Comfy place ”
Observed to have more chinese tourist around. Experienced a couple arguing next door in the middle of the night at 1am. Thats the oni nasty experience. Otherwise nice place to stay. nice staff that check you in quickly. snacks and ice water provided. washing machines available for use at 20baht. near chatuchak. morning market nearby sells good food. accessible to other side of bkk. good to stay if you wanna be away from traffic for getting to southern bus terminal, talingchan and the other floating markets near bkk. Safe district to stay in. food at local price.
Very good hotel with excellent staffs”
The hotel is very nice with very good and attentive staffs. Only regret was, it was without any restaurant, for that reason I had to order my dinner from outside. However, there are many local restaurants nearby. One more thing, they have coffee machine snacks readily and freely available in the lobby. I would recommend this hotel.
The room is pretty clean, as well as towels, bedsheet, glasses and other amenities. The staff are so friendly. The atmosphere is warm and cozy. However, the air condition made loud noise. The location is quite good and easy to go to my business place. I also love the market and food stalls in the morning and evening; there are so many kinds of food available. I can't stand tasting them. Check in and out process is easy and takes very short time.
Staff were helpful. UMA's location is quite far from city centre but as long as we took taxi from point to point most of the time, this didn't cause us any trouble. Taxi fare to Phrom Phong/Siam was about 200-250 baht. We have stayed for 4 nights, room was tidied each day with complimentary bottles of water. Good value of money.
Good hotel for non smokers”
Clean good hotel. Only breakfast available (there is one good resto approx. 600 m from hotel, named malase or so). Smoking not allowed in the whole hotel, except for one place under the building. Very friendly personnel.
Great Oasis in a nice neighbourhood! Love to stay there when I'm in Bangkok”
I have been to UMA several times. The pool area is really nice to relax after a stressful day in the city. Perfect escape. Very stylish interior. Staff is super friendly and helpful at all times. I booked the "cheap" room with no elevator which is a good option. The only thing I have to criticize this time is that you cannot access the balconies in this wing of the building anymore. Apparently to safety reasons. I'm not sure what exactly that means... So you can't open the window to get some air... Also the air condition was kind of weak/not well working and it was not so easy to control the climate in the room. But everything else was great. I would definately go there again.
Resort in the very city center, peaceful”
I enjoyed staying at the hotel. I made two bookings. On the first few days I stayed in a room on the fourth floor, good for exercising though. Staff are very helpful and very friendly. The room was clean. Second booking, i moved to a deluxe room with a neighbor's house view. Swimming pool and ares around were perfect. Good to hang around in all day with complimentary coffee and snacks.
Nice for stay .”
Have a nice swimming pool , staff all is goods.. but location abit far for the place I want to went . Plus very jam. 6km can jam in the uber car around 45min . If not rush to shopping can stay here, :)
Clean and nice hotel”
The hotel was quite trendy and new. The toilet and room was clean and neat. Room was spacious and even had a small balcony. Staff were pretty helpful with directions and calling cabs. One confusing encounter was that they have 3 hotel buildings. During check-in, the staff did not inform me which building my room was. When I entered a lift, another staff asked for my key card and told me it was the third floor. However, I was in the wrong building and nobody told me so. I had a hard time looking for my room. Other than that, staff service was good. Breakfast was alright but a lack of variety. This hotel is pretty inaccessible via train. Had to cab and bus to get there. Overall a pleasant stay.
Very relaxing and quiet place, resort like in town”
I had a very good time at UMA. It was spacious on the ground floor with a salt water swimming pool (the pool has a corner for jet waster). Excellent service from friendly+ polite staff. Breakfast menus are different from the other day with good quality ingredients. Free coffee from a coffee maker In public area. Modern decorated. I recommend this hotel. Good for families and solo travelers. A bit far from BTS and MRT, you need to take a taxi or a motorcycle service.
GREAT GREAT GREAT GREAT !!!!”
its location is not that good. pretty far from center of bangkok but its no problem. you can ride the bus nearby hotel. its easy if you have a google-map application. Breakfast was good. fine. Staffs were kind, smiling always, and tried their best to help me. The room was good condition. white interior was simple&Clean. Some street foods and local restaurants are around the hotel. you can experience the real life of the Tai people.
Good location. Local lifestyle.”
The hotel is great location for those who want to go to Phahonyothin/Aree area. We stayed in the 4th floor where the building has no lift, it was great for us to walk up and down(as part of exercise after having yummy Thai food) But for those who travel with baby or senior, ask before you book. The staff are ok. The pool is very small. (don't bother to bring swim gear) The room and toilet are clean.
Really nice oasis in the middle of the city. Would have never expected to find it where you do. Just off a busy street in an alley. Very nice, clean, great environment. Good room with nice amenities, quiet, nice bed, tv, and bathroom. The staff seemed a little overwhelmed when I arrived, but everything was sorted with a little patience. Def a great value for the money. If I lived in BKK I'd "vacation" here on weekends.
Great place but no restaurant or bar”
It is a nice new hotel with clean room, brand new. There are restaurants in the street just beside but only Thai food, thai street food. I would love to see a bar with cocktails and wine near the swimming pool as it is really beautiful. For the price we paid, great value.
A good hotel with good surrounding and amenities.”
This is the most helpful staff i have ever seen, among 3 hotels i have been stayed in Bangkok. They can tell me a lot of information which i wish to know, especially when getting around. The hotel location kinda far away from BTS Skytrain Station. However, luckily the taxi in Bangkok to get around is quite cheap, avoid busy hour, and you can get a trip around 50-70bath to BTS Station nearby, which are any BTS station between BTS Mo Chit until BTS Chitlom, it won't have much far fare difference. Another way to get to this hotel are using boat service, which the pier is just around 700m from this hotel. It is very cheap, but time consuming. Hotel wise, you can see a good lighting during night time, and some chairs for you to sit beside the pool to relax. The surrounding is very quiet, not much people passing by, a very relaxing experience i had in Bangkok. There are some cookies and tid-bits where you can have it anytime. There are a coffee maker as well for you to have drinks together with the cookies. Room wise, it is quite small, but with everything you need during the stay. TV Channel have up to over hundred channels for you to watch, but most of them are Thai language, but the good thing is the satellite TV channel receiver is in the room, you can change channel language to english, if it is available. Breakfast was average, could have more improvement to be made. Overall, it is a good stay, just a bit over-priced, if you have book this hotel at their normal rate.
Small hotel with big personality”
UMA is one of the best boutique hotel not so far from ChuktoChuk Market. The hotel is new so bedding and furniture are modern and relaxing. Staff were so friendly so make the stay extra special. I will 100% return again.
very nice～i will choose this hotel next time～
The room was small-ish, the bed corner claustrophobic, the in-room safe not functioning (nothing was done after a complaint with the reception), the pool much too shallow. We left after a day.
Nice hotel but location is a pain in the ass ”
The local taxi also can't locate the hotel and few time walking back using GPS. Hotel also don't provide toothbrush and u got to walk out to 7/11 to buy.
Just like back home in the U.S.”
This hotel was the first place that we stayed on our extended tour of SE Asia. We just wanted a place fairly close to the airport that we could easily get to when we arrived in Bangkok after midnight. The cab driver knew where the hotel was and we arrived quickly (no traffic at that time of night.) The friendly hotel staff was expecting us and checked us in efficiently. Our room was very modern and clean. Everything worked properly. The room was quite stylish. And the price was very reasonable. I highly recommend the hotel and would definitely stay there again.
