Luxury at its best Views upon views Loved the complimentary drinks Breakfast was amazing excellent selection

What can I say? What a stunning location overlooking Knysna Heads, lagoon on Leisure Isle. Our room , the Coral Suite, had panoramic views of the lagoon and Heads and I could have sat there all day staring out of the window! The whole hotel has stylish deco including our room with a very comfortable bed. There was a fridge with milk and water in and a kettle. The bathroom only has a shower in but was very good. We borrowed bikes from the hotel to cycle around the island but didn’t use the canoes available to guests. I had lunch by the pool set in lovely gardens and we then had pre dinner drinks on the terrace watching the sun set before a delicious dinner ( preordered on our arrival) in the restaurant. Breakfast was on the terrace before we sadly had to move on. Staff were wonderful and very helpful. I would totally recommend this hotel, we had a wonderful stay.

The units are clean and very comfortable, bed and sheets amazing. It has a beautiful modern look and lots of space. The host friendly and staff helpful, breakfast have options between bacon and eggs, the omelette was my favourite, juice coffee tea and fresh fruits salad with yogurt and muesli also an option. The area is quiet and very safe. Also not to far from town.

Excellent for everything like location , comfort in rooms and amenities, breakfast, value for the paid money, will definitely revisit and refer to friends. Very well managed facility. I think the managers and supervisors keeping this place spot on.

Awesome stay, comfortable units and fully equipped. Love the view to the lagoon and in town close to everything. Breakfast amazing be on eggs fruit salad with yogurt etc.

This hotel was perfect for our night in Knysa. The hotel was clean and modern, the restaurant was so chic and delicious, and it was in a great location! Highly reccomend!

The cottage was a house! We had lots of space, were really comfortable and we both thought this accommodation was the best we had during our time in South Africa, even though others were "higher rated". The staff were great, the breakfast was good and the grounds were immaculate. Add to this, the view back across the bay was spectacular!

This is a place to be if you are travelling the world.Got to see some of the best sea views.Do take the first floor suites facing sea.The owner and his son we met were exceptional and very friendly

Johan was an exceptional host and wonderful stay. The host has amazing local knowledge and shared great history about the area, which really enhanced our experience. He was welcoming, attentive, and clearly passionate about what he does. The views are breathtaking, and the breakfast was both delicious and healthy. He also kindly assisted with our laundry at a discounted price, which was greatly appreciated. He recommended excellent local restaurants, including 34 Degrees South, where we enjoyed amazing seafood. A thoughtful touch was waiting to say goodbye when we left. Great accommodation with an outstanding host — highly recommended. Thank you Johan!

Our 3 night stay at South Villa was made all the more pleasant and stress free due to the outstanding service and attentiveness of Hentie and Christa, the wonderful managers of this establishment. We must also commend them for the delicious and visually pleasing breakfasts.

The place was great and staff was very friendly and helpful. Perfect location for an amazing sunset view.

The guest house offered fantastic value for money with a superb location. The staff were top-notch and the cleanliness was commendable. The facilities were good, and the garden added a nice touch to the property. The room size was comfortable, ensuring a pleasant sleep, while the bathroom was well-maintained. We

The Turbine Hotel is worth a visit if you want a taste of up-Market South Africa. In an area reminiscent of Cape Town's Victoria and Alfred waterfront, it's a creative reworking of an old sawmill and power station. Worth going for the breakfasts alone. And the staff are lovely.

We were privileged to stay 4 nights at Headlands House Guest Lodge, a small private establishment with some of the most extraordinary views in Knysna. Waking up with uninterrupted views of the Knysna Heads from the comfort of your bed feels almost surreal, at times you have to touch the window just to remind yourself it is real and not an AI-generated screen saver. What makes this guest house truly special is that it seems to operate beautifully outside the modern tech grid. Guest information is still completed with pen and paper, soft music plays from a CD player in the evenings, and the honesty bar is managed with a clipboard and handwritten notes. It creates a rare sense of calm, nostalgia and authenticity that is becoming increasingly difficult to find. The rooms are comfortable, thoughtfully equipped and ideal for short stays. Breakfast is served at small linen-covered tables in a bright dining area with panoramic ocean views. The staff-to-guest ratio feels perfectly balanced, attentive, efficient, warm and eloquent without ever being intrusive. It is the type of place where privacy is respected, yet you always feel genuinely welcome. The location is excellent, within easy walking distance of the Knysna Heads viewpoints and two local restaurants. Dining at PIZA E VINO nearby gives the area a distinct Amalfi Coast atmosphere. Highly recommended for travellers who appreciate understated luxury, authentic hospitality, slower coastal living and scenic destinations with character rather than commercial glamour.

We booked and payed for 3 bedrooms for 6 people. Once we reached the facility the admin asked for extra full payment for 3 out of 6. When he showed the rooms it was all family rooms, very old household, converted to guest rooms; still insisted on extra payments. We finally forfieted our booking amount and left for better accommodation.

Do not rent any of the rooms on the second level where room 6 is. Paid R8000 for two nights and could not open the doors or the windows of the room. The restaurant and kitchen extraction meganism is only two meters from the room. Huge noise and very annoying. Had to put music on to damper the annoying voice.

Pros - Cleanliness, friendly staff Cons - Not too close to main attractions, same breakfast menu everyday Take it if you get it for a great price under R100

Thank you Colleen for making the stay so comfortable and pleasant. The room and other facilities were amazing. I was so impressed and will definitely book again when I'm in Knysna. Thank you

My wife and I stayed for 3 nights as it was our anniversary. Staff were very welcoming, courteous and very helpful. Facilities were 'OK' which means I think there should be more things on offer at the hotel or better communication of what can be seen, done around Knysna. YES - we can all google, yes we can go to a tourist info kiosk but I think a hotel of this stature and price could do more. I also think the Hotel lacks atmosphere. People arrive, get a welcome, lovely staff and great breakfast and lovely boat trip - nothing else. I would and have suggested a 'happy hour' in the Bar Area where everyone has a personal invitation to join between 6pm-7.30pm. Cocktails and/or general drinks offered together with savoury snacks. Not everyone will come but generally people do come and this will create a great social atmosphere. There is one caveat - the staff need to be trained on how to serve cocktails as the Aperol Spritzer we had was terrible. I've visited many hotels worldwide and I have found those that offer this service get great recommendations. Something to think about for management.

Crown on the heads it's super beautiful with great views, super clean and definitely feels like home. The house manager Dorah she's super professional , welcoming and makes sure one gets a special service. We enjoyed our stay there.

Everything about Kanonkop Ho is wonderful - location on top of a hill overlooking the lagoon, massive beautiful room, superb breakfasts, great facilities and all supported by the most gracious and excellent team of staff. Highly recommend.

Had the best time of my life, staff are friendly, the accommodation is a value for your money, everything is top notch
