Where to stay in Ubud
Ubud hotels & accommodations

There is a beautiful walk which takes you through the rice fields and into the Ubud centre within 30 mins. The hotel operate free coaches also to take you to and from Ubud centre at set times which is very handy. The hotel is beautiful, by far the best hotel in Ubud. Gym needs to be upgraded, currently it's called a gym but has nothing... It could be improved with so...

Staying in Kamandalu was impressive, even though, there are a number of awesome hotels in ubud. regular shuttle bus to downtown was convenient, and yoga class was really relaxing time with nature surrounding. especially, thank you for smooth, professional staffs who provided my family with transportation and arrangement to ubud clinic. I hope to stay kamandalu ubud...

We booked a 2 night stay at Visesa, and 3 nights at another hotel in Ubud. Our only regret was not booking all 5 nights at Visesa. The room was stunning and large, bed very comfortable, and breakfast was delicious. Restaurant is a bit expensive for Bali but you get a great fine dining experience for a low price (by western standards). It is a bit far from the town ce...

This is one of the best hotel/villa I have stay in my 10 years travelling. The design of the villa represent the unique of Balinese culture. I book a villa with private pool and the room is spacious and authentic design. The hygiene is perfect and need to praise to the villa staff too, as very friendly, polite and helpful which represent the beauty of Balinese. I enjoy...

What a fabulous place in the heart of Ubud! Kajane Mua Villas exceeded my expectations. While the property does lend itself to an amazing experience for honeymooners, as a solo traveler I felt the staff created and awesome experience for me. So short story, here is the good: Staff =amazing. Super friendly and go above and beyond to accommodate so you are extremely comf...

There is no word to describe how this hotel is perfect. Five star services from the minute you step out of the car your until your departure. All staff number was very attentive from morning to evening. We all know that there’s lots of hotel in ubud , but for me and my family, were are definitely coming back to bisma eight, there’s no doubt about it. The morning break...

I have to say by far this is our favorite stay in Bali. We got the villa with the pool, enjoyed the morning swim along with tasty breakfast. The staff is just awesome and helpful with everything, our special greetings to Tina. The villa location is good for several activities in Ubud such as rafting, mount batur trekkig, swing up, coffee plantation and rice fields cycl...

I have been so many times to Bali and Ubud, but I am truly amazed. This from far my best stay in Ubud. I truly felt in holidays. The hotel has a lot of charm in the middle of the nature and bordering a river, it is a Mix of Jungle Resort and Spa and Hanging Garden. But the owner paid attention to the details to build not only a hotel but carved the history and mytholog...

The hotel had only been open about two months so it was beautifully clean and new. The room was perfect - everything worked and was clean and it had a nice rice field view. The room may have been small for two people with big suitcases, though it was fine for me. The best part is the rooftop pool which overlooks all of Ubud and surrounds. Great place to watch the sunse...

Puri ganga resort gave me good memory of Ubud trip. I feel that I want to come again for Ubud trip. If anybody goes Ubud, I will recommend this resort. - Staff are very friendly and helpful. Me and my partner were so amazed with kind staff. They are always smiling and try to give us best service. - Food is good. I can't say best, but not bad. Many people are having...

We loved this property! Location: For me, this location was ideal. Situated amongst shops, galleries, restaurants and tourist attractions, everything was easily accessible. Ubud Village is just down the street from Monkey Sanctuary and a short walk from some beautiful scenery. The Ubud Palace (with nightly Balinese dance shows) and arts market are also minutes away. T...

Warwick Ibah has gorgeous grounds with charming aged stone buildings set in the trees and lush of Ubud. It is just minutes from Ubud centre and is easily the most luxurious hotel in central Ubud. Unlike down south in Bukit, the value for money of hotels in Ubud appears to be great. I'm sure the Hanging Gardens and the Chedi Club, for example, are both great but they...

