I traveled with my mother for a one-night stay on October 3, 2024. The people who welcomed us were very friendly and spoke English. They also greeted us with a few words in Korean, which made a great first impression! I was worried that staying in a capsule hotel with my mother might be uncomfortable, but she said the bed was more comfortable than any accommodation we've stayed at in Osaka, and she slept very well! The shower room had shampoo, conditioner, and body wash, and they provided personal toothbrushes and toothpaste! There were stacks of bath mats in the shower area, and they gave us one large towel and one small towel, so we had everything we needed. There was also space to put personal belongings, and even though it rained, we had a place to hang our clothes to dry! The bedding was amazing, and I fell asleep easily! The restroom was spacious, and the stalls were plenty, so we could use it without waiting. Each capsule has a personal safe, and there were various charging ports, making it convenient to use, and the inside was not cramped, allowing us to sit comfortably. There was a small space to place little bags near the head of the bed, which was large enough to fit a big shopping bag, making it convenient. The visit to Kiyomizu-dera took only 10 minutes, so we could perfectly enjoy taking photos at the photo zone and exploring Kiyomizu-dera before checking out in the morning. (You can enter Kiyomizu-dera from 6 a.m., which makes planning your itinerary great!) Even after checking out, there was a place to leave our bags, so it was a nice area to walk around. It's close to Kiyomizu-dera, there’s a bus stop nearby, and a convenience store is also close! It takes about 10 minutes to walk from the station, but it doesn't feel too far if you stop by Yasaka Shrine on the way! (I think there’s a light-up period at Yasaka Shrine.) The staff were very kind, and since it was a trip with my mother, I had a lot to think about, but thanks to them, we were able to relax comfortably for a day! This is my first time leaving a review for accommodation, and I'm thankful for the wonderful memories! I think I will use it again when I go to Kyoto next time!
By far the Best Hostel in the area, super nice and super clean, very comfy beds , very helpful and friendly staff members regardless of any requests, close to all tourist attractions and restaurants in Kyoto . No shoes policy makes the hostel a very, very clean place to stay, The hostel offers bath , face towels and grooming kit free charge, Laundry room in the roof top . The hostel has nice common areas and a roof top terrace which can be used to get people socialising maybe promoting hostel activities like in-house party for all guests . The hostel is also a cafe&bar open to the public which can be bit confusing sometimes but since all guests can get free Espresso Coffees the place is even more accommodating. kitchen with a cooking facility and a fridge with cold water dispenser is a nice addition for people with special dietaries. Over all, I highly recommend Tsukimi Hotel and would like to thank all staff members for the hard job they're doing in such a busy environment. Thank you All and see you next year ,
The staff is kind and the facilities are really great!! It seems much better than in the pictures, haha. The smoking area is a bit inconvenient and not great... but hey, at least there is one, right? Haha. There are a lot of foreigners, and it seems like they gather in the evening to chat and get to know each other. I'm quite shy and reserved, so I talked for just 5 minutes and then went back to my room, but it would be really nice for those who want to make friends to come here!!! Even just 5 minutes left a fun memory, haha.
Although not all the staff speak English, some are quite proficient and those who aren't do their best to communicate. When you ask them about Kyoto, they explain with great enthusiasm and provide restaurant and transportation recommendations. There is a paid public bicycle parking service conveniently located right in front of the hotel, making it easy to use and park while exploring. If you are coming from Kyoto Station for the first time, it might be difficult as you need to take a bus for a distance. However, given the price, being able to easily visit many tourist attractions like Gion Street, Ninenzaka, and Shinnenzaka both in the early morning and at night made my three-night stay in Kyoto very enjoyable. I really liked the facilities. They were larger than those in other capsule hotels and had a reasonable number of people per room. Considering that in Osaka, Nagoya, and Tokyo, at least 70 people are crammed into one room for the same price, this level of comfort was truly impressive. The safe deposit box was also very nice! The unlimited supply of ice packs was great. Since Kyoto is a small city and I enjoy walking, I often found myself exceeding ten thousand steps easily, and returning to my accommodation to do a hot/cold treatment with the ice pack was refreshing. Water is free! (You might think this is a given, but many capsule hotels require you to buy it.) In conclusion, I highly recommend this place!

“Great “Capsule” Hotel”
Not sure if this counts as a capsule hotel in the original sense of the word but I definitely booked it with that expectation. I stayed here 2 nights and I had a good time. Location was a little distance from the main train station (if you’re coming from Osaka), which is walkable. It is in the Gion district, and is just a few streets from the geiko and maiko area. Pontocho, which is a happening area, sits about midway between the hotel and the Hankyu Kyoto-Kawaramachi station. The hotel was very clean and the white, minimalist theme added to it. Staff was really friendly, and spoke great English, but if for some reason you missed their explanations, the rules of the hotel was also visibly pasted in many places. They will also send you instructions on your social media on check-in for some instructions, like how to enter after business hours. There is also a cafe that looked really good (saw customers here who didn’t stay in the hotel), but alas I did not have a chance to try. The dormitory itself was really good! There is an area with huge lockers (no need for padlocks, free) before you can enter the door to either the capsules or showers/toilets. A tip is to just keep all your toiletries and belongings in the area outside of the capsules. This way you don’t have to fumble and be noisy whenever you want to take a shower or whatever. For some reason I forgot to do that on my first night and it was not as comfortable. Within the capsule, there is plenty of space, I would say about 1.5 times that of a single bed. There’s lights, plugs, even a switch to turn on the ventilation and a small safe for valuables. The amenities were also neatly placed in a cloth tote bag which was a really nice touch. Bathrooms were spacious! Honestly, best capsule experience I could have asked for!
