A fine urban hotel!”

Costs of hotels go up, and room sizes go down, in proportion to the distance from a city center. Twenty One Hotel is a GREAT location, just a few minutes walk from the Vatican Museum and St Peter's, in one direction, and the Piazza del Popolo in the other. We did take a cab to the Trevi Fountain, but walked back in the cool of the evening. Many fine restaurants and two WONDERFUL gelato sources are quite nearby.

Hotel Twenty one is close to Vatican City ”

Good location, near dining ateas, near MRT, near vatican

Our stay in Hotel Twenty One where we stayed for 5 days was a nice experience since accommodated most of the wedding entourage that we were part of. It was close to vatican city and other historical sites in Rome, Italy. The hotel served a heavey breakfast every day. Shopping around the area which is located in a main street calledcola de rienza was very chic and had good fashion items.

Great location, smaller (and dark) room”

Location, cleanliness, up to date style

we stayed at three hotels on this visit to rome. this was the least expensive room, so it may be unfair to compare it to the other two. the location was great, the staff was friendly and helpful, the hotel decor was modern and clean. we were not particularly impressed by the breakfast, but it was adequate. the biggest complaints were the darkness of the room, the size of the room and the quality of the internet access via wifi. the black modern interior design of the room swallowed up all of the light and made it hard to see (at least for folks our age) in the room. the room was fairly small, but we paid just over $200 and it was probably a competitive price for a room in rome of that size. our other rooms were closer to $300 and bigger/nicer, but again it was less expensive. lots of clothing stores and clothing street vendors near the hotel for those who want to shop. also very convenient to the vatican and spanish steps, etc.

Modern, clean rooms on the other side of Rome”

Clean and spacious room close to many attractions across the river

The hotel is newly renovated therefore the rooms are very clean and modern. Room is spacious considering space is a premium in Rome and many other hotels, old or new, have much smaller rooms. Location is convenient within walking distance to Piazza del Popolo, a 10-minutes walk across the river Fiume, and you will also reach the shopping street of Via del Corso. It is a 5-minutes drive to the Vatican City or you can take a leisurely 20-minutes walk down the straight road. There are also many shops along the road where the hotel is and across the road from the hotel there are also shops and café.

Very good”

The hotel was very pleasant to stay in. The staff spoke fluent English and were helpful and friendly. The room was a bit bit small so it didn't have a great deal of room for our suitcases but it was clean, tidy and had all the amenities you could need. It is about 30 mins walk to all the main sights such as the colosseum and Vatican City. It's not the most central hotel but there's shops and restaurants within a short walking distance and it's a nice quiet area to stay. Breakfast was included in the booking and a good buffet was provided. When checking out, I had to pay approx €36 extra for city tax which was unexpected. I was told this was separate to my booking that I had already paid for. Other than that, I would recommend this place!

Comfortable room, just stone's throw from Vatican!”

Comfortable and big room, close access to shopping spots, attentive staff

Room was bigger than most typical European hotels, which was a pleasant surprise. Design of the room was sleek and pleasing; Wifi was strong and consistent, which was a huge bonus! Location is slightly further from the main sites (e.g. Trevi Fountain, Pantheon and Piazza Navona) but Rome is easily walkable, especially in winter, where weather was pleasant and not overly cold! Hotel staff was also attentive and readily agreed to our request for a late checkout at no additional cost. Overall, I highly recommend this hotel!

Rooms were clean and modern. Wifi availability

We stayed one night just before boarding our cruise. We chose the hotel for the prolixity to the Vatican City as we had booked an afternoon tour there. We arrived early and was given a room before noon. The room had a great view and we could even see the Vatican City from our balcony. Definitely recommended for folks visiting the Vatican City.

Very good at the basics...”

Location, Design, Staff

The hotel is centrally located, with many tourist spots within walking distance. The hotel is very nicely presented, and is reasonably priced for it's location. The restaurant and room service menus are incredible. We were disappointed by a few things though: 1) Even though we'd specified on the booking that we were a couple and the hotel seems to market itself towards couples, our double room consisted of two single beds pushed together. When we asked at reception if it was possible to change these for a single large mattress, we were told that the hotel doesn't possess any double mattresses, and their solution was to stuff extra blankets between the two beds. We spent the entire weekend unable to get a good night's sleep, and suffering from back pain. 2) Whilst the wifi works fast and reliably in the reception/lobby and restaurant, it was virtually impossible to collect so much as an email from the room, even though all our devices showed a full signal. We ended up having to resort to data roaming on our phones, which obviously incurred additional cost.

Nice quiet yet convenient location! Hospitable staff
Tiny room, lousy internet service

Stayed at Boscolo Excedra at Piazza Republica for 2 nights then switched to Twentyone Hotel. Half the cost so I can tolerate it. Nice and quiet location, about 10 min walk to Lepanto metro station so it's quite convenient. 15-20 min walk to Castel Sant Angelo, Vatican or even Piazza Popolo. Lots of restaurants near the hotel. Really tiny room, no bigger than the photos on web. Tight bathroom with only shower and it has the narrowest shower door I've seen. I have to squeeze sideway to get in. It has the worst "Free" internet service I experienced. No wifi but only LAN. I have request for new username and password every 2 hours and it even stopped working for 1 day.

Nice staff, good location, modern room

The room is small (at least much smaller than what seems to be from the photos), but with modern design. The room I was given is facing an enclosed triangle (like a well), not really good for ventilation. The aircon can only be turned on for at most 30 mins (has a timer), and will be inconvenient when the weather is cold or hot. The location is good, close to major attractions either by foot or by bus (81? or 82? right next to the hotel and goes to major attractions). The staff are very friendily and helpful. The breakfast is good. The internet is free but slow and unstable at times.

chose this hotel because of its great location and value-for-money. it's within a walking distance of the vatican and has a metro station near by. we had 2 rooms, one with an extra bed. adding the extra bed made the room almost cramped. staff was unhelpful at check-in (did not get our request for 2 adjacent rooms and blamed "reservations" for the error. improved later and was helpful both with our questions and requests.

The staff, food and location are excellent. We stayed at the hotel with friends. We had a room that was very small, the widow over the dressing table was small and there was no light near the wardrobe so it was impossible to see anything in there. Our friends, in the room next door, had a floor to ceiling widow at the dressing table and much more room. We looked in other rooms whilst they were being cleaned and it was obviously we had the smallest room in the hotel. A biiger room and the hotel would have been great