My wife and I didn't quite know what to expect from Tejaprana Resort and Spa due to the limited number of reviews but, once we arrived (April 2016), we were pleasantly surprised. Upon arrival we were greeted by Wodi, the concierge, who gave us a quick tour of the resort while, the doorman tended to our luggage. The tour of the facility concluded in our villa (107) sit...

With such a good range of quality hotels in Ubud finding Alaya was a bit of a coincidence - and therefore a very positive surprise. We were mostly impressed by the overall consistent and good quality throughout our stay. Everything was well implemented: overall service, room, breakfast, hotel public areas, room amenities and furnishing - stony bathtub in the middle of ...

Stayed at the Ayung Resort for 2 nights to experience the traditional cultures of Ubud. The resort however, is approx 20 mins outside of Ubud centre, next to the Ayung River in a deep jungle valley. The setting is spectacular, but a little isolated, and taxi's are needed to get into Ubud . However, if you want to retreat from the world, you will love it here. The hote...

I am not one that usually gets around to writing a review but I just had to on this occasion. This hotel is a gem yet to be discovered. It could rival the very top end hotels in ubud but what makes this hotel it that its run and owned by locals. For me this added to a unique and memorable experience which we will never forget. The setting and accommodation was fantasti...

We stayed at Waka Di Ume hotel in Ubud for our 2àth Marriage Anniversary. The hotel is absolutely great, located in the middle of rice fields, where you can walk and meet with "real people from the real life". Rooms are large, and made up twice a day. The staff is very serviceable, helpful, and meorize your name right from your first day there. Not noisy at all, as 2 o...

Be prepared to back in nature, fill up your lungs with puriest and freahest air. Located at north of Ubud, about 1 hours from Ubud center. Definately suitable for those who looking for quiet and serene neighbourhood. We were got upgrade room. Big thanks to Nandini Team. From chalet villa upgrade to sunrise view villa. Got to woke up at 5.30 to see the sunrise, but at...

We stayed in a Pool Villa overlooking the river. Maya truly earns its 5 Star rating. from the moment we arrived, we are greeted by a lushful greeneries, all eyes can see, is green. the weather is cool, especially in late afternoon throughout til morning. Morning mist can be seen along with the morning dew. all staffs are very attentive and helpful, my wife enjoyed ...

This was by far my favourite property in Bali! The staff went out of their way to make my stay special. There is a complimentary shuttle into the center of Ubud which is so convenient. The breakfast spread was delicious, a mix of local and Western. Pool is a good size. I actually cancelled other accommodation at a 2nd hotel in Ubud to stay an extra week here it was t...

This was an impromptu solo trip. I have been to the other parts of Bali i.e. Menjangan, Lovina, Tulamben, Amed, Seminyak & Kuta but I decided to make a trip to UBUD this time & totally felt in love with it. I have always wanted to stay in a villa setting and Bayad Ubud Villa fits my budget & my idea of a perfect serene cosy setting. The sound of a rooster crowing in...

We recently stayed in Bidadari Private Villas with our 2 kids (9 yrs & 12 yrs) and had a wonderful time. Although we had booked the 2 bedroom villa, there had apparently been a glitch with the booking, and we were lucky enough to be upgraded to the 4 bedroom villa. This was spectacular and the kids were thrilled as they were able to have their very own bedrooms. Most ...

Grounds and Amenities: The grounds of Kajane Yangloni are by far the most beautiful of all of the hotels that I have visited. If you love the feeling of nature, this is it. Beautiful plants, streams with cool fish, rice field, wooden sculptures, architecture, yoga studio, gym, salon, spa, restaurant, shuttle, etc. I can't give enough kudos to all this hotel has to offe...

This was my home away from home!! I loved everything about this hotel. I stayed here three times on my trip to Bali, twice by myself and once with a friend. Firstly the staff were so friendly and helpful and welcoming. They made me feel very at home. Iyu was one of the girls on reception and she was fantastic. The location of this hotel was perfect for me as I wanted t...

