Getting to Anantara Bali Resort & Spa from Denpasar took awhile approximately 45 minutes taking into consideration the traffic. Having a shuttle service to pick you up from the resort itself is more worth it rather than getting a taxi from the airport as they tend to cheat your money. From the lobby itself, the scenery of the resort is breathtaking. The room was even better - huge couch, comfortable king-sized bed, a balcony overlooking the ocean with your very own jacuzzi connecting to the exclusive toilet with connecting glass doors. There was a free shuttle service to the famous Uluwatu Temple - a car with your very own personal driver who actually acts as a mini guide to the Uluwatu Temple itself. My partner and I are both very satisfied with the great service. Rent a motorbike from the resort itself at night (showing bike license isn't really necessary) till the afternoon of the next day. Renting a motorbike was cheap and worth it to explore Uluwatu as you can make your own way to restaurants, beaches etc. It wasn't difficult as the roads are small and pretty safe. My partner however had a slight injury but the staff of the resort took care of it and showed care and concern by even offering to wrap the wound even though it was not their task to. I am beyond impressed by the friendly staff service and they definitely deserve some tips and the place was worth every penny. Breakfast at 260 Dining & Lounge was awesome, a whole lot of variety of food overlooking the Indian Ocean the not forgetting the cool morning breeze. A night staying here is definitely not enough and I would love to recommend and revisit the place again one day.

we stayed for 2 nights in alila villas uluwatu for our honeymoon vacation. it was a great choice and no regret at all. once we arrived, we are greeted by the warm staffs and indian ocean facing sofa. the check in process is so nice. the staff explained to us the facility that we can enjoy and the different services that we can choose. after a glass of fresh water, towel and face mist, we started towards our villa by golf buggy. nice view along the way. our first impression after we saw our private villa is awesome. the butler explained very well the detail in our room and a great smile from all the staffs. the room has indian ocean facing cabana which we can have our leisure time there, nice swimming pool and nice bed accompanied by nice song from ipod. in summary, alila villas uluwatu is a great choice for honeymooners and we surely will miss this hotel. hopefully we can come back one day! however, one input for this hotel is the light on the road towards this hotel is very minim. hope the hotel can build some lights so that the possibility of accident can be avoided.

We paid about $1400 for 2 nights at the one bedroom ocean view as the cliff-edge ocean view was fully booked but got upgraded to a two bedroom ocean view room as they were quite fully booked when we checked-in. nice gesture but it didnt matter as we didnt need the extra room anyway. The view from our room was quite obstructed and i wasnt exactly happy that i could see more villas and some aircon units infront of us than the ocean itself but that couldnt be helped. The awesomeness of the villa itself made up for the view though. To have a good view of the ocean do head to their restaurant Ju Ma Na or their main pool - simply breath-taking. Do look out for stars at night! Woke up at 4am to a sky dotted full of stars! Star-gazed with hot camomile tea and cake till we saw the sun-rise. awfully romantic.. The staff were amazing from the time we checked in till we left the place. It rained heavily one night and i had trouble going back to our villa from the restaurant to retrieve a jacket and some medication for my partner but staff Hengky was extremely helpful and patient, sheltering me and telling me not to rush as it was dark the ground was very wet. We both left extremely happy and we are now planning our next trip to another banyan tree destination :)

hidden gem in uluwatu! eventhough the location is quite hidden and the only road leading to the resort is badly damaged, but when you arrive there, all those bad impression gone away as soon as you being welcomed by the staffs. walked into the room leave us speechless looking at the detailing, nice room, nice private pool, semi equipped kitchen and nice living room. the resort also arranged a surprise anniversary cake to us and a special anniversary deco in the room that we appreciate most! staying in the room enjoying the rain drops outside it the best feeling i've ever had. thanks to the great hospitality from the resort. i will come again for sure! keep the very best of you!

