the worst hotel experience”
the day i check in , i was said its a 2 star property. but there is no such facilities for the star class, the beds, toilets, extra bed was very poor in standards, we were alloted a room , which is a section part of a three bhk cottage, very much less in space and no proper facilities, not even a kettle to make hot water, and no heater services too,it was more or less like a lodge ,the floors, cupboards, everything was of poor standards..i can even attach photos also,if required, no proper door latch also, they provided us with some poor local lock ,,i checked in at 3 pm and checkout at 8 pm itself..that much discomfort and i wont recommend to any friends or family, overall my money fully wasted..., that same night ,i moved with my family to other better hotel..,the room service person and front office people alone were good..i request agoda to take this concern and refund my cash..
Very good property in less price with pleasant staff and quick service”
Everything is very good there except restaurant which doesn't have much option for North Indian food as well as South Indian food quality was not great. Breakfast was not warm and they were not flexible to provide different thing in the breakfast.
We were group travellers of 5. We had complementary breakfast in our booking. They organised buffet breakfast but with very little variety. As it is a tourist place, people come from every part of the country. So they should not keep only south Indian dishes....with no other options. Also the food that we ordered for dinner is not that good.
Rooms were very neat. I opted for three rooms. It was a good hill viewpoint. However, restaurant was not up to the mark and had less food items. Hence, I chose to drive down the hill for food which is a tedious job. The resort is uphill and one needs to drive down the hill for any site seeing.
Rooms are pretty old and needs a big renovation and to be maintained properly. No storage space in cottage type rooms and cupboards provided were shabby and may fall at any time. Overall don't recommend if not renovated. Also staff attitude is like of u want stay or else check out. Very very low class bad customer service.
Service was not as expected”
Hotel buildings and cottages are nice. Facilities which we did not like: 1) TV was not working and it took 1.5 days to fix the issue. 2) room properties like jug, kettle, towels are very old and almost every thing broken. 3) next is breakfast, it's totally unworthy and pathetic 4) we gave the key to reception by 10.30am to clean the room, when we return ed by 4.30pm also rooms where not cleaned and we had to wait for half an hour outside with child. Receptionist is not responsible. When I complained that to GM, he said sometime that happens. So lathagically. He is a very stingy fellow. 5) roads to the hotel is very bad, those have vehicle can survive.
Break Fast ”
It's a very good place, Most of the guests are not aware of the small Gym and table tennis. Brake Fast items should be increased. you can add Cornflakes, Bread & cheese etc. without much additional cost. The face of the lady serving food was look like she is afraid we eat all,, LOL
Hotel with Beautiful Location”
Location of the hotel is the first point i need to mention. Its on top of the hill. We can see whole ooty from there. Has a beautiful view. Over and above at top of the hotel you can have candle light dinner with your love. Food is good. Rooms are spacious and wooden floored. Staff is good and helpful. Drivers also have dormitry.
Outstanding location at hilltop of Ooty.Customers get a fabulous view of Ooty town. Hotel Reception and staff is Staff cooperative and helpful.Restaurant is decent.Good cleanliness in Rooms.Enjoyed the cold weather and dense fog and drizzle in the morning.Overall enjoyable experience at Tulips.A big thumps up for any future customer who wants to book here
Worst experience - don't get fooled by the pics”
1) The hotel doesn't look even a 10% similar to the photo shared. Its a deceiving and misleading advertisement. 2) Door knobs in the bathroom don't close and it was dirty all over the walls from the ceiling to the room walls 3) They say heater in Ooty with 9 degree Celsius is a luxury and they charge you Rs 350 if you just use it in the night and rs 500 if you use it in the morning. And if you take a deluxe room, they recommend you to use the heater in one room for 2 hrs and then take it to another room for the rest of the night. Not sure if someone feels cold in the night, they should come knocking I think. 4) I tried to talk with the GM yeah the general manager of the place, and he said please write this in the review so all our customers will be aware of this. In a place like Chennai heater is a luxury not in Ooty. 5) Food did taste good but very fewer options. It's definitely the cheapest hotel you find around Ooty but trust me you can book a lodge or a small room in a proper ho
Bad attitude from management/lacking in cleanliness - flies all around, dirty floors and linen.”
The rooms are not cleaned well, floors are dusty, bed linen seems to have been used by previous guests, towels are not clean. The breakfast isn't good (example: dosa on 1st day was sour - made from old batter perhaps, aloo paratha served the second day was dry/not stuffed well). which is strange because ordering food served in restaurant is good. The property is located atop a hill and has a beautiful view of the city in the valley. I would rate this stay at 50% satisfaction with the location compensating for the other negatives.
The 3 bed room is really nice for a family gettogether”
Little old structure.. but amazing view and location.. just dont follow google maps to reach there..
Excellent services by the staff !!”
We were a Gang of 3 girls. Firstly worried if the place would be safe or not , But we had an amazing experience !! THE STAFF WAS VERY WARM AND HOSPITABLE, KUDOOS TO THE SERVICES RENDERED BY MR. kAMAL DAS GUPTA AND THEHOUSEKEEPING GUY HARIJI MR DASGUPTA MADE SURE OUR DAILY BREAKFAST WAS VERY NICE AND WE WERE MORE THEN SATIESFIED The view of the resort is just amazing !! 1000 percent recommended for family and solo travellers as well as couples
Tulips Elkhill Resorts. Perfect Stay in OOTY!”
The resort is situated over the slope, giving an awesome scenic view.. You have this view irrespective of floors and room. Not so common, we get good food in the hotels we stay. I found this resort an exception, the food was delicious, even complimentary breakfast had quite a good varieties. I definitely recommend this place and its value for money. Of the staff, I have to specially mention about the extraordinary hospitality shown by Mr Raghu.
Under staffed ”
Location is good. Facilities satisfactory for the cost. But beware of extras trickery. If you are alloted a room at the bottom - may need to walk up all the way to reception -as phones are not attended at most times. Power generator capacity not sufficient during power outs -geysers/heaters may not work at such times. Something to consider during cold season. Staff inadequate to handle when fully occupied.
Nic place to stay on the highest point to view the entire place”
The rooms need a ramp up as they appear very old. The bathrooms n toilets need new fittings as really hard to take a shower as water trickles. The staff have been amazing especially Raghu who was helping the moment we got there.
Nice location, but you need to have your own vehicle.”
Stayed for one night. Had a good stay. Property is 2 kilometres from the bus stand. You need to have your own vehicle otherwise it's very difficult. The view from the hotel was awesome. Food is good and priced normally. Value for money what we paid.
Nice place to enjoy, but need to improve the facilities, as some of the facilities are mentioned in the advertisements but in realty that was found disturbed”
the kind of food supplied/provided as break-fast was quite unsuitable for the travelling kind-of-a-people, especially for the kids...people who requires break-fast like idly or any other options with steam-cooked items...we faced quite a lot issues with the break-fast especially with kids in the return-back...
1. Breakfast spread is not worth the money though breakfast is not included in my booking. 2. Room heaters should not be charged to customer. People expect room heaters will be provided in room without any charge in cold places like Ooty during winter season. Unfortunately, they are charged. 3. View from hotel is good. 4. Staff is helpful
Very Indian hotel, with fabulous views and located above Ooty with nice local walks. Food was delicious and well priced. Staff were friendly and helpful and restaurant staff went out of their way to ensure our enjoyment of the food. The room was huge and the decor tired and there was little natural light. There was a kettle and water but no tea or coffee. The cleaning left a lot to be desired. The staff came quickly when requested and cleaned to a better standard but I think they need more enthusiasm and training.
