The location of the hostel is very accessible to public transportation and UENO shopping area is just around the corner. You can never be hungry because there are lots of restaurants, convenient store and street foods sorrounding the establishment. The staffs are accomodating and ready to help.

Capsule hotel that provide locker big enough for 22" luggage and outlet in capsule. It will be one of my choice in next Japan visit. But a bit of Cigarette smell in living room. and you can not avoid it is on the way to capsule floor. Recommend unless you are allergic to cigarette smell.

Couldn't ask for better.”

You couldn't ask for better from a very cheap and convenient capsule hotel. It was just a short walk from Ueno station and the staff were very nice - they even escorted me to my capsule! Just be aware that there is another capsule hotel very close by called "Capsule & Sauna Century" (not "New Century"). I walked into the wrong place at first!

Definitely more than your money's worth”

Very memorable. By chance, I got a carbuncle in Tokyo and although I put a plaster, it could not be helped that there was always blood in my bedsheet every day. I felt the concern of the staff in my condition which I could not express because I am not good in Japanese.

Great location, friendly staff but smoking is con ”

Everything is great. Staff are super friendly and helpful. The place is also clean and value for money. I just have big problem with smoking from the local guess. I understand that smoking is a common behavior in Japan. The common area (TV room on 4th floor)people smoke for relax that is fine for me. BUT The hotel allow local guess smoke on the sleeping section (5th floor). I did not sleep well all night because of the smell from cigarette. If anyone have problem or allergic to smoke, you must avoid to stay at this place. If you lung is fine for smoke during sleep this hotel is great for you.

normal capsule hotel. Very big and good common area. unfortunately hallways are abit too cold compared to others. location not as straightforward. seems to have changed with another of their branches in the area.

WORST PROPERTY EVER - STAY AT YOUR OWN RISK”

I've stayed in some bad properties but this was by far worst, no exaggeration. To be specific, the dorm was 6 dorm beds in a room with another 6-8 mattresses on the floor, no lockers, and dorm was divided from there mattresses by a curtain, which did not work. I did not feel comfortable or safe there. The rest of the property was not much better. Surprisingly this is not shown on your website. I would post some real pictures here, but I don't think I can. I hope you read this review and decide to pay an extra euro to stay somewhere else because this is just horrible. STAY AT YOUR OWN RISK!

Worth the money spent for backpack”

This is my fourth time stay in this hotel and so far I had no problem. I was backpack traveller with tight budget. It was possible for me to stay in this hotel for two weeks while enjoying Tokyo, with tight budget. I will come back to this hotel again in the near future.

NO AIRCON(FAN) inside the capsule itself”

it was nice staying at the capsule. very cheap and staff is nice. but the capsule itself doesnt have aircondition or fan you will need to open your capsule if you want to get air from the centralized aircondition. afterall its JAPAN and its SAFE so its ok to open the small door of your capsule.

Very good”

This was practically our third time here. And so enough said about how we liked. The first 2 times was at the other road just behind. This branch has some issues with cigarette smokes which you have to go pass by before reaching the non-smoking capsules. Go for the Oriental branch at the other side for lesser cigarette smell. Otherwise they are almost the same.

Friendly and helpful staff for your accommodation”

This is my 3rd time of staying in this capsule hotel and I had no problem so far. The staff even helpful to fulfill my request to change room due to locker at 3rd floor is far from capsule room at 4th floor. The staff was helpful to find suitable room whereby I can access to locket directly at same floor, 4th floor. Awesome service anyway!

This hotel is enough good for my solo traveling of vacation trip”

Actually I have stayed in this hotel twice, that is last November in year 2015 and this month. So far, this hotel is enough reasonable price for my low budget in order to stay longer and got to enjoy the wonderful land of rising sun during the whole period of vacation trip. Staff are fairly gentle and even returned my missing notebook to me on my final day of this month albeit it is insignificant. Few staff can read simple english is good enough already. I will say in this hotel again in future, for sure thing as solo traveller with low budget. Gambateh!

Worst hostel of our trip.”

Traveling though Japan with a friend for the past month, this hostel was a very dissapointing experience. The location is extremely central, however located above a casino therefore it is noisy in the capsule. The staff have an extremely inconvenient system of storing shoes and baggage, the common room was full of elderly Japanese men smoking so there is nowhere quiet or hospitable to sit. The bathrooms are old and smelly, the showers are communal and lack privacy. The capsules themselves are uncomfortable, with the last straw: no fan inside the capsule. The one thing you would think a CAPSULE HOTEL would have is a functioning air conditioning system. The hostel in general has a smell on all surfaces. Honestly if you are young or any age and traveling budget, please do yourself a favor and pay and extra 1000 yen for a better place.

An interesting expereience”

The stay was good value for the money. I only had an 18 hour layover and just needed a quick place to crash. The capsules themselves are quite stuffy so there isn't much air movement. There are a number of rules you need to follow when you enter the place though. Also there are 2 capsules with very similar names. There is a new century and just century capsules. I went to the wrong one by accident. 1. When you enter take off your shoes 2. Check in and they will give you a key to put your shoe into 3. Hand them the key to your shoe locker and they will give you a locker key that you can lock away your clothes and other valuables. (if you have a larger travel bag they can put that in storage for you as it will not fit in the locker) 4. You can get dressed in the pants and robes they provide and lounge around. If you want to leave you can do so at any time and simply do the instructions in reverse order. The food around the area is amazing and its near a train station so very easy to get around and back to the airport.

Porn channels?”

Close to Keisei-Ueno Line which is directly goes to Narita Airport. Everything was great! Free sauna, Supports English and Korean. However, There are some porn channels inside the capsule which is only men stay. Well... It was quite interesting haha

Bad room and poor convenience”

the room or box in this hotel so bad no have air condition in the box. And bath room is suana area, you must take a bath in suana area then don't have private. and in suana area has smoking then, the travellers will be come for stay here have only 2 good things are 1.Cheap 2.Location. except this not good.

Good value capsule hotel near Ueno St.”

Not bad, but the problem is the fact that they allow guests to smoke in the common area make the whole place smells horrible. Anyway, they do not let guests smoking in capsules. Also, the a/c in capsules is not strong enough and it is a bit too warm inside the capsule.

Quite hot in summer, better stay during winter”

The capsule itself is very clean and tidy, I slept at 5F and 4F is smoking area so 5F might have some smoke smell but not too heavy. Capsule is comfortable but not suitable for people whose height is more than 180cm. It comes with 10 channels TV and ear phone for you to enjoy watching TV inside capsule. Public bath is good. Capsule hotel is 5 minutes away from Ueno station. Downstairs a lot of food and restaurants or izakaya to eat and dine in.

Convenient for transport but too smoky”

I found the 5th-floor capsule to be comfortable, but the cigarette smoke from the 4th floor lingered for quite a while, stinging the nostrils. The shared shower, spa, and sauna are clean and relaxing. Don't expect a lot of locker space beyond a 30-liter backpack. Plenty of food and beer to chose from in the neighborhood, especially if you're willing to tackle the language barrier. Most guests seem to be traveling Japanese businessmen staying on the cheap. That said, I HIGHLY recommend bringing earplugs as many of them have a terrible smoker's cough and snore and fart all day (at least the guys around my capsule). Lastly, sooooo very easy to get around from Ueno. I love to walk, so each day I walked around 15-20km, being able to reach many sites in the city.

A budget choice”

It was not bad really. Although the condition of the hotel is not that perfect(wifi doesn't work in capsule, heaps of smokers in resting area, limited space, eta), it is cheap!! Do prepare your ear plug and eyepatch with you
