i love it”
i love the tubtim resort very much. if i go to koh samet next time, i will still live in the resort again. i found a dog out of the resort swimming in the sea every a few minutes so i called it swimming- champion dog. what i love most is the beach in front of the resort and it is not so noise compared with others.
Look no further, Tubtim is your spot! ”
The staff are so kind & friendly. Serving up great food & vibes for a long weekend getaway. The bungalow was clean & functional. Not super luxurious but wasn’t expecting or wanting that when the best parts of the resort are not in the room. Visit & see for yourself.
Very nice location and with a white beach and crystal clear water!”
Everything is there; coffee bar on the beach, nice bar and restaurant on the beach, good food! Towels for the beach to borrow and beach chairs for 30 baht. There is also a nice deck in the sea for sun bathing. Accommodation is in the A zone not luxury but everything you need is there and it is clean. The newer cottages on the rocks overlooking the sea are nicer. We had a great time with our 2 children and we will definately come back!
Affordable and reliable”
Not my first time in an air con hut at Tub Tim. Basic but affordable for a hut that sometimes has a sea view. You'll be able to hear the sea as it is a peaceful place. Beach is great and not plagued by too many noisy speedboats arriving and departing but can feel chilly when the sun is blocked by the hill and trees at about 5pm. There's an excellent reef and a fun wooden platform you can swim to. Breakfast is pretty basic but lunches and dinners are good value, varied and tasty. Shame the volleyball net seems to have been dismantled, although it was always a tight squeeze on quite a small beach.
Simple, clean and unexperienced staff”
Nice location and clean and spacious enough bungalow. Restaurant staff struggles a lot during dinner time, service is slow and it takes a long time to get the bill. Reception staff is not very friendly.
Relaxing Island Holiday.”
We arrived at the island on the speedboat at 15.00hrs,250 thb each. Its not for people who have difficulty going up and down stairs. On arrival we had to carry our cases up the beach to the reception, believe me after a 20 hrs of travelling i wasn't happy, the reception couldn't care less. The we had to make our way up another 50 steps to the accommodation,The beach huts are very old so don't expect anything fancy's, we are out most of the time. The best thing about the resort is the beach area,We got a table and chairs free as long as you buy drinks from the bar,as well the staff reserved the table for our evening dinner. The restaurant food was excellent ,even people from other resorts along the beach coming to eat there .There are two beach waiter you want to look out for who will look after you, please remember to save some money to tip them at the end of your stay ( Not 20 thb )on average 500 thb up wards. We returned to the mainland bye speedboat and got a Mini taxi A/Port
Fantastic, as always”
We have stayed at Tub TIm many times over the last 20 years. Just returned and again, this place is great. The sea view rooms are amazing, most of the staff attentive and the location (we feel) is the best on the island. Bar closes at 10pm but easy walking distance to "party" areas if that's what you want. Breakfast is sufficient. Menu prices (western food) too expensive. Stick the the BBQ.
thank you to Tubtim and its amazing staff”
My wife and I spent almost a week at the Tubtim resort. We really enjoyed staying there, we have been treated very nicely. Perfect room size, cleaned on daily basis. Staff was very friendly, A special thank you goes to Uan for his great customer service! Food and drinks are the best of all the island. Highly recommended!
THE place to be”
This hotel is perfectly situated on the island. Quiet beach but not far at all from bars and restaurants. The Tubtim team is very nice and helpful. The beach is clean and large, the restaurant offers a large choice of meals and beverages.
Tubtim is a great option if you're looking for a quiet escape from Bangkok without too much travelling. Completely unpretentious, the rooms are comfortable and clean and the local food in the restaurant is outstanding. A 15-minute walk from the crowded main beach on Samed, the hotel is in a lovely quiet bay with very few tourists passing through. The only slight downside is a construction site on the beach to facilitate a nearby dam project. As long as there is no work ongoing (there was none during my 10-day stay) it is only a minor disappointment - the beach is still beautiful and secluded. There is also another stunning cove five minutes walk further south for those looking to escape the crowds completely.
Noisy party at the hotel”
There was a private party during my stay. We could hear the music as soon as we arrived(13.00) and it cotinued until mid night. The hotel should not have allowed the music after 10 pm. Other than that, everything was great.