The room was small, but cosy, having said that, they have superb facilities. The private pool is simply divine; great for both midday or midnight swims alike. The hotel is brand new; it had only been operational for one week prior to my stay there. The staff were friendly, they made me feel welcomed. I also got upgraded to a Royal Villa (even though I was traveling a...
Cheap places to stay in Ubud

everything about my staying was perfect. The room is so good, due the bunkers are separated from each other by a wood wall, that you can close, as the pics show. you sleep with your head near the wall, what I think cooperates for quietness over night - the dorm is very quiet, I slept very well in this hostel. you can use the kitchen to cook, the freezer to storage your...

It's really worth my money staying 3 nights here. Location is quite far from the centre of (Ubud Market), but I enjoy the morning walk which took about 20-30 minutes. Night time night be the tricky part, try to reach back to the hotel before dark or just bring along a torch light with you. Will consider to come back and stay here again.

There's one dorm of 12 beds, very well seperated with curtains which is great for privacy. But there's only one bathroom for all those people and sometimes the shower didn't even work for our stay. The AC also partially works, be sure to sleep near the AC because otherwise it's very hot during night. It's well located but in front if the busiest street of Ubud so it 's...

The best price I have found in Ubud (Agoda and competitors). Very cheap with simple breakfast included, wifi and water/coffee/tea available. I would rate the staff more than excellent if I could as they are very friendly and helpful. The place has a good atmosphere, I extended my stay without hesitation and don't understand the overall note of "above average 5,5" this ...

The location of the hostel is great,it's just with 2 minutes' walking to the city center-Ubud Market,a few of minutes' walking to others such as nice pub, western restaurant and monkey forest. They also have some tourist information about hiking, one day package tour...Anyway,it's a cheap place to stay in Ubed, but so sweet accommodation.

the room was so huge! if want to have the best morning views of Ubud, book this hostel! the top balcony has nice view of Ubud since this is the tallest homestay that I know. It is also close to Puri Agung and Puri Dalem. The offer taxi service and it is the best priced taxi service you can get. cheaper than anyone in Ubud. The staff and the owners are also very accommo...

Been staying here for several time previously, and it’s still the same. Centrally located, but away from the crowd. Cleanliness is maintained well. A few minutes walk to the covenience store down the road. Their banana pancake for breakfast is the best and fluffiest i’ve ever had. Need to change my duration of stay at the very last minute, but the owner (Ms. Desi) is v...

Big bathroom and bedroom which was nice. Good wifi. Free breakfast was ok but nothing special. Very clean. It's about a 5 minute walk down to ubud main road which was great but it was a little unnerving at night as the street isn't really lit. Owners are very lovely and helped with ideas for what to do in Ubud and arranging onward journey. Overall would recommend - on...

My partner and I decided to stay in Ubud for 4 days and we stayed at Tri Hita Karana Guesthouse ! It was perfect ! Pretty close to the center of Ubud and the Monkey forest (less than 10 minutes with a scooter). The staff was incredibly nice and thoughtful. We had booked a transport with them to the airport early morning 6am. The manager of the guesthouse woke up just t...

I staid in the dormitory and i really enjoyed my stay in this hotel. it s for sure due to the very friendly and helpfull staff. The terrasse attached at the dormitory is very nice and with your room mates, you would probably chill out there for longer that you expected. The other good point of this place is the bar/restaurant downstair. It s not a proper restaurant but...

We were completely mislead by Agoda, we booked the villa as it was advertised as private, however when we got there, there was 4 other young backpackers sitting on the sofas, one of them walking around in their underwear!! The room was okay, we were put on the top floor, where the room type said pool view... and there was no toilet roll or towels in the room. The only ...

This place was phenomenal. It's just far enough away from the hustle and bustle of the main set of streets in Ubud that you don't have to worry about too much noise, and the rooftop is one of the absolute best spots to catch a sunset in the area. There's a small kitchenette with which you can make your own food, should that be something you're into. The beds can be a l...