- We were greeted at the arrival hall way before the customs check, and led Royal style through express way straight to the baggage collection area. The Visa upon arrival was managed by the Hotel at the Custom. Wow! - The Room was so spacious, more than enough for an extra bed with baby sleeping with us. The Indian Ocean view and the waves hitting along the coast down the cliff。 - We had 2 butlers, Astina and Panda to serve us during our stay, 24 hours. - We asked if they could arrange for transportation to Kuta for some shopping at eve of New Year 2014. To avoid the massive traffic jams and Taxi fare hike, they offered their transport for that day FOC. We went shopping right after 10am, and detour to the Beach for swimming and back to hotel and 6.30pm, beating all the traffics with well planning by Astina. - We were quite fallen aback when rains fell heavily at Kuta during our shopping. Astina was so kind enough to check every moment at the local friends on the condition at the beach. We get to the beach afterall as it was sunny there. - One of our initial plan to Bali is to watch surfing waves at Bali Beaches like Padang Padang Beach, Balangan etc. It was advised by Panda and Astina that it is too dangerous to go there with a baby and an elderly. They recommended a new local beach at the south of Bali. The beach was much more better than I thought. - Food was excellent, Breakfast, Lunch or Dinner, all serves at the villa. We like the Nasi Goreng, Lamb and curry. My Mother-in law likes the chilli very much and makes Panda bring more in every meal. - We were presented a bottle of champange as a New Year gift by the GM Thomas Weber. - We got a chance to compare the neighbourhood, Bvlgari Resort next door。 Although both share the same cliff and view the same ocean, I like The Edge better as the rooms sits in front of the ocean but not Bvlgari's and The Edge are better valued.

we are very lucky to be the first guests boeed from agoda. hence, we are entitled to relatively cheaper rate and come complimantary services. the villa is quite ptivate and has almost everything you need like outdoor living, outdoor kitchen and dining, private swimming pool,both indoor and outdoor bath. the staff is very friendly and helpful. the hotel is located 15 mins aways from uluwatu cliff by car and they provide transportation although is charged. overall we have a sweet and pleasant honey moon in this villa.

Great Location on the top of the hidden hills in Uluwatu with amazing 360 views however it's more like an Air B&B so non other facilities if compare to other five star resorts. With limited few villas available for different sizes of groups, this is the true hidden hill villas in Uluwatu. Special note on the Santorini Villa, amazing art deco, white/ blue decoration from interior to the beautiful green lawn outside with plunge pool / fountain. Highly recommend for all the internet bloggers!

Pros: the view, the room was better than the photos in my opinion, clean, the people are incredibly friendly, drivers can take you wherever you want to go for a reasonable price, the pool is great, comfortable bed. Overall, I had a great stay here and would stay again. Cons: walkability to other places isn’t great, but that’s what the drivers are for and I think typical for hotels in Uluwatu. There was a little bit of mold in the blinds in the bathroom...but it’s also Southeast Asia so escaping mold entirely is hard.

Our stay at Le Grande couldn't have been better. I have stayed at Uluwatu before (but not at Le Grande) and loved the area so thought I would bring the girlfriend here and stay at a nice resort. Le Grande definitely did not disappoint. Beautiful grounds beside a golf course with a great pools, bar, pool table, ping pong and restaurant. Room was massive, spotlessly clean and well furnished. Staff were all very nice, made us feel very welcome. Uluwatu is a bit remote if you're looking for shopping ect (which is why I like it so much, no one to hassle you) but the resort is in a good spot. I'd recommend hiring a scooter (can get one from reception) for about 7AUD a day. Perfect spot for surfing Padang Padang (5mins on scooter), Ulu's (10 mins on scooter) ect. Dreamland beach is about a 20min walk, but the hotel does free shuttles every hour. Kuta is about a 45min drive away, $20 in hotel transport and about a $11 taxi back (it can be a bit hard getting a taxi from uluwatu sometimes). Go down to the bars on the uluwatu cliff in the afternoon for cheap food and drink and an amazing view. I would definitely recommend Le Grande and will be staying here again on my next visit.