Overall best choice in Samet, and I have been to many”
The location at the crook of a small beach makes it less crowded than Sai Gaew or Silver Sands, and you can hike over the rocks to a truly secluded beach even in high season. Also the food is very good here, with special southern Thai dishes rather than just the touristy "seafood barbecue". The balcony seaview rooms are less expensive than the overpriced "luxury" bungalows on Ao Phrao, but offer better sea views. Ice buckets in the restaurant are only 15 baht (many resorts charge 50) Tubtim Resort has been around since the 1990s and is still the best overall value on the island.
Loved this place”
Quiet beach area. Easy access to beach hop by walking, which gives you many options for dinner. Resort has different classes of accommodation. We stayed fan bungalow with hot water. Not far from beach. Fan was sufficient to keep cool at night. Hot water met needs. Bed comfortable. Plenty of drying spots for clothes and towels. Food was not that great from the restaurant, preferred to eat nearby. Breakfast is basic, but ok. Next beach along has a fantastic breakfast if you have a big appetite. I would stay here again due to comfort, closeness to nearby areas, and quietness of this beach.
Disappointing for the money”
Even no drinking water was available for the 1000 Baht room price.
Pictures on agoda is very beautiful, and it is the main reason we book this resort. However, it's a little bit disppointing. I supposed it is like some beautiful garden resort like those locate in Pai at Chiangmai. However, there's only wooden house with trees, no gardens here, though the wooden house is pretty cute.Too many mosquitos here! Apporximately 15min walk to the Hat Sai Kaew, and 10min walk to the entrance of the national park. Breakfast is nice. Restaurant is quite cheap.
Beach crazy good, accommodation average”
For youngsters very suitable - if you do not need to much of a comfort. The beach is the best at Koh Samet. It's not so crowded as the rest of the beaches (exception: Weekends). Food is fantastic and average good prices. However, it is not the cleanest. Houses offer nearly no comfort - at least the one of the normal category. Maybe there are more luxurious ones - should ask for them. Also: the garden needs care. And if you expect a lot of comfort: this is not your hotel... If you just stay 1-2 days: go for it. The beach is crazy good and they have a platform in the sea. If you swim 2 minutes you'll be on it and it is like a cradle... You can sleep on it 20 minutes after lunch... ;-)
Opt for the rooms right on the beqchfront”
We looked at garden rooms and then the beachfront rooms blew them away: stunning views of the sea and all the beach action, large balcony and very private. Food was good and it's right at the end of that part of the island: secluded but a nice walk to see some more beach life. Lovely massages. Our return booking by speedboat was " confirmed" on arrival but then this turned out to not be the case- the front desk staff didn't quite understand how annoying this was. Otherwise, heartily recommended.
It was great!”
Had a peaceful stay at Tubtim Resort with my friends. Friendly staffs, good breakfast....I still miss that rice porridge! peaceful and clean location, great rooms! I'd love to stay at the same resort if I visit Koh Samet again!
Comfortable bungalow located on a nice beach”
The beach is nice and quiet, and has an easy access from the pier. The restaurant of the resort is nice (better than many around). The hotel helped us organize a snorkeling excursion. Rooms are simple but comfortable. Our air-conditioning was broken and they offered us to change rooms. The main problem for us was that there were too many mosquitoes...
Location location ”
This was my first trip to Koh Samet and the island itself is definitely worth the visit. Tubtim is on a quiet little beach away from the noise of the beach with the loud bars but less than 5 minutes walk away giving you the best of both worlds. The hotel itself is cute but a little rough around the edges. If you are looking for 5 star luxury this isn’t it. If you’re after a quaint quiet little place to stay right on the beach you’ll be satisfied. My room had a view of the beach from the balcony which was lovely. The room did what it needed to do, but wasn’t somewhere you’d want to do much more than sleep and dump your things before hitting the beach. Air conditioning worked well, as did the wifi. Restaurant food was good and tasty but was a bit of a lucky dip, something completely different to what I ordered arrived at the table a couple of times. The staff were lovely and friendly. All in all I’d go back and stay there again.