Lagas hostel is the best hostel I stayed in. Its so cheap but this doesn’t mean cheap quality believe me. Everything is clean. The food is great. The beds are comfy. Its a short walk into Ubud. Theres a really nice swimming pool. Free tea, coffee, water and breakfast. Theres plenty of places to socialise, downstairs and on the balcony upstairs. The staff are really fri...

If you search a call and peace place to stay in Ubud this is the place ! People are so nice and welcoming ! Everything is clean and you have a fridge and also a stove to cook if you want. The breakfast is perfect too. Thank to all the team for our wonderful stay ! Hope I come back one day !

I didn't have much expectation because it was so cheap but really it is great, the capsule beds are very cosy and the blankets are New soft ones so I slept well. The sink is in the room and the toilet are shower are behind a slide door but once you get over that it is in the best location if you just want to walk around Ubud. The family are very nice and breakfast is b...
stayed here in the low season when no one was here but the property is great. a bit outside of Ubud so it's more relaxed but only a 15 minute walk to downtown. nice pool, rooms are big and clean, everything looked new, showers with a divider! perfect hostel in a lot of ways

We have been traveling for 2 months in Asia and this guesthouse was the best one we have ever stayed in! First impression:the entrance to the hotel is like to temple. We were invited by very friendly host. We got renovated double fan room. It was so clean and cozy, we spent there 5 nights and we could even more. Eavh room has its own terrace with free coffee and tea av...

The staff are lovely so it's hard to write but the hostel is awful, it's like no one cares if anyone stays. The bed sheets have not been changed in so long there are cobwebs on the top bunks across the bed where someone has left it unmade. The pillows are mouldy, sheets dirty with stains and hair, the blanket is very old. The bathroom again full of webs and so old and ...

Unless you are looking for hotel comforts , then you can'really go wrong with this lovely homestay. About 200 metres from Ubud Palace and with a string of lovely eateries in the lane that leads you to the homestay. The value is superb as is eating out at the warungs nearby. Price included a choice of breakfasts. Ubud is a lovely place as is this homestay. Thank you f...

This was definitely the best hostel on my hole one-month-journey! If you like it simple and authentic this is the perfect place for you to stay in Ubud! It’s just a few minutes walk away from the main center. Dewa and Wayan are so nice hosts, really lovely! They brought my laundry to the laundry service because I had to leave early in the morning for a tour when it wa...

The location is directly next door to Perama shuttle bus to and from kuta, Ubud, Lovina. We rented a motorbike from the property and it was in good shape and priced well. The room was comfortable and peaceful and we really enjoyed breakfast each day!

We had a pleasant stay. Further away from the busy part of town and still walking distance to the main attractions of Ubud. The owners let us check in early and been very helpful. The only thing that was not great was the smell in the bathroom (I guess because of bad ventilation) but the place was good for a short stay.

It’s a sanctuary. We have our much needed rest in this homestay. Staffs are very nice and accommodating. It’s 5 min walk to Ubud Market. We love the location, the breakfast, the silence around the place. For those who are looking for a place to stay in Ubud w/ value for money, it’s a must try!

An Excellent Hostel. located near to the central Ubud. very clean, comfortable & Hygienic. The open shower concept will melt your heart and you might end up taking 4times shower in a day. Upon arrival, Jerry, The warden of the hostel will give you a warm welcome. He makes your trip more interesting with his advices & tips about the city ,supermarket ,shops, re...

I had a challenging time locating the hostel since I just walked from Puri Lukisan (rode Kura-Kura). But the good part is the quiet neighborhood around the area. I would recommend to other travelers to look for Peliatan street or stop at the first road junction (left side when going to Puri Lukisan) from the big statue. The swimming pool is tempting. They also had a mo...

When I first saw the lobby, it was traditionally old looking (but this is similar to most luxury hotels in Ubud). I was expecting an equally old bedroom with an old, tired looking bathroom. The bedroom was surprisingly new and well renovated. What was also interesting is that each bedroom is actually a miniature villa perched on a hill overlooking greenery. I'm typ...

