Best hospitality ever”

We had a wonderful time at Tynwald, The house is beautiful but only surpassed by the most welcoming owners Pat and Garry. This was the most special place for us in Tasmania and we travelled for 9 days between Launceston, Strahan and Hobart. Idyllic location ”

A destination in itself, this is indeed a very special place to stay. The stunningly beautifully mansion is set amongst a peaceful backdrop of willows, poplars, oaks and gums that roll gently towards the river. The rooms are beautifully and comfortably appointed in grand Victorian style. The owners, Pat and Gary, will make you feel very welcome! I was traveling solo and found their company to be warm and delightful, yet unobtrusive. Did I mention they are also gourmet chefs? Highly recommended!!

The good & bad of each era”

The most difficult place to rate as it is quite unique. More like "Night at the Museum" than a relaxing escape. The owners obviously work very hard but under different relaxed management it could be a better, desirable destination. We chose it to escape the usual predictable 5 star, which we stayed at the next night. Our conclusion is that good showers, comfortable beds & staff who don't judge your lifestyle choices (veg & anti Trump) of 5* must be the most fundamental starting point for all accommodation. Hopefully the lovely Tynwald will one day also offer the same. Some may enjoy staying with their grand parents but I would prefer to keep the best of the old while embracing the more functional ever evolving new.

Tynwald Willow Bend New Norfolk”

The hotel is overrated currently, while a beautiful house, with beautiful period furniture and fittings, the appearance of stuff animals and dry flowers with a dominance smell of dust was a bit of off-putting. The bed was comfortable, but the noise from the house cat wanting to access our room during the night was not appreciated. Also while wanting to experience the district due to a public holiday nothing was open for meals.

Lovely old home with a lot of history. Only thing wrong was that Agoda didn’t mention when you book a room that it has a shared separate bathroom.

Absolutely amazing, I didn't want to go somewhere else at night but being there and enjoy if the fabulous dinner and service

Beautifully decorated”

Enjoyed our stay, lovely location very picturesque historic house. Nice breakfast, real coffee. Slept well. Beautiful garden. Would stay again.

Bathroom and toilet were on a different floor. Everything inside was old and not practical. But the view from balcony was amazing.

Acceptable”

Room was quaint, clean and comfy. Unfortunately it didn't have even a small table which made having a hot drink difficult. Fridge not plugged in and required an extension cord to reach the powerpoint. The extension card was dangerous, exposed wires on both ends and even copper showing in one part. It gave my husband a shock when he plugged it in. Coffee was hard in jar and when we asked for some more, we were only offered enough for one cup each.

A wonderful treat for this couple”

A wonderful heritage B&B with an interesting history and a great couple who went that extra mile to sure our stay, our dinner and our brekkie was exceptional. Thank you Pat and Gary.

Good resturant with quality food ”

We have stayed there for two nights . We really enjoy dining in the restaurant! Gary is such good chef! Highly recommended