uluwatu considers as new tourism area in bali. most taxi drivers don't know where this hotel located. we ended up frocked up more from our pocket because of lost on the road and lack of road signs to direct us to the hotel. i suggest renting a car with driver who knows this location. the hotel's view is magnificent. it located up the hill facing south, uluwatu sea. we received free upgrade to the best room of a three bdrm villa with private pool and stunned by the 180 degree sea view. no direct beach connection also something to consider before booking this hotel.

we couldn't have been happier with our choice to stay at pink coco. it is a lovely part of the uluwatu area, less than 10 mins by scooter to the amazing uluwatu cliffs and surf breaks, pink coco was spacious both inside and out, and although many of the 28 rooms were occupied during our stay, it always felt peaceful and even private. the trattoria restaurant was fantastic, a very extensive menu that had something for everyone, including great coffees. there are other dining options very close by if you want to eat outside of the hotel, we didn't feel the need, unless we were out anyway. the evening outdoor dining experience in the iguana bar is a delight, relaxing, and a beautiful atmosphere. the architecture of pink coco is to behold, very authentic, plus lots of lovely balinese decor. my five star rating is relative to the prices at pink coco, but this doesn't detract from the quality service, very well equipped and spacious rooms and the overall experience that we had. pink coco is not only a place for those there to surf, we found a variety of guests really enjoying their stay. not only will we return to pink coco, but we will definitely recommend it to everyone who is looking to stay outside of the chaos of kuta tho enjoy some of the real delights of bali.

The price is worth every peny The villas are spacious large bed clean room the air conditioner is working well The pool is so amazing with the view of the city center, the view of sea and the mountain directly in front of your eyes... The staff is friendly and the manager give us best deal charges room for extend hour... thank you Mr Budi The garden is clean and well mantain Minua just the breakfast standart... the taste was not good... But overall I will come back soon to this suites... very comfortable and I enjoy every minutes in here

Pros: great location, great value (similar villa nearby would cost 2-4x more), nice and clean premises, right size pool with jacuzzi, nice bathtub, open door/window rooms, good tv cable/wifi, full kitchen amenities, 2 security guards 24h, pandawa beach resort closeby. They also serve very nice chicken satay (the best!!) although not always readily available. Cons: basic room equipment, sofa too low and hard to sit in, basic breakfast which need upgrading (considering how much we pay for the villa), parking (not convenient to turn around the car in arrival area). Due to its location right in middle of bali island, despite its location of villa (almost) in the edge of cliff, please adjust your expectation that you can not see sunset or sunrise at all from the villa/pool. But I guess this is the reason that you would need to pay extra 2-4x for similar villa in surrounding area in bali, which not all can afford.

The Wyndham is right near the beautiful dreamland beach you can quickly walk there from the hotel loved that. W hired a scooter from the hotel for short trips around but they will happily book you a driver where you want to go. Uluwatu is a nice area with looks of beach’s and beach clubs so we enjoyed stay a few nights and seeing all of that. The staff were amazing. Remembered your name, friendly and extremely helpful. We’d stay there again.

We stayed in several parts of the island for our honeymoon and this is where we ended our stay in Bali. Uluwatu has a very chill vibe. This hotel is at the very back of a gated community which is nice but also makes it a bit tougher getting around. The hotel is pretty nice inside for a price but overall it’s very tired and needs some renovating. The staff however is very friendly and helpful. They set up a scooter delivery for us no problem! Here are some pros and cons Pros Quiet, no traffic inside the community, on the golf course, you can see the ocean from the hotel, the beach is just across the street when you walk through the Klapa Beach club, Dreamland Beach is nice compared to some off the other close beaches (if you go down to the beach go right and go away from the restaurant and beach club it is quieter) Cons Have to go all the way back to the main road to get to restaurants and other beaches (things look closer on the map then they are), not many conveniences around, the outside is very tired looking, the water smells very bad in the rooms at times from the drains, the water has stained the counters and area of the bathrooms, the towels weren’t in the best shape (stains and rips), the beach club is free to get in if staying at the hotel (however have to pay to go in the pool), the beach club is overrun by massive large groups of busses in tourists and is not relaxing (avoid it!!) Overall Good price for what you get but they could use some updating and TLC. Use the hotel pool and avoid the beach club. There are some other very nice beach clubs in the uluwatu area. I highly recommend getting a scooter or using grab/gojek to get you around to visit other parts of the south. If you plan to do tours it’s been to stay in the Denpasar/Ubud area. If you want to relax and enjoy beaches more than stay in the area.

