. I have used the hotel twice now. It is much nicer to fly into the country at Mandalay than traffic blocked Yangon. I will definitely stay at the hotel again if my plans to go trekking in Hsipaw come to fruition.

A Must Stay in Mandaly”
A must stay if you plan to visit Mandalay. A pleasant place only 15 minutes away from downtown and noisy traffic. Nice pool, clean and big room and a very nice and efficient staff. Will I go back to Mandalay, I will book Triumph Hotel without any hesitation.

Excellent!”
I had a lovely stay at The Triumph although I was very lucky as I only paid economy and got upgraded to a bungalow. The bungalow was immaculate. It had teak parquet floors. The room was massive, with two double beds, wardrobe, dresser, computer desk and more. I felt blessed that I had been given this room after a crazy taxi ride from the boat. The staff were extremely helpful and made my staff very pleasant. The free cocktails were a real bonus too, I would definitely recommend! It was a little bit out of town but this made for a quiet night, which was great after the noise of Yangon. They also recommended a guide, Pho Se, who I spent two days with and saw so much of Mandalay. He was a great guide and spoke good English. Thank you to all for making my stay so pleasant!!

Lovely staff and great facilities”
The staff at Triumph went above and beyond the call of duty, from organizing taxi rides to tagging along to the money changer to ensure I got a good rate. Restaurant staff were very friendly and helpful, ensuring our breakfast was suitable and food was prepared to our liking. The bicycles for rent are new and well-maintained. The swimming pool was dirty upon arrival, but soon cleaned up. I think the filter was broken. One negative would be the heat given off by the concrete road that passes through the buildings. Some more shade and/or less reflective material would lessen the harsh effects of the hot, midday sun upon exiting the room. Secondly, it seems this hotel is affiliated with the restaurant called "A Little Bit of Mandalay." If so, I would recommend this restaurant be more prominently advertised and for the hotel to offer a shuttle to this restaurant, as the food there is much better and of wider variety than that offered for lunch and dinner at Triumph.

Pleasant trip with good service”
We have a pleasant trip. We will stay again in Triumph if we visit Mandalay and we will recommend this hotel to the one who wants to visit Mandalay. Enjoy very much. After touring one hot day, swimming is the best thing to cool down and relax. The pool is clean.

best hotel in Myanmar ”
It was the best stay in all the places I had been to. Which includes : Yangon , Bagan , Mandalay, and Ngapali Beach. All around excellent experience , from the rooms to the staff. The pluses are, the pool the breakfast, the nightly entertainment during dinner, bike rental, and of course the staff and management, who are there to help in any way. Most of all this hotel should be re-named , resort . It is set up in every way just as well as any Western hotel or resorts . Everything is were you expect it to be. The rooms are large, the bathrooms are also. All the bells and whistles. I loved it and I travel a lot . This is the best review That I have ever given. That's how pleased I was. Every hotel in Myanmar needs to look at this as an example. And believe me they need every bit of help.

Amazing,loved it”
A little paradise in the middle of mandalay even though it s not in the center. mandalay is so spread out anyway. Got upgraded.the room is fully equipped,it s spacious, luminous and really clean. Could have thought I was the only one in that hotel as I had the swimming pool for myself the whole day! Beautiful swimming pool with the bar/ restaurant next to it. I normally though prefer to go eat outside. (Small detail as I was chilling at the pool whole day long ,but the calm gets a bit disturbed by the construction of the new building right next to the hotel) Highly recommended!

Dear Eline, Mingalabar! We do thank you for your valued comments. We are very sorry to hear that you get a bit disturbed by the construction of the new building. We stop that construction till February 2018. We would be happy to welcome you again as our guest any time soon. With best regards, The Management Triumph Hotel Mandalay
Fantastic Hotel, very affordable”
Had a fantastic stay at Triumph, was welcomed with a drink and my name on a board, upgraded for free to the deluxe suite, which was incredibly spacious and clean, and equipped to a high standard. Breakfast was outstanding with made to order eggs, the pool area and happy hour were great to unwind after a day in the great, and the staff were without exception incredibly welcoming and friendly. The price of the hotel is very reasonable. There weren't so many eating options in the immediate vicinity of the hotel, and the dinner menu did seem a tad on the expensive side (didn't eat there, just glanced at the menu), but that wasn't an issue for me, since it's quite easy and cheap to get a taxi in the city. I would strongly recommend Triumph.

Aussie Abroad”
This hotel is well suited for those who do not need to stay in the middle of Mandalay. The staff were very courteous and friendly and always wanted to chat and tell you about Mandalay. The only downside I had was that the menu was basic but they tell me it is being upgraded.Breakfast is the same every day, more variety required. I would definitely stay there again and recommend to anyone wanting great value for money. If you want to pay by credit card, they put on a surcharge and their card machine doesn't like to work, luckily they have an ATM there. If you are visiting as a family with kids, the pool is fantastic.

Home Away from Home”
I was a longterm guest while teaching at a local school. While living in any hotel for 3 months can grow tedious,my experience at the Triumph made me feel more at home than in my own country - the staff watched out for me,was always willing to go the extra mile for my comfort (i.e.. daily flowers in my room, free coctails at sunset by the infinity pool, evening housekeeping with turndown service with a smile),and put an emphasis on service to create a magical stay in Myanmar. The hotel itself is rather generic - the location is close-in but the grounds could be located anywhere tropical. The front office staff ws always willing to communicate as best they could to help arrange transportation or accomodate my needs. The managers bent over backwards to make me,as a solo female traveler, feel safe and comfortable. The breakfast buffet by the pool was more than adequate, with a smiling sous chef (I called him the "Egg Man") ready to cook up your eggs as you like. I really enjoyed mornings with all the Aungs - from the General Manager down to the wait staff...always smiling and ready to answer my questions, despite the language barrier. The only shortcoming I encountered was with the room location ; it was situated in the rear of the complex for privacy, next to the engineering/maintainance shack. There was always a steady flow of talking workers passing my cottage at the groundlevel windows, sometimes as early as 6 am. Looking back, ater traveling for 7 months, this was only a minor annoyance Finally,I really enjoyed the goodnatured staff and their willingness to celebrate Halloween by donning the masks I left on my veranda and Trick or Treating my room!

Best Place to stay in Mandalay”
- staff always friendly and helpful - clean big rooms (almost too big for two persons) - 15 minutest by taxi to Mandalay hill, all other sites are further away and take up to 40 minutest to arrive by taxi But that's no problem at all. Taxi drivers were always nice and offered fair prices (3-7$ / per trip) - people who're traveling Mandalay should stay here
