The Peninsula Hong Kong

"I would say this is a very nice five star hotel in Hong Kong. The hotel is located in Tsim Sha Tsui, which is a very good location for shopping, and surrounded with many nice restaurants. The hotel with long history in Hong Kong and operate for many years. The hotel environment is very closy and warm. The staffs are well trained and with good experienced. The room is very clean and the bed is very comfortable, especially the room with sea view is the best. And you must go the the Felix Bar for a drink, it with the gorgeous sea view in Hong Kong. And dine in Gaddi's you will never forget."

"Just opened recently in April 2011.The size of the hotel rooms are definitely bigger than any standard hotel rooms in Hong Kong. Furnishing are new. Rooms are comfortable. Staff are doing all their best to please. There are some minor hiccups during this period of soft launch. Upon check-in, front desk asked me what newspaper do I prefer. None for delivered for my entire stay here. Fire alarm went off twice during my stay causing panic within the hotel. The hotel is located in Tsim Sha Tsui but quite a long walk to the center of attraction in Tsim Sha Tsui. This hotel is nearer to Hung Hom area. "

The Ritz-Carlton, Hong Kong

"Stay was wonderful, not my first at this Ritz. Very high floor, great view. Tosca has gotten worse, but breakfast has gotten better. Fitness center and pool aren't bad, but could be better ala W Hotel and other open air pools. Great for both business and pleasure. Public transportation and shopping available, but Austin/Jordan isn't really centrally located, walkable to Tsim Sha Tsui. Agoda wasn't that nice to work with though."

In and around Tsim Sha Tsui

More about Tsim Sha Tsui

At the tip of the Kowloon Peninsula, Tsim Sha Tsui is one of Hong Kong’s major commercial districts. It served by Star Ferry and China Ferry terminals, both of which connect to Hong Kong Island. Next to the ferry terminals is the massive Harbor City shopping complex.

There are many hotels in Tsim Sha Tsui, and tourists based in the area divide their time between sprawling shopping centers and museums like the Hong Kong Museum of History, the Hong Kong Cultural Centre, the Museum of Art and the Space Museum. Attractions like these are in Kowloon Park along with aviaries, gardens and swimming pools.

Even historic sites in Tsim Sha Tsui have a commercial edge. The 1881 Heritage building once headquartered the marine police. Today, the Victorian structure is a museum, hotel and shopping center in one. There are just as many modern attractions on the peninsula, including the Hollywood-like Avenue of the Stars.

In the evening, tourists leave the shops and museums for late-night entertainment districts. Knutsford Terrace at the center of Tsim Sha Tsui has a great selection of affordable restaurants and bars that attracts expatriates and tourists.

Getting around Kowloon, and all of Hong Kong, is easy thanks to the MRT. The most important local exchange is Hung Hom MTR station, but there are many other stops serving hotels in Tsim Sha Tsui. Tsim Sha Tsui East is an important up-market hotels district served by its own MRT station.