Enjoyed our stay here, the hotel was lovely and clean, really nice staff big rooms with great views. Just a 5 min walk down to beautiful uluwatu beach and cliff top markets/restaurants great places to watch the sunset. Breakfast at the hotel was delicious and huge, we ate here a few times and the food was always yummy.. at the moment a t 30% discount off their food prices as well. One of the receptionists organized a transfer for us to Kuta beach at IDR150.000 very cheap considering our transport from Seminyak to Uluwatu was 300.000.

My mum and I stayed in the Jepun villa which was huge for just the two of us (it made us want to come back with more family members). Balinese style villa with separated bedrooms and individuals bathrooms. Big private swimming pool and living areas. The service was excellent. Breakfast freshly prepared and served facing the coast. Renting a motorbike is easy and you are close to everything in Uluwatu. You can order diner and also book massages in their spa. Very quiet location. Kitchen is fully equipped. Highly recommended ... great value for the price! Only thing which could be improved would be to clean or replace cushions and lamps, add lamps next to the beds and do a thorough cleaning of the lights switches and baseboards.

The views were amazing from almost any private room/suite that you choose from. Breakfast was tasty, and it was included inside my room price, which was a nice surprise as I was expecting otherwise. I loved the balcony/private terrace and the public lounge areas where I had my breakfast to too. The Padang Padang beach was also literally just right below Dreamsea itself. It was amazing to watch the sunset and sunrise right from the comfort of our beds itself. Loved the boho aesthetics all around Dreamsea too! Reasonably priced considering its around the pricy Uluwatu area. The only cons were: 1) Our driver had trouble driving in to the place as it is located behind a small one-way road. Do keep in mind if driving there. 2) Steep steps to get to the hotel itself, can be tiring to head in and out, especially with heavy luggages in tow. 3) The walls are VERY thin. I definitely did not expect it to be soundproof, but we could literally hear the couple next-door having sex really clearly.

Me and my partner were upgraded to the Big Rock room for my Birthday! The room itself was lovely, with panoramic views of the sea and a nice big wrap around balcony where we were able to eat a tasty breakfast each morning. We loved the facilities, location and food options available throughout the day here. The beach just below is very quiet and clean, and was the best beach we visited during our time in Uluwatu. We were able to rent a scooter for a very reasonable price and the staff also helped us book multiple taxis. Christophe and his team were all very kind and hardworking, giving the place such a wonderful atmosphere - thank you so much!

Me and my BF stayed here for a night. We were greeted with roses on the bed which was very sweet and romantic. The staff were great and helpful. The rooms are really clean and for worth it for the price we paid. Taxis can be found parked right across the hotel. My only problem with my stay here was that there was absolutely nothing to do around the area. Everything closed really early. The only advantage to staying here is if you are interested to travel around Jimbaran or make your way to the uluwatu temple as the hotel is relatively near to these two locations.

I greatly recommend the Puri Pandawa resort. It is lovely place with excellent staff - nothing is a problem in Puri and we felt realy comfortable and well pampered. It is place for those who wants to escape from busy tourist places as Kuta. They have a nice swiming pool and lovely garden. We rented a comfy kind of beach house with part opened bathroom and we just loved it! Beach is 20 mins by walk but they give you a lift and pick you up any time. If you feel bored you just rent a scooter and go to visit Uluwatu temple - it is whorth it! Thank you again to all staff, you guys do your job very well ! :-)

Three Monkeys is in a great location for exploring the best of Uluwatu. You can walk to the beach, the bars, the restaurants easily. Breakfast each day is a lovely treat, or you can relax by the pool while making friends with the other guests in this small but friendly setting. The rooms are spotlessly clean and comfortable, and all the staff know you on first name basis from day 1. Highly recommend!