I and my partner truly love our stay in Bagus Jati, a villa I had tried to book for 2 years. Bagus Jati was beyond our expectation. It is situated in a beautiful landscape of Tegalalang, 30 minutes from Ubud. The villas are spread all over its spacious land with our villa facing the stoney hills with green trees and birds singing lullabies all the time. We love: - I...

It deserves 7 star rating. Just staying at this place is worth all the effort and money spent on coming to Bali. Your room is actually a standalone villa. Completely private, serene. Your personal large swimming pool with sun loungers and clean towels. Sculptures and stone artefacts all around the villa and inside the room. Old world charm combined with modern amenitie...

Because The Anumana Ubud Hotel still new, opening in Mei 2015 so it's inevitable that there's still a sound for finishing, but it’s not to bother for me. Overall I like to stay at The Anumana Ubud Hotel, it’s so relaxing, clean, comfortable and amazing so I would like to go back again. Note: This review is for their sister hotel, The Black Penny Villa (BP) I was booked in to stay at the Ubud Padi Villas, but the air-conditioning in the room broke down. They pulled in some favours from their sister hotel (which was not opened to public yet) to allow me to stay there for one night, while they fix that. And dare I say, I am so grateful to the quick-thi...

What a peaceful boutique hotel with a lovely garden and fantastic staff. Highly recommended! Stunning deco, very very tasteful rooms and Extremely clean and best breakfast ever tried! My partner and I stayed at the private villa for 3 nights in January. The room was nice, spacious and clean, however it could have done with a bit more privacy... I think I inadvertently flashed a villager working in the rice fields next door! I've been to more luxurious private villas, but this is advertised as a 4 star stay and I think it is excellent when considerin...

Would stay here again: Cost: ~$45 CAD/night -- definitely worth it :) Great service (check in and check out, restaurant staff, owner came to ask us if we had any concerns) I found the people to be happy and generally very caring/respectful of the guests -- great representation of the hotel and Balinese people Beautiful new hotel Location: not right into central ubud bu...

Me and my wife stayed here on the last leg of our trip around Bali and we couldn't have chosen a better hotel to end our holiday. We were greeted at reception by two members of staff, who took our bags and proceeded to shows us around the entire hotel and the different facilities. From there, every single member of staff could not do enough for us. Always greeting ...

Had a nice stay in this hotel in Ubud. The hotel is fairly new and facilities are well maintained. The staff are very friendly and attentive here. The only small downside is that you need to walk ten mins to get to Ubud market if you want to find any restaurant or bars. Although I had a bike which I rented from right opposite the hotel, so it wasn't much of a problem f...

We had a very great time spending in Luwak Ubud Villas just last week. The hotel is very new with spacious room near by the Ubud center. The staffs there are also very helpful during our stay. It was not a high peak season and therefore the swimming pool was only used by us. I think the villa set up is pretty well if you are going with a group of friends and family. Mu...

This place was a beautiful home away from home. All the staff were incredibly kind and could not do enough for you. The Rooms are very clean and beautifully designed. Food: Good quality but limited varieties (American, "Healthy", Indonesian set etc.) Hotel condition: Extremely well-maintained, attractive and pretty new as stated. Staying at Gajah Biru isn't like staying at your typical hotel. The silly formalities and being spoken to like a robot do not exist here. From the moment you arrive, you are part of a family. You will notice that the staffs are helpful, informative and very nice! Every single of them from the manager, front desk, restaurant, house keeping, spa etc every one is willing to help and will make sure to deliver you the best service! The hotel is a bit hard to find. About 20 min from Ubud centre, but with a little help from the locals and a good map reading this is not a big problem. Breakfast could be...

Very cosy, stylish and friendly hotel located between rice paddies and a ravine with water falls. Unique! The fresh water infinity pool is just as good as it looks on the pictures, not very large but definitely large enough and with very comfy sun chairs to rest in the shadow after or before touring the great Ubud surroundings. The whole hotel is very nicely designed ...
